Update: Sony Michel traveled with the Patriots, still questionable for Sunday
Update: Sony Michel traveled with the Patriots, and remains questionable for Sunday’s week 10 matchup against the Titans. Keep an eye on his status tomorrow morning, as the Patriots often wait until the final injury-reporting deadline to confirm their players’ statuses. Should Michel return to action, look for him to return to his usual role handling the early down work out of the New England backfield, with James White continuing to handle RB pass-catching duties.
George Kittle (chest) will play Monday night
George Kittle will play Monday night despite his chest issue. With fellow pass-catcher Pierre Garcon already ruled out, look for Kittle and Marquise Goodwin to see the most targets in the 49ers passing attack. Look for Kittle to see his usual workload, making him one of the best tight end options on the weekend.
Pierre Garcon (knee) ruled out for Monday night
Pierre Garcon has been ruled out for Monday night due to a knee injury. The injury plagued season continues for the veteran wideout, opening up additional targets for the likes of Marquise Goodwin and George Kittle, who figure to lead the team in targets Monday night against the Giants. Dante Pettis may pick up a few looks as well in Garcon’s absence.
Jets place TE Neal Sterling (concussion) on IR
The Jets have placed TE Neal Sterling on IR due to his concussion. Look for Chris Herndon to be the primary tight end for the Jets moving forward and the only fantasy-relevant player the team has at the position.
Josh Allen (elbow) ruled out for Sunday, QB Matt Barkley is expected to start
Josh Allen has been ruled out for Sunday due to his elbow injury, and QB Matt Barkley is expected to get the start against the Jets. It appears the Bills have seen enough of Nathan Peterman, opting to give Barkley the reigns on the road for week 10. There isn’t much to be optimistic about for anyone on the Bills offense, and the change at QB does little to make anyone on the team fantasy-relevant. Look for the Jets DST to be a popular defensive option on the week 10 slate.
Other tagged players: Matt BarkleyJamison Crowder (ankle) downgraded to OUT for Sunday.
Jamison Crowder has been ruled out for the Redskins week 10 matchup with the Buccaneers due to an ankle injury. In his absence, look for a depleted Redskins offense to rely on Josh Doctson and Maurice Harris in the passing attack, with Jordan Reed also potentially seeing an uptick in targets due to the limited amount of receiving options. The remaining healthy bodies do have a favorable matchup against a terrible Tampa Bay secondary, so Harris and Doctson make for interesting value plays on the week 10 slate.
Jets activate QB Davis Webb from practice squad
The Jets have activated QB Davis Webb from the practice squad. This further confirms that Sam Darnold, who is currently listed as doubtful due to a foot injury, is appearing unlikely to be active for the Jets week 10 matchup with the Bills. Josh McCown is in line to start under center for the Jets, with Webb serving as the backup in Darnold’s absence.
Report: Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back) not expected to play Sunday
Rob Gronkowski is reportedly not expected to play Sunday due to his ongoing ankle and back issues. Look for Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman and James White to see the majority of the passing targets for the Patriots, with Dwayne Allen seeing most of the reps at the tight end position. Allen primary functions as a pass blocker when on the field, however, and isn’t a fantasy-relevant asset.
Chris Carson questionable for Week 10; Rams with a clean bill of health on the other side of this matchup
Chris Carson is questionable for Week 10 after not practicing Friday, and he appears to be genuinely iffy approaching the weekend. He has played the last few weeks while missing practice time so he’s likely closer to probable than doubtful, but it’s tough to peg at this stage. If Carson can’t go, expect Mike Davis to eat up the lion’s share of the backfield work and he’d step onto the DFS radar as a potential punt play. It’s worth noting this one is a late kickoff on Sunday afternoon, so we likely won’t have definitive word by the time main lock hits at 1:00 PM EST.
As reported by: Bob Condotta Other tagged players: Mike DavisReport: Joe Flacco (hip) in doubt for Week 11
Report: Joe Flacco is in doubt for Week 11 due to a hip injury. Flacco’s absence would obviously be a big knock to the Ravens offense as a whole, so keep an eye on his practice status next week to determine if he will be able to take the field. Lamar Jackson would be in line to handle QB duties if Flacco is unable to suit up.
George Kittle (chest) limited Friday, Pierre Garcon (knee) did not practice for 49ers.
George Kittle was limited Friday due to a chest injury, and Pierre Garcon (knee) did not practice for 49ers. Kittle seems to be on track to suit up and see his usual workload on Monday night against the Giants, while Garcon seems truly questionable as his injury plagued season continues. If Garcon is unable to suit up, look for Marquise Goodwin and Kittle to see additional targets from QB Nick Mullens.
Other tagged players: Pierre GarconRob Gronkowski (ankle, back) and Sony Michel (knee) questionable for Sunday for the Patriots. Cordarrelle Patterson (neck) will play.
Rob Gronkowski (ankle, back) and Sony Michel (knee) are both questionable for Sunday for the Patriots, while Cordarrelle Patterson (neck) will play. Michel and Gronk both appear more likely to play than not, although the Patriots injury reporting can always be difficult to trust. Assuming both Gronkowski and Michel are active, look for them to handle their usual workloads in the offense. If Michel were to be inactive, it would mean more carries for James White and Patterson out of the backfield. Dwayne Allen assumed the primary TE role in the absence of Gronkowski last week and would figure to do so again if Gronk can’t suit up, although Allen primarily serves as a pass blocker when on the field.
Other tagged players: Sony Michel, Cordarrelle PattersonTaywan Taylor (foot) and Tajae Sharp (ankle) both questionable for Sunday for the Titans
Taywan Taylor (foot) and Tajae Sharp (ankle) are both questionable for Sunday for the Titans. Taylor seems unlikely to suit up as he was unable to log a practice all week due to his injury. Sharpe, on the other hand, was able to log a limited practice Friday and appears on track to take the field. Look for Corey Davis to be the most heavily targeted Titans wideout, with Sharpe and Darius Jennings seeing some looks in Taylor’s potential absence.
Other tagged players: Tajae SharpeMarlon Mack (foot) will play Sunday
Marlon Mack will play Sunday for the Colts despite his foot injury. Mack will lead the attack out of the Colts backfield but will have his work cut out for him against a stout Jaguars run defense. Look for Mack to see the majority of the carries and goal line work, with Nyheim Hines functioning in a change-of-pace capacity.
Saints fear Dez Bryant tore his Achilles' tendon during Friday's practice
It appears the Dez Bryant in New Orleans era may have ended as quickly as it began, as the Saints fear Bryant tore his Achilles’ tendon during Friday’s practice. This would obviously sideline Bryant for the remainder of the season, and be a difficult mountain for the aging receiver to climb as he pursues suiting up again in the NFL.
