Carlos Hyde at the hospital awaiting birth of his child; still expected to play, we'll continue to update
Hyde is expecting the birth of his child at any minute and plans to come straight to the stadium from the hospital, according to reports. The running back is a risky play in the showdown slates until it is confirmed he has arrived at the field. Updates to come.

Landry had been dealing with a knee issue but it won’t keep him from playing.

The absences suggest neither player will play on Sunday against Los Angeles, though participation on Friday will offer the final verdict. Benjamin and Gates aren’t particularly desirable on their own, but if they do miss Week 3 then Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Tyrell Williams will all see a bump in targets. That said, going up against a tough Rams defense will be tough for the group and they are no more than contrarian GPP plays.

Goodwin returned to practice yesterday for the first time since suffering a deep thigh bruise in Week 1. His presence the past two days suggests he’ll play on Sunday against Kansas City, though his status at Friday’s practice will still need to be monitored.

The Vikings running back has yet to take the field this week, though he did manage some work on the side today. Participation in Friday’s practice will be huge for Cook as his hamstring injury lingers. Latavius Murray would be a top play across all sites against a weak Buffalo defense if Cook misses Sunday’s game.

The wide receiver was limited on Wednesday as well, and would probably need full participation on Friday to be active this weekend. With Mike Wallace out for the year, Nelson Agholor and Zach Ertz should see major targets against Indianapolis and are firmly in play across all sites.

Engram has been a limited participant for back-to-back days but is expected to play on Sunday. The tight end had a solid game last week and faces a decent matchup with Houston this weekend.

Freeman isn’t going to play this week and Tevin Coleman will lead the backfield once again. Jones’ calf injury is supposed to be minor, but an absence today is somewhat worrisome. Friday’s practice will be crucial for the star receiver, likely dictating his status for Sunday.

Just an addition to the update this morning that Bernard would practice. Full participation suggests he won’t have any issues suiting up on Sunday. The matchup on the road against Carolina isn’t ideal, but Bernard should be in line for a healthy workload filling in for Joe Mixon.

The veteran sat out Wednesday’s practice with the injury but will be on the field today. Fitzgerald was forced to leave in the third quarter against Los Angeles last week but coach Steve Wilks stressed the issue was minor. Fellow receiver Christian Kirk did not practice Thursday and was seen working with the trainer, and his absence Sunday would mean additional targets for Fitzgerald, who already earns a high volume of looks.

This group of Colts failed to practice on Wednesday as well, so their status is worth monitoring at Friday’s practice. Each is dealing with injuries thought to be relatively minor, and all three are expected to be active on Sunday. We’ve already seen how the backfield shakes out when Mack misses time (stay away), and Eric Ebron would step in if Doyle didn’t play.

Parker participated in practice on Wednesday so he should be available against Oakland, and Gase mentioned on Monday that the wide receiver “could have played” last week. Parker’s finger injury has kept him out the first two games of the season but he appears ready to make his debut on Sunday. His presence will likely result in fewer targets for Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson in what is already a low-volume passing offense.

Thursday’s absence for both players points toward Corey Clement leading the backfield against Indianapolis on Sunday, though further clarity will come with Friday’s practice report. If Clement is indeed named the starter, he would be an excellent play on DraftKings at $4,300. Wendell Smallwood would be in the mix as well, though he probably isn’t worth a look in fantasy lineups.

Rodgers was only able to do some rehab work on Thursday, though as we saw last week, he doesn’t need to practice in order to play on Sunday. He should be good to go against Washington this weekend and will be a solid option facing a weak secondary as long as owners can stomach the possibility of re-injury.
