Norman Powell (nose) available and will start Saturday
As expected, Norman Powell will be available for the Portland Trail Blazers tonight when they take on the Boston Celtics. Powell is one of the best plays on the slate as he and C.J. McCollum should continue to lead Portland without Damian Lillard. Powell should be considered in all formats.
As reported by: Sean GrandeRomeo Langford (ankle) ruled out Saturday
Romeo Langford (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers joining Jaylen Brown and Al Horford. With Langford out, Aaron Nesmith should absorb the bulk of his minutes with Jabari Parker also likely seeing increased run as the Celtics are down so many bodies. Neither Parker nor Nesmith should be considered for DFS contests tonight.
As reported by: Keith SmithHarrison Barnes (foot) ruled out Saturday; Marvin Bagley (illness) will play, though HC not sure how many minutes
Harrison Barnes (foot) has been ruled out Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers while Marvin Bagley will be available to play but HC Alvin Gentry is unsure of how many minutes. Bagley will be limited in all likelihood as he makes his return from a non-covid related illness. With Barnes out and Bagley limited, Chimeze Metu should once again log a good amount of minutes Saturday and can be considered in most DFS formats as a solid option.
As reported by: James Ham Other tagged players: Marvin BagleyBrandon Clarke (knee) and Ziaire Williams (knee) ruled out Saturday
Brandon Clarke (knee) and Ziaire Williams (knee) have both been ruled out Saturday against the Dallas Mavericks. Their minutes should be absorbed by Santi Aldama and John Konchar who both can be considered as value options on tonight’s slate.
As reported by: Memphis Grizzlies Other tagged players: Ziaire WilliamsDeMarcus Cousins (foot) listed available to play Saturday; George Hill (knee) and Grayson Allen listed out
DeMarcus Cousins (foot) listed available to play Saturday against the Miami Heat while George Hill (knee) and Grayson Allen (illness) are both listed out. Cousins should be in line to play about 10-15 backup big man minutes. With Hill and Allen out Rodney Hood, Wesley Matthews, Jordan Nwora, and Justin Robinson should all fill in for their vacated minutes.
As reported by: Official NBA Injury Report Other tagged players: George Hill, Grayson AllenWesley Matthews available to play Saturday
Wesley Matthews will be available to play for the Milwaukee Bucks Saturday against the Miami Heat. It is not known how much Coach Budenholzer is expected to play Matthews but it might be contingent on George Hill’s availability, who is now considered a GTD. Matthews will most likely be eased back into minutes and could take some minutes away from Rodney Hood and the other wings but could be forced to play more minutes out of necessity due to a lack of guards available for the Bucks tonight.
As reported by: Eric NehmGiannis Antetokounmpo (calf) ruled out Saturday
As expected after being listed doubtful, Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Miami Heat. With Giannis out, Pat Connaughton will likely enter the starting lineup, and Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and Bobby Portis will all become much better DFS plays based on increased expected production. Sandro Mamukelashili and Thanasis Antetokounmpo should also see some big man minutes off the bench. Demarcus Cousins and George Hill both remain game-time decisions.
As reported by: Eric NehmCam Thomas (thigh) available to play Saturday; James Johnson (shoulder) now questionable
Cam Thomas (thigh) will be available to play Saturday while James Johnson (shoulder) is now questionable. Thomas should be in line to see his normal minutes in the high teens to low 20s and can be considered as a value play, but there are better options on the slate. James Johnson is dealing with some shoulder soreness and is now questionable, if he were to miss Bruce Brown could see some more minutes as well as Blake Griffin possibly. It is worth noting that Head Coach Steve Nash stated that with how small Chicago plays Griffin might not see much of an increase.
As reported by: Billy Reinhardt Other tagged players: James JohnsonDevin Vassell (quad) and Keita Bates-Diop (ankle) ruled out Saturday
As expected after being listed as doubtful, both Devin Vassell (quad) and Keita Bates-Diop (ankle) have been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Vasselll and Bates-Diop were not expected to play much of a role after the return of Doug McDermott so there absence shouldn’t have too much of an effect for DFS players. McDermott, Lonnie Walker, and Thaddeus Young should soak up most of their minutes.
As reported by: Paul Garcia Other tagged players: Keita Bates-DiopLuka Doncic (ankle), Kristaps Porzingis (knee), and Willie Cauley-Stein (personal) ruled out Saturday
Luka Doncic (ankle), Kristaps Porzingis (knee), and Willie Cauley-Stein (personal) have all been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. With Luka and Kristaps out the Mavericks will be without their top two players in terms of usage rate meaning almost every member of the Mavericks should see an increase in production. Jalen Brunson becomes one of the top options on the slate along with Tim Hardaway Jr., Reggie Bullock, and Maxi Kleber seeing sizable boosts. Both Dwight Powell and Boban Marjanovic could see increased minutes as well with Porzingis’s big man minutes vacated.
As reported by: Dallas Mavericks Other tagged players: Kristaps Porzingis, Willie Cauley-SteinCam Thomas (thigh) probable Saturday
Cam Thomas (thigh) is probable for Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bulls. Thomas is expected to play around 20 minutes tonight despite dealing with a thigh injury. Thomas is expected to play a role off the Brooklyn bench and can be considered as a value play but there are likely better options even on a condensed slate.
As reported by: Alex SchifferNerlens Noel (knee) listed available Saturday
Nerlens Noel (knee) has been listed available for Saturday’s game against the Denver Nuggets. Noel seemed to be trending in the right direction to play but and this listing confirms his availability. Noel’s presence will be big for the Knicks as they face off against reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. With Noel cleared, it should mean less minutes for Mitchell Robinson and Taj Gibson limiting both of their upsides in DFS contests.
As reported by: Official NBA Injury ReportRJ Barrett (illness) will play Saturday; Nerlens Noel (knee) a game-time decision
RJ Barrett (illness) will play Saturday against the Denver Nuggets while Nerlens Noel (knee) remains a game-time decision. Noel seems to be trending in the right direction to play but will go through warmups before a decsion is made. Noel would be big for the Knicks as they face off against reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. If Noel is cleared it would mean less minutes for Mitchell Robinson and Taj Gibson hurting both of their values. Barrett should return to his role in the starting lineup for the Knicks and see heavy minutes. He should definitely be considered if playing the early game showdown slate and his return should impact the value of the other Knicks guards and wings.
As reported by: Steve Popper Other tagged players: Nerlens NoelKevin Porter Jr. (thigh) listed available Friday
Porter Jr. has officially been upgraded from questionable and is now listed as available for Friday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic despite dealing with a sprained right ankle that forced him to leave midway through the second quarter of Wednesday’s win. There haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction for Porter, but if he’s limited or somehow suffers a setback with the injury, Armoni Brooks figures to be the primary beneficiary of additional playing time as he started the second half in place of Porter in the Rockets’ previous game and logged just over 17 minutes of action in the second half alone.
As reported by: NBA Official Injury ReportKarl-Anthony Towns (tailbone) and Jaden McDaniels (illness) ruled out Friday
Towns went through pre-game warmups, but he’s been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Friday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to a tailbone contusion, while McDaniels will miss another game with a non-COVID illness. In Towns’ absence, Naz Reid will receive the starting nod at the center position, and with extraordinarily little NBA experience behind him on the bench, he should have a high minute floor as a member of the first unit in tonight’s contest. The other impact of Towns being sidelined is the devoid of usage he leaves behind, which makes Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell elite options as spend ups for all daily fantasy contests across the industry this evening.
