Allen Robinson

Detroit Lions
12/04/20, 9:22 PM ET

Allen Robinson (knee) listed as questionable for Sunday

Robinson reportedly tweaked his knee in practice, and he’s officially been listed as questionable on the Bears’ injury report for Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Detroit Lions, while Darnell Mooney is also listed as questionable as he nurses a knee injury as well. Assuming Chicago’s top two wide receivers are deemed ready to go, they’ll find themselves in a tremendous spot versus a depleted Lions secondary, and even though Mooney is coming off a game where he accumulated nine targets for a 20.5% market share, there’s little doubt that Robinson remains the clear alpha receiver in this offense and is still maintaining a 25.1% target share through 11 games this season.

Jonnu Smith

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/04/20, 9:31 PM ET

Jonnu Smith (knee) officially ruled out for Sunday

Smith was unable to practice at all this week, and he’s officially been ruled out for Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Cleveland Browns due to a knee injury. AJ Brown and Corey Davis do command a large portion of the targets from quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but the absence of Smith still certainly clears the way for Anthony Firkser to take over as the undisputed top pass-catching tight end. Firkser was the beneficiary of a team-high 21.9% target share and ran a route on 29 of 46 dropbacks in the only game with Smith sidelined this season, but that was back during the Titans’ COVID-19 outbreak, so he will likely have much more competition for targets with Davis, Adam Humphries, and several other ancillary pieces in the Tennessee offense at full health this time around.

Daniel Jones

Indianapolis Colts
12/04/20, 9:40 PM ET

Daniel Jones (hamstring) officially listed as doubtful for Sunday

Jones was unable to participate in practice this entire week, and he’s officially been listed as doubtful on the Giants’ injury report for Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks due to a hamstring injury he sustained in last week’s contest. Head coach Joe Judge did an admirable job trying to lead the media astray that Jones actually had a chance to play this weekend, but now that Jones is expected to inactive, Colt McCoy will take over under center in a spot versus a suddenly formidable Seattle defense. His presence at quarterback does lower the floor and ceiling of the Giants’ pass catchers for daily fantasy formats, but even with the downgrade from Jones, players like Evan Engram, Sterling Shepard, or even Wayne Gallman remain in consideration as low-owned tournament targets on the various slates across the industry.

Salvon Ahmed

Chicago Bears
12/04/20, 7:42 PM ET

Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) and DeAndre Washington (hamstring) doubtful for Sunday

Ahmed and Washington didn’t practice this week, and both running backs have officially been listed as doubtful on the Dolphins’ injury report for Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals due to their respective ailments. With Matt Breida absent from practice because of an illness and reportedly heading to the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Dolphins are on pace to be extremely shorthanded in the backfield for a second consecutive week, especially if Myles Gaskin isn’t activated from injured reserve before the deadline on Saturday afternoon. However, all signs point to Gaskin being activated, and he would be a strong favorite to resume the previous workhorse role he had prior to his injury absence given the Dolphins’ hesitance to give Patrick Laird any meaningful work in the ground game. Laird would likely mix in as a change of pace in this hypothetical, but Gaskin would remain a tremendous daily fantasy option for all formats across the industry this weekend.

Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers
12/03/20, 7:42 PM ET

Josh Jacobs (ankle) and Nelson Agholor (ankle) still not practicing Thursday

Jacobs and Agholor were unable to practice for a second consecutive day and both players appear to be in danger of missing Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the New York Jets due to their respective ailments. Despite accumulating just seven carries for 27 rushing yards in last weekend’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, there were several reports early in the week suggesting that Jacobs’ injury “looked worse than it actually is”, but his inability to get on the field to this point in the week definitely indicates otherwise. Given the winnability of this game, it’d be unsurprising if the Raiders opt to hold Jacobs out even if he returns to practice on Friday afternoon, and if that’s the case, Devontae Booker would become the overwhelming favorite to lead the backfield by a significant margin while some combination of Theo Riddick and Jalen Richard would likely mix in as a change of pace.

