As expected, Gay will be available to play in Wednesday’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans after missing three games due to an illness, while DeMarre Carroll has already been ruled out and will miss a second straight contest with an illness as well. In Gay’s absence, Marco Belinelli and Lonnie Walker IV had taken on a larger role in the second unit, but with Gay back in the fold, they both will see a reduction in playing time and one of them could possibly even accrue a DNP-CD in tonight’s contest. Gay rarely is allotted enough minutes to become relevant in tournament formats, but he is priced cheaply enough on daily fantasy sites to at least be considered on a 12-game slate since he owns a 20.8% usage rate and is averaging 1.00 DraftKings and 0.98 FanDuel points per minute on the season thus far.

Gary Harris (adductor) listed questionable Wednesday
Harris has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable on the Nuggets’ injury report for Wednesday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets due to a strained right adductor that has already forced him to miss four games, while Mason Plumlee, Paul Millsap, and Jamal Murray were all previously ruled out with their respective ailments. This will leave the Nuggets extremely thin at the center position, and head coach Michael Malone already confirmed that he plans to distribute real rotation minutes to Jarred Vanderbilt to help fill the void behind Nikola Jokic, though he’s unlikely to have a significant role given Jerami Grant’s ability to fill in as a small-ball center in smaller lineup combinations. Even if Harris is cleared to play, Torrey Craig is likely to maintain a sizable role in the rotation for at least one more game since Malone hasn’t been shy about using Craig to guard James Harden in previous matchups with at least some success.

As expected, Leonard and George won’t play in Wednesday’s second leg of a back-to-back set against the Atlanta Hawks, while Beverley has also been ruled out with a sore right groin that forced him to exit in the closing seconds of the second quarter in Tuesday’s win. Lou Williams ended up replacing Beverley at point guard to begin the second half, and he went on to put together a solid fantasy performance in 32 minutes of action. Head coach Doc Rivers has been hesitant to take Williams out of his usual sixth-man role, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see someone like Jerome Robinson or Derrick Walton Jr. receive the starting nod at point guard, and Robinson totaled just over 15 minutes in last night’s contest. Given the nature of the Clippers rotation, Williams spends plenty of time on the court without Leonard, George, and Beverley, and he’s been phenomenal in these minutes, as he owns a 34.9% usage rate, 41.0% assist rate, and is averaging 1.49 DraftKings and 1.38 FanDuel points per minute in a 353.1 minutes sample size.

The last time Young was sidelined, Brandon Goodwin ended up receiving the start at point guard and was serviceable from a fantasy perspective in 27 minutes of action, but he’s seen his role in the rotation essentially evaporate in the two games since Jeff Teague made his Hawks debut. Teague has only recorded 36.6 minutes in a Hawks uniform this season, but in that limited time, he has a 24.0% usage rate, 38.1% assist rate, and is averaging 0.96 DraftKings and 0.90 FanDuel points per minute, which would make him an elite value option across the daily fantasy industry if Young is unable to suit up this evening.

Pasecniks has officially been downgraded from questionable and won’t play in Wednesday’s matchup against the Miami Heat due to a sprained left ankle that has now forced him to miss two games, while Moritz Wagner, Rui Hachimura, and Garrison Mathews all remain sidelined with their respective ailments. Pasecniks had seen his role in the rotation become much more volatile in recent games with the return of Thomas Bryant and Davis Bertans to the frontcourt mix, and he’s played as little as two minutes and as many as 23 minutes in his last three contests. Bryant finally eclipsed the 20-minute mark for the first time since returning from injury in Monday’s win, so with Pasecniks unavailable, Ian Mahinmi remains an intriguing tournament target at the center position, as he should have a more stable minute floor and is averaging 1.01 DraftKings and 1.05 FanDuel points per minute on the season thus far.

Tonight Zion Williamson will make his debut in the NBA. Coming off of a knee injury, he is sure to be limited in minutes, but the Pelicans would not risk playing him now if he wasn’t 100% healthy and had his trademark explosiveness intact. He was a phenomenal per minute fantasy producer in college, and if we catch a glimpse of that in his 20 minutes tonight, he will be well worth this minuscule price tag on FanDuel and DraftKings.

