Caleb Martin (health protocols) ruled out Saturday; Duncan Robinson (quad) available
Caleb Martin (health protocols) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, while Duncan Robinson (quad) is available. With how thin the Heat are already there is no one person that will benefit from Martin’s absence. His expected minutes will be split around the whole team making them all better plays. Duncan Robinson, as expected, will be available tonight and should continue to start and even pick up a few extra minutes with Martin out.
As reported by: Miami Heat Other tagged players: Duncan RobinsonWill Barton (illness) now listed questionable Saturday
Will Barton (illness) is now listed questionable for Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. If Barton were to miss, the biggest benefactors from a FPM perspective would be Monte Morris (.11 increase), Jeff Green (.08) and Facundo Campazzo (.06) making them all slightly better plays. From a minutes perspective the extra time would likely go to Campazzo, Bones Hyland, JaMychal Green, and Davon Reed strengthening their value. It will be important to keep an eye on the injury reports as they are released to see if Barton’s status is updated further, prior to lock.
As reported by: Official NBA Injury ReportJaren Jackson Jr. (knee) doubtful Saturday
Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is now considered doubtful for Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets. With Jackson likely out and some forward minutes looking to be filled, Kyle Anderson, Xavier Tillman, and Killian Tillie should see some increased run and can be considered better plays on today’s slate. Kyle Anderson and Xavier Tillman should be considered the top options out of this group, especially with Tillman’s center eligibility.
As reported by: Evan BarnesNicolas Batum (ankle) ruled out Saturday
As expected after being listed as doubtful on the injury report Nicolas Batum has been ruled out for Saturday’s contest against the Orlando magic. With Batum out Isaiah Hartenstein and Serge Ibaka will likely see a few more minutes than normal increasing their value. Some backend rotation players like Justise Winslow or Amir Coffey could even see some run but not enough to be DFS relevant.
As reported by: Farbod EsnaashariKevin Porter Jr. (thigh), Eric Gordon (groin), and Danuel House (ankle) all ruled out Saturday
Kevin Porter Jr. (thigh), Eric Gordon (groin), and Danuel House (ankle) have all been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Porter Jr., House, and even Gordon to an extent were all not expected to play today, opening up some value on the Houston. Armoni Brooks and Garrison Matthews should continue to play high minutes and see plenty of opportunities making them better plays. Along with Matthews and Brooks, D.J. Augustin and Josh Christopher should see some extended run as the Rockets try to fill guard minutes making them better plays as value options based strictly on expected minutes.
As reported by: Official NBA Injury Report Other tagged players: Eric Gordon, Danuel House Jr.Dillon Brooks (health protocols) available to play Saturday
Dillon Brooks (health protocols) is available to play Saturday against the Houston Rockets after clearing the league’s health and safety protocols. Brooks should return to playing minutes in the low 30s and being one of the focal points of the Memphis offense. This will sap the extra minutes that were picked up by Kyle Anderson, Xavier Tillman, Killian Tillie, and Jarrett Culver hurting their value. They should all return to their normal roles in the rotation.
As reported by: Marc SteinKyle Kuzma (health protocols) listed out Saturday
Kyle Kuzma (health protocols) has been listed out for Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz. With Kuzma off the floor, the biggest benefactors from a FPM perspective are Montrezl Harrell (.27 FPM increase), Bradley Beal (.12), and Spencer Dinwiddie (.10). Also with Kuzma out, Deni Avdija and Davis Bertans should see more minutes increasing their value. Both can be considered as value options as they are both near the minimum on DK.
As reported by: Official NBA Injury ReportRudy Gay (personal) status uncertain Saturday
Rudy Gay (personal) was not present at early shootaround for the Jazz and his status is uncertain for Saturday’s game against the Washington Wizards. If Gay were to be ruled out it’s likely that Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson could see a few more minutes off the bench along with Eric Paschall re-entering the rotation. Ingles and Clarkson would become slightly better plays but Paschall would not be expected to see enough playing time to be DFS relevant.
