NHL GPP Plays: Tuesday, December 15th

rotogrinders_user_21697

Every Tuesday and Thursday I am going to give you my top tournament plays for all Daily Fantasy Hockey GPPs (guaranteed prize pool). GPPs are a general term used across the industry for your big money tournaments.

GPPs are very different from your cash games and you use a different strategy with them. In our GPPs we are not interested in safe plays, since GPPs are all about UPSIDE. We want players who can explode, as all-or-nothing type players can become GPP gold, and your value players are just as important as your star players. You need your players to have huge nights in order to take down these big tournaments.

My goal is to provide players who will be under-owned and have that big game upside you are looking for. I will also try to find as much value as I possibly can. Now, let’s get to the FanDuel NHL GPP plays!

Goaltenders

Make sure to check the RotoGrinders Starting Goalies Page prior to game time, to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting.

michal-neuvirth-300x200

Michal Neuvirth, Philadelphia Flyers – Neuvirth has been one of the few bright spots for the Philadelphia Flyers this season (2.00 GAA, .939 SV%). The 27-year-old Czech has been outstanding in the month of December (1.86 GAA, .939 SV%) and I love his potential versus the Carolina Hurricanes this evening. Neuvirth has big game upside and he won’t be heavily owned in tournament play.

Other Goalies To Target – Dustin Tokarski, Anders Nilsson, Linus Ullmark, Connor Hellebuyck

Forwards

Teuvo Teravainen, Chicago Blackhawks – Teravainen oozes offensive upside and he has looked very good since being promoted to the Blackhawks’ top line. The Colorado Avalanche remain the league’s worst possession team, which will lead to plenty of scoring opportunities for Chicago’s offense. The talented 21-year-old Finnish native has multi-point upside at a very reasonable price.

valeri-nichushkin-300x200

Valeri Nichushkin, Dallas Stars – The Columbus Blue Jackets are compete mess right now. They have not only lost their star goalie, but also four games in a row and seven of their last eight. Tonight they will face a Dallas Stars team that leads the NHL in goals per game, and they have to stop them with sieve Curtis McElhinney in net. This game could get ugly and you will want exposure to exposure to the Stars’ explosive top line. Nichushkin has big time upside at a bargain price.

Sam Reinhart, Lee Stempniak and Elias Lindholm – All three of these players are inexpensive and play on their team’s top line. Whether you plan to stack their entire line as a cheap line stack or use them as a “one off”, all three have multi-point upside at a discount.

Other Forwards To Target – Frans Nielsen, Nathan MacKinnon, Bryan Little, Leon Draisaitl, Kevin Hayes, Daniel Sedin, Teddy Purcell, Jaromir Jagr, Jeff Skinner

Defensemen

dan-boyle-300x200

Dan Boyle, New York RangersDan Boyle has become fantasy relevant again. Back on the New York Rangers number one power play unit, Boyle has produced two goals and four points in his last three contests. Boyle makes a great GPP option versus the Oilers, who might be the worst defensive team in the game right now.

Other Defensemen To Target – Justin Faulk, Nick Leddy, Rasmus Ristolainen, Damon Severson, Dmitry Kulikov, Justin Schultz, Noah Hanifin