After returning from injury on January 13, Marvin Bagley has played in 4 games and he has exceeded 30 minutes in 3 of the 4. Bagley hit 12+points in each game and piled on nice rebound numbers, including 15 boards last game. He is priced fairly on most sites except FanDuel, where his salary sits at a bargain price of only $5,100. Bagley is a particularly fantastic value on FD.
Kristaps Porzingis (knee) will play Tuesday
As expected, Porzingis has been cleared and will play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers after missing 10 games due to a sore left knee. Head coach Rick Carlisle did confirm with reporters at his pregame media availability that he expects Porzingis to start but the plan is for him to play in shorter stints than normal opposed to a hard cap on his total minutes in tonight’s contest. Maxi Kleber had started the previous four games at power forward in place of Porzingis, but he’ll head back to the bench following several solid fantasy performances in an average of 29.6 minutes over this span. Porzingis didn’t exactly get priced at a discount on daily fantasy sites, so he may be difficult to target even on a one-game slate, but he still does own a 25.4% usage rate, a 15.3% rebound rate, and is averaging 1.16 DraftKings and 1.17 FanDuel points per minute on the season thus far.

Green was a late addition to the Warriors injury report, and head coach Steve Kerr stated he is unlikely to play in Monday’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers due to an illness, while Robinson III will miss a second straight game with a sprained right ankle. Kerr did disclose that Green will be active but will only see the court in the event of an emergency, which will allow Alec Burks and Eric Paschall to remain in the starting lineup for at least one more game after each logged at least 32 minutes of action in Saturday’s win. Omari Spellman has seen his playing time dissipate in the Warriors previous two contests, but he has benefitted the most with all of the injured Warriors off the court, as he owns a 19.1% usage rate and is averaging 1.04 DraftKings and 1.04 FanDuel points per minute in a 276.7 minutes sample size.

In Oubre’s absence, Mikal Bridges ended up receiving the start at small forward on both occasions, and he is coming off of a stellar fantasy and real-life performance in just under 41 minutes of action in Saturday’s win. Oubre isn’t exactly priced at a discount on daily fantasy sites, but if he isn’t subject to a minutes restriction, he’s exhibited the upside to be considered in tournament formats on a nightly basis, as he owns a 22.8% usage rate and is averaging 0.98 DraftKings and 0.98 FanDuel points per minute on the season thus far.

As expected, Crabbe will be available to make his Timberwolves debut in Monday’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets after missing one game due to an illness, while Jake Layman remains sidelined with a sprained left toe and is still without a timetable for a return. Without Crabbe available for the previous two games, head coach Ryan Saunders condensed his rotation to just nine players, but Andrew Wiggins, Jarret Culver, and Robert Covington were still the only starters to eclipse the 30-minute mark over this span, and now that Crabbe is cleared to play, he should begin siphoning playing time from the likes of Jordan McLaughlin, Keita Bates-Diop, and Josh Okogie moving forward. Meanwhile, Karl-Anthony Towns still hasn’t logged more than 28 minutes in either contest since returning from a 15-game injury layoff, so he’ll be a difficult player to trust in any daily fantasy format until the Timberwolves show they’re willing to extend him to his normal minute workload prior to the aforementioned absence.

Rondo has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Monday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics after missing three games due to a non-displaced fracture in his right finger, while Anthony Davis has also been cleared to return from a five-game absence because of a Gluteus Maximus contusion. Head coach Frank Vogel confirmed with reporters that Davis will be limited to 28 minutes in his first game back, but he’ll still take over the starting power forward role from Kyle Kuzma this evening. Kuzma had some down performances while Davis was sidelined, but he was mostly solid for fantasy purposes in an average of 32.7 minutes over that span. Davis isn’t exactly priced at a discount across daily fantasy sites, but he’s always in consideration for tournament formats since he has a 29.5% usage rate, a 14.5% rebound rate, and is averaging 1.45 DraftKings and 1.50 FanDuel points per minute on the season thus far.

In their absences, Marcus Smart started both games in the backcourt, and he was phenomenal from a fantasy perspective in an average of 34.8 minutes over the previous two contests, which isn’t too abnormal from his typical minute workload off the bench on a game-to-game basis. There haven’t been any reports of a potential minute restriction for either Walker or Brown, so Smart will almost certainly head back to the bench to assume his normal sixth man role, which essentially relegates all Celtics to tournament-only targets on tonight’s five-game slate.
