Courtland Sutton

Denver Broncos
9/18/20, 4:32 PM ET

Courtland Sutton (shoulder) "50-50" to play on Sunday; Phillip Lindsay (toe) ruled out

Sutton has officially been listed as questionable on the Broncos’ injury report, and head coach Vic Fangio referred to him as “50-50” to play in Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an AC joint sprain that’s already kept him sidelined for one game. Meanwhile, Phillip Lindsay’s turf toe injury will force him to be inactive for this weekend’s contest, as expected, and now that’s he’s officially ruled out, Melvin Gordon becomes the undisputed lead running back in the Broncos’ backfield with Royce Freeman mixing in as a change pace or to spell Gordon for a few plays at a time. Fangio even admitted to reporters on a Zoom conference that Gordon will play more snaps than he normally would with Lindsay available, but he made sure iterate that he was more than comfortable with Freeman playing a prominent role in the backfield rotation, which feels more like gamesmanship than an actual likelihood that Freeman assumes a substantial carry workload Sunday afternoon.

Chris Godwin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9/18/20, 4:44 PM ET

Chris Godwin (concussion) officially listed as doubtful for Sunday

Godwin didn’t show any concussion-like symptoms on Monday or Tuesday, but he was formally placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol on Wednesday and is now considered doubtful for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers due to a concussion. Head coach Bruce Arians admitted to reporters on a Zoom conference that the team will be extremely cautious with Godwin, and if he’s unable to suit up, Mike Evans would be in prime position to lead the Bucs in target market share by a wide margin. Should Godwin be inactive, Justin Watson would likely be elevated to the primary wide receiver opposite Evans on the outside, while Scotty Miller should have all the available slot routes to himself after accumulating a 5-73-0 line on six targets in Week 1’s loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Golden Tate

Tennessee Titans
9/18/20, 3:21 PM ET

Golden Tate (hamstring) officially listed as questionable for Sunday

Tate has been listed as questionable on the Giants’ official injury report for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Chicago Bears due to a hamstring injury that already forced him to miss one game. However, Tate was able to be a limited participant in practice all week, so he appears on track to be active and play some type of role in the Giants wide receiver corps this weekend, which could throw quite a wrench into the target distribution that was recorded in the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. Darius Slayton narrowly outpaced Sterling Shepard in routes run in that contest while accumulating 46% of the air yards market share, so his deep-threat role in the offense appears unlikely to change even if the number of total targets decreases with Tate likely back in the mix this weekend.

Jack Doyle

Indianapolis Colts
9/18/20, 2:13 PM ET

Jack Doyle (ankle) won't play Sunday

Doyle was unable to participate in practice again on Friday, and he’s officially been ruled out of Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings due to what’s been listed as an ankle and knee injury. Doyle was only targeted four times in Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars as he appeared to most affected by Parris Campbell’s emerging role in the Indianapolis offense after the second-year wideout was peppered with nine targets and led the team with six receptions and 71 receiving yards. The Colts were already forced to place Trey Burton on injured reserve prior to Week 1, so with Doyle is unable to suit up, Mo Alie-Cox will likely assume the starting tight end duties and has flashed elite athleticism in his limited snaps over the past few seasons, making him an intriguing punt option at the tight end position in daily fantasy formats this weekend.

A.J. Brown

New England Patriots
9/18/20, 2:23 PM ET

A.J. Brown (knee) and Darrynton Evans (hamstring) won't play Sunday

Brown didn’t participate in practice once again on Friday, marking the third consecutive day that he’s been unable to do so, and he’s officially been ruled out of Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a knee injury. In his absence, Corey Davis will likely be the main beneficiary of the vacated target market share in the Titans offense, while Khalif Raymond would more than likely fill-in at the other outside wide receiver position after running just seven total routes as the fourth wideout on the depth chart in Monday night’s loss. Jonnu Smith was also on the field for 72.7% of snaps and managed to see 17.5% of targets in that contest, making him an intriguing tight end option in daily fantasy formats with Brown sidelined this weekend.

Miles Sanders

Dallas Cowboys
9/18/20, 2:29 PM ET

Miles Sanders (hamstring) will play Sunday, doesn't expect to have his snaps limited

Sanders was able to participate in a full week of practice for the first time since injuring his hamstring in the early stages of training camp, and he’s officially declared himself ready to go for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, which will demote Boston Scott and Corey Clement back to their normal complementary roles in the backfield rotation. On a likelier even import note, All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson practiced in full all three days and is also fully expected to play in Week 2 after missing the loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday afternoon. His mere presence on the offensive line is an upgrade for Sanders, who doesn’t expect to be on a limited snap count, and this entire Philadelphia offense’s projected value in this week’s daily fantasy contests across the industry.

DeVante Parker

Philadelphia Eagles
9/18/20, 2:46 PM ET

DeVante Parker (hamstring) will be a game-time decision on Sunday

Parker has been a limited participant in practice the entire week, and he’ll be a game-time decision for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Buffalo Bills due to a hamstring injury he reaggravated in last week’s loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon. Parker was only able to be on the field for 40.4% of snaps in Week 1, so even if he’s cleared to play he’ll be difficult to trust in any daily fantasy formats. On the flip side, if Parker is ultimately inactive, Jakeem Grant and Isaiah Ford would assume larger roles in the wide receiver rotation, while Preston Williams would be looking to improve upon his already massive 96.7% routes run and 40% air yards market share from last Sunday’s contest

Jamison Crowder

Washington Commanders
9/18/20, 1:06 PM ET

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) won’t play Sunday

Crowder reaggravated his hamstring injury in Wednesday’s practice, and he’s officially been ruled out of Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers after missing practice each of the previous two days. Head coach Adam Gase also disclosed to reporters on a Zoom conference that Braxton Berrios will assume Crowder’s vacated role in the slot, but Chris Herndon and Breshad Perriman should still be viewed as the top two weapons in this depleted Jets offense since Le’Veon Bell and Denzel Mims were already placed on short-term injured reserve earlier in the week.

