Cheap RB With A Workhorse-ish Role
Devonta Freeman has quietly carved out one of the better roles of RBs in fantasy this year, especially when you consider his price. Freeman accounts for 66% of the teams carries and nearly 12% of targets, which is extremely impressive considering he is in an offense with Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley and Austin Hooper. However, with Ito Smith expected to be out yet again, we could see a greater role for Freeman here. Last game, with Smith and Sanu gone, Freeman played 79% of snaps, saw 16% of targets and accounted for 77% of the teams carries. The Falcons continue to get the ball in Freeman’s hands, as he has seen no less than 15 touches in games where he was ejected, since week 1. The matchup is not an amazing one, but the workload is safe for Freeman and he should have no competition for the goal line work in this one.
Consistent WR in High Upside Matchup
Michael Thomas has been one of, if not the most, consistent WRs in the league so far this year, despite having a backup QB throwing to him for nearly half the season. Thomas is among the league leaders in targets, catches, and target share and now gets one of the best matchups he’s had so far this season against the Falcons.
