Pitcher Grind Down
Ervin Santana – Santana has been lights out this season with a 1.99 ERA and a K/9 of 9.7. Even though the Cardinals are ranked 20th against RH pitching this season, they are finally starting to hit the ball well over the last couple of weeks. The total for this game is low, but I think Lynn is the better starting pitching option in this game. Rating = 6
Lance Lynn – Lynn has a 3.83 ERA this season with a 1.31 WHIP and a K/9 of 9.6. Even though he has struggled in his 2 home starts this season, he was terrific at home last season with an ERA under 3.00. The Braves are a team that strikes out often and I have a feeling that Lynn pitches a gem this evening. Rating = 8
Batter Grind Down
Atlanta
Freddie Freeman – If you are targeting an Braves’ bats tonight, target the ones from the left side of the plate as Lynn has given up a .343 wOBA to LH batters over the last 2 seasons.
Additional Plays: Jason Heyward
St. Louis
Yadier Molina – The catcher position is always a tough one in daily fantasy baseball and my typical fallback when I’m unsure of who to take is either Yadier Molina or John Jaso. Molina hits LH and RH pitching well and is always batting in the middle of the order. He’s a nice play tonight if he’s not too expensive on the site(s) that you are playing on.
Additional Plays: Matt Holliday, Matt Carpenter

Pitcher Grind Down
Eric Stults / Jorge De La Rosa – If this series were taking in place in Petco Park, both pitchers would be decent fantasy options. Unfortunately for them, this series is taking place in Coors Field which is the most hitter friendly ballpark in baseball. Avoid both pitchers in this one. Rating =1
Batter Grind Down
San Diego
Jedd Gyorko – There are very few instances where the Padres are playing in a game that features a double-digit run total, so we have to take advantage while we can. Even though teams have struggled in Coors in their first game of the series, the Padres are too good of a value to pass on tonight.
Additional Plays: Chase Headley, Carlos Quentin
Colorado
Troy Tulowitzki – Tulo is back at home and the love fest for Tulo will be at an all-time high around the industry as he faces a an average LH pitcher in Stults. In case you have been hiding under a rock, Tulo has had a historic start at home this season batting .608 with a 1.77 OPS. Get him in your lineups tonight at all costs.
Additional Plays: The rest of the Rockies’ lineup.
LA Dodgers at Arizona

Pitcher Grind Down
Zack Greinke – Greinke has had one poor outing this season and has been absolutely dominant in his other 7 starts. On the season he has a 2.38 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP and a K/9 of 11.0. I typically like to avoid pitchers facing the D-Backs in the hitter friendly Chase Field, but I think Greinke makes a terrific play in a GPP. Rating = 7
Wade Miley – Miley has an ERA of 4.82 this season with a 1.21 WHIP. He draws a very tough matchup against the Dodgers who have a lot of power in their lineup. Even though the Dodgers haven’t been great against LH pitching as a team this season, guys like Hanley Ramirez and Yasiel Puig are terrific against southpaws. I’ll be avoiding Miley tonight. Rating = 4
Batter Grind Down
L.A. Dodgers
Yasiel Puig – Since the start of last season Miley has given up a .323 wOBA to RH batters. Puig is a rare combination of incredible power and incredible speed. Puig has 7 HR’s on the season and 4 SB’s. He’s also batting .323 against LH pitching. He is my top OF play tonight.
Additional Plays: Hanley Ramirez
Arizona
I’m not too crazy about any of the D-Backs’ hitters tonight against Greinke. Paul Goldschmidt is in play for GPP’s, but that’s pretty much the only exposure that I will have to the D-Backs’ tonight.

Pitcher Grind Down
Chris Archer – Archer has really struggled on the road this season with a 6.35 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP. I expect him to pick it up here soon as he has proven that he can be a very good big league pitcher. I’m not banking on that happening tonight against the Angels though. Rating = 4
Jered Weaver – Weaver has pitched well this season with a 3.22 ERA and a K/9 of 7.2. He is a sizable favorite tonight against the Rays who are ranked 12th against RH pitching this season. Weaver is in play on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
Tampa Bay
Evan Longoria – Even though Weaver is a RHP, he has given up a higher wOBA and OPS to RH batters than he has to LH batters over the last 2 seasons. Longo hits RH pitching well and always has great upside thanks to his power.
Additional Plays: Wil Myers
L.A. Angels
Mike Trout – Even though Archer has historically been much better against RH batters than he has against LH batters, Trout is my top play here. He hit a walk-off HR against the Rays last night and should be considered right up there with Puig as the top options in the OF tonight.
Additional Plays: Albert Pujols, Erick Aybar

Pitcher Grind Down
Henderson Alvarez – After throwing a complete game shutout against the Mets, I was finally turning into a believer. Then he went out and gave up 5 earned runs to the worst offense in baseball in the most pitcher friendly park in baseball. Alvarez is a huge underdog here and doesn’t have enough upside to make him a viable option tonight. Rating = 5
Yusmeiro Petit – Petit has a 4.85 ERA on the season with a K/9 of 9.0. While his numbers don’t neccessarily jump out at you, what jumps out at me is the fact that he is a -135 favorite. I think he makes a terrific value play on multi-pitcher sites as this Marlins’ offense has really struggled on the road this season. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
Miami
Giancarlo Stanton – Stanton makes a decent play if you don’t have very much faith in Petit. Petit has given up a .324 wOBA to RH batters over the last 2 seasons and we all know the upside that Stanton provides.
Additional Plays: None
San Francisco
Buster Posey – Posey is another catcher option that you can never really go wrong with. He hits both RH and LH pitching well and he is very good at home. He’s a solid option if the price is cheap on the site(s) that you are playing on.
Additional Plays: Hunter Pence
