MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, May 8
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Juan Soto
stevietpfl: Michael Conforto
TheLuuch: Randy Arozarena (FD) / Corbin Carroll (DK)
Alex Sonty: Ronald Acuna (FD) / Corbin Carroll (DK)
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
squirrelpatrol: I’ll go heavy on the cheaper pitchers—the lower the pOWN%, the better—using the money to spend up on my bats. Bad offenses have been more consistent than good pitchers this season, so I’ll continue targeting pitchers that are facing teams like the White Sox, Mariners, and Rockies (even in Coors Field).
stevietpfl: I want to be overweight on Chris Sale. I think he’s the clear-cut high-ceiling option. I’ll pair him with some George Kirby, Chris Paddack, and Jordan Hicks. Aaron Civale has struggled recently, but he has a great matchup. With him projected to be one of the highest-owned pitchers, I want to be underweight. As far as bats, I like Baltimore, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Cincinnati. I want to be underweight on the chalky Rays.
TheLuuch: I’m pretty much out on the entire mid-range of pitchers on DraftKings, from Aaron Civale ($8,800) to Jordan Montgomery ($7,700), for various reasons. Taking that stand will allow me to get one of the ace pitchers, gamble on a cheapie, and still have plenty of flexibility to create almost any stack I want.
Alex Sonty: I’m fading Coors for the Braves, who are projected for low ownership against the highly vulnerable Nick Pivetta. I love when Cincinnati is on the same slate as Coors because the Great American Ball Park habitually goes under-owned. I should be heavily exposed to Diamondbacks and Reds for that reason. The Astros bats are interesting too at single-digit pOWN% on a smaller slate.