As reported by: Eric WaldenDennis Schroder (ankle) available to play Friday; Josh Richardson (health protocols) ruled out
Even though Schroder was a late addition to the Celtics’ injury report, he’s been cleared to play and will be available for Friday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns despite dealing with an ankle injury, while Richardson was previously ruled out when he entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols earlier this afternoon. With Jaylen Brown also still sidelined with lingering hamstring tightness, the Celtics are suddenly a bit thin at the wing positions, which should elevate Romeo Langford and Aaron NeSmith into more prominent roles off the bench in the second unit whereas Schroder and Marcus Smart should be relied upon to handle most, if not all, of the point guard responsibilities this evening.
As reported by: Jay King via Twitter Other tagged players: Josh RichardsonDeandre Ayton (illness) ruled out Friday
Following his late addition to the Suns’ injury report, Ayton has unsurprisingly been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics due to a non-COVID related illness, while Chandler Hutchison has been recalled from his G-League assignment and will be available off the bench in tonight’s contest. With Ayton unable to suit up, JaVale McGee will receive the starting nod at the center position, and while he’s never really had a long leash as a starter in the past, he should be given the opportunity to play as many minutes he can handle with Frank Kaminsky sidelined for the rest of the season and Jalen Smith being the only other big body available off the Phoenix bench this evening.
As reported by: Gerald Bourguet via TwitterAnthony Davis (knee) ruled out Friday
Davis was included in the Lakers’ initial injury report as questionable but has now been ruled out of Friday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a sore left knee, while LeBron James continues to be listed as probable with a rectus abdominis strain prior to every game. With Davis being held out on the second leg of a back-to-back set, Dwight Howard will more than likely rejoin the starting lineup at center in his place. However, with DeAndre Jordan available off the bench behind him and head coach Frank Vogel’s willingness to play without a traditional big man the last time Davis was unavailable, Howard will have a volatile minute floor, albeit, accompanied by an achievable ceiling in daily fantasy formats across the industry this evening.
As reported by: Dave McMenamin via TwitterNick Richards (illness) and PJ Washington (illness) ruled out Friday
Richards is yet another addition to the Hornets’ injury report and has been ruled out of Friday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings due to a non-COVID related illness, while Washington was downgraded from doubtful to out, as expected, because of the same illness. The Hornets are now hilariously thin, especially in the frontcourt, so it seems plausible that they’ll try to play smaller for long stretches of tonight’s contest even if someone like Kai Jones or Vernon Carey Jr. ends up receiving the starting nod at center. The main four rotation players remaining, Kelly Oubre Jr., Gordon Hayward, Miles Bridges, and Cody Martin all figure to continue flirting with 40 minutes once again this evening.
As reported by: Charlotte Hornets PR via Twitter Other tagged players: PJ WashingtonAnthony Davis (knee) questionable Friday
Davis has been included in the Lakers’ initial injury report and is currently listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a sore left knee, while LeBron James continues to be listed as probable with a rectus abdominis strain prior to every game. If Davis is unable to suit up or is held out for precautionary reasons on the second leg of a back-to-back set, Dwight Howard would more than likely rejoin the starting lineup at center in his place.
As reported by: Dan Woike via TwitterDeandre Ayton (illness) downgraded to questionable Friday
Ayton has been added to the Suns’ injury report and is currently listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics due to a non-COVID related illness, while Chandler Hutchison has been recalled from his G-League assignment and will be available to play in tonight’s contest. If Ayton is unable to suit up, JaVale McGee will almost certainly receive the starting nod at the center position, and while he’s never really had a long leash as a starter in the past, he should be given the opportunity to play as many minutes he can handle with Frank Kaminsky sidelined for the rest of the season and Jalen Smith being the only other big body available off the Phoenix bench this evening.
As reported by: Gerald Bourguet via TwitterKyle Anderson (back) available to play Thursday
Unsurprisingly, Anderson has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Thursday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers after missing multiple games due to back soreness. With Anderson returning to the lineup for tonight’s contest, his presence in the second unit should relegate at least one or two of Santi Aldama, Xavier Tillman, John Konchar, or Killian Tillie from the rotation entirely since head coach Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins would preferably like to lean on his primary seven rotation players with Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, and Ziaire Williams all still sidelined with their respective ailments.