Jarvis Landry

New Orleans Saints
9/17/20, 8:10 PM ET

Jarvis Landry (hip) officially active for Thursday Night Football

As expected, Landry is active and will play in the Browns’ Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night. With all the weapons the Browns have on offense, Landry’s role will likely fluctuate week-to-week, and he only managed to rack up five receptions on six targets for 61 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens and was significantly behind Odell Beckham in the target market share. The absence of David Njoku, who was placed on injured reserve, for at least the next three weeks, could open up a few additional looks for Landry, making him a potentially intriguing stacking partner with Baker Mayfield on Thursday’s single-game slates across the daily fantasy industry.

Zach Pascal

New York Giants
9/17/20, 4:25 PM ET

Zach Pascal (ankle) and Michael Pittman Jr. (toe) limited in practice Thursday

Pascal returned to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday’s session with an ankle injury, while Pittman Jr. was downgraded to a limited participant with a toe ailment. There was never too much concern from beat writers on Pascal’s potential availability for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, and he’s currently on track to assume his usual number two wide receiver role opposite T.Y. Hilton this weekend. However, if either Pascal or Pittman are surprisingly inactive, it would clear the way for the other to see nearly all of the available routes on the outside, though they would still be the fourth or fifth option, at best, with Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines projected to be extremely involved in the passing game.

Brandin Cooks

Buffalo Bills
9/17/20, 5:49 PM ET

Brandin Cooks (quad) and Duke Johnson (ankle) limited in practice Thursday

Cooks and Johnson were limited participants in practice for a second consecutive day and appear to be on track to suit up for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens despite battling their respectful ailments. Cooks only managed to accumulate a 2-20-0 stat line on five targets in last Thursday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, so he’ll likely need to get in a full practice before he can seriously be considered in daily fantasy formats since he was only on the field for 57.1% of snaps in Week 1. Even if Cooks plays limited snaps again, his presence in the wide receiver corps essentially renders himself and Kenny Stills useless in fantasy since they’d essentially be splitting a full-time starting role.

James Conner

Arizona Cardinals
9/17/20, 5:31 PM ET

James Conner (ankle) practices in full Thursday

Conner returned to practice on Thursday and was a full participant after previously sitting out Wednesday’s session due to an ankle injury. During training camp, Conner was touted as the clear lead running back in the Steelers backfield by head coach Mike Tomlin and other members of the offensive coaching staff, but following Benny Snell Jr,‘s impressive stat lineup 119 yards on 19 carries in Monday night’s win over the New York Giants, it’s certainly plausible that first and second down work becomes much more of a timeshare than initially expected. Snell still only ran a route on 12.5% of passing plays in Week 1, so at the very least Conner should still monopolize the third-down work moving forward.

A.J. Brown

New England Patriots
9/17/20, 3:39 PM ET

A.J. Brown (knee) doesn't practice Thursday; Corey Davis (hamstring) limited

Brown didn’t participate in practice on Thursday, marking the second consecutive day that he’s been unable to do so with a knee injury. This doesn’t bode well for his potential availability for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he’s ultimately inactive, Corey Davis, who was limited today with a hamstring issue, would be the main beneficiary of the vacated target market share in the Titans offense, while Khalif Raymond would more likely fill-in at the other outside wide receiver position after running just seven total routes as the fourth wideout on the depth chart in Monday night’s loss. Jonnu Smith was also on the field for 72.7% of snaps and managed to see 17.5% of targets in that contest, making him an intriguing tight end option in daily fantasy formats if Brown is sidelined this weekend.

John Brown

Buffalo Bills
9/17/20, 1:09 PM ET

John Brown (foot) returns to practice Thursday

Brown returned to practice on Thursday and appears to be fully participating in individual and team drills after missing Wednesday’s session due to a foot injury. Brown managed to be on the field for 93 percent of snaps in Sunday’s Week 1 win over the New York Jets, so it certainly always seemed like the Bills for just giving a maintenance day to their veteran wide receiver, and if he is able to also practice Friday, there should be no concern about his availability for the Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Brown surprisingly out-targeted Stefon Diggs this past Sunday en route to a 6-70-1 stat line on 10 targets, but Diggs was still more efficient with his market share of passes as he recorded more receptions and yards than Brown and is firmly entrenched as Josh Allen’s top wide receiver moving forward.

Jamison Crowder

Washington Commanders
9/17/20, 1:39 PM ET

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) doesn't practice Thursday; RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) limited

Crowder reaggravated his hamstring injury in Wednesday’s practice, and he’ll be held out of Thursday’s session, putting his status for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in serious doubt. When asked by reporters, head coach Adam Gase didn’t know if Crowder would be able to suit up this weekend and stated that it depended on if he is “able to work” this week. This means that Crowder’s practice status on Friday will likely determine if he’s healthy enough to play in Week 2, and if he’s inactive, Chris Herndon and Breshad Perriman will likely be relied upon as the top two weapons in a depleted Jets offense with Le’Veon Bell and Denzel Mims already placed on short-term injured reserve earlier in the week.