D'Andre Swift

Chicago Bears
12/03/20, 7:54 PM ET

D'Andre Swift clears the concussion protocol Thursday

The Lions announced that Swift has officially cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol, which is positive news for his potential availability in Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Chicago Bears, but Swift was still unable to practice on Thursday as he battles a non-COVID-19 related illness. Interim head coach Darrell Bevell was optimistic earlier in the week that Swift would be able to play in this weekend’s contest, but it appears likely his status will come down to how much he’s able to do in practice on Friday afternoon. Prior to his head injury, Swift had taken over as the clear lead back in Lions running back committee, but if he’s unable to suit up, Adrian Peterson would become the favorite for early-down touches once again while Kerryon Johnson would serve as a change of pace and the primary pass-catcher out of the backfield.

Zach Ertz

Washington Commanders
12/02/20, 8:53 PM ET

Zach Ertz (ankle) activated from injured reserve Wednesday

The Eagles announced that they’ve officially activated Ertz from injured reserve, and he’ll likely make his return to the starting lineup for Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Green Bay Packers after missing four games due to an ankle injury. Prior to the injury, Ertz was basically a non-factor at the tight end position across the NFL landscape for fantasy purposes, so it’d be borderline malpractice by head coach Doug Pederson if he doesn’t continue to utilize Dallas Goedert as the team’s primary pass-catching tight end in 1-1 personnel sets. However, the Eagles are typically among the league leaders in 1-2 personnel, so even if Ertz is now the number two tight end in the pecking order, he’ll still be on the field plenty and could cut into the snaps of Greg Ward, who has primarily been serving as the slot receiver for quarterback Carson Wentz this season.

Adam Thielen

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/02/20, 9:02 PM ET

Adam Thielen activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday

The Vikings announced that they’ve officially activated Thielen from the reserve/COVID-19 list, and he is expected to play in Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars after missing one game because of a false positive COVID-19 test late last week. Thielen is only eligible to return this soon because of the false positive, so he seems likely to step directly into his usual 1A wide receiver role alongside Justin Jefferson, which will relegate Olabisi Johnson to a backup role once again following his solid seven reception and 74 receiving yards performance in Week 12’s loss to the Carolina Panthers this past weekend.

J.K. Dobbins

Denver Broncos
12/02/20, 12:34 PM ET

J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram won't play Wednesday

Dobbins and Ingram both received positive test results last Monday and despite being removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list yesterday, they still won’t play in Wednesday afternoon’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers since they haven’t practiced or participated in team activities for over 10 days. This news catapults Gus Edwards and Justice Hill up the Ravens’ running back depth chart once again and will more than likely be the only two players receiving touches out of the backfield on a tumultuous week, even if someone like Ty’Son Williams is elevated from the practice squad to the active roster closer to game time. Edwards should be the odds-on favorite to lead the two in touches on this afternoon, but Hill is easily the more versatile back and will be an intriguing tournament option on the single-game slates if Edwards’ projected ownership gets out of control.

Will Fuller

Miami Dolphins
12/01/20, 5:17 AM ET

Will Fuller suspended six games for a PED violation

Fuller announced on his Instagram account that he’s been suspended six games by the NFL for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policies, effectively ending his 2020 season and possibly his career as a member of the Houston Texans organization as he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent in the new calendar year. This is poor timing for the Texans’ outlook on the offensive side of the ball since they just recently released Kenny Stills from the active roster and placed Randall Cobb on injured reserve, meaning he is still at least two weeks away from returning to the field. If Stills isn’t resigned, Houston would be left with Brandin Cooks, Keke Coutee, and some combination of Steven Mitchell and Isaiah Coulter as the third wide receiver in three-wide sets, which could potentially force them into building their gameplan around more 1-2 personnel and allow Jordan Akins and one of the other depth tight ends to see increased opportunities in the passing game moving forward.

Javon Wims, DT Akiem Hicks inactive Sunday night

Javon Wims and DT Akiem Hicks are both inactive Sunday night. Wims was eligible to return after serving a two-game suspension for fighting, but will miss at least one more game. Akiem Hicks is also out, a significant loss for the Bears’ defense, and a big boost for the Packers’ offense.

Willie Snead reportedly tests positive for COVID-19

Willie Snead has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, yet another positive test for the Ravens. This would be the 7th offensive starter for Baltimore to test positive. If the Ravens do play Tuesday, it will be hard for them to field a competitive team. With the continued positive test results, it seems unlikely the game can actually be played Tuesday.
