Patrick McCaw available to play Saturday
Patrick McCaw has been out the whole playoffs with a back injury, but he’s available to play tonight for game six versus the Rockets. Although, from listening to Steve Kerr’s pregame chat with the media it sounds very unlikely that McCaw will get into the game tonight. This is good news for McCaw and the Warriors going forward, if they make it to the final.
As reported by: Mark Medina via twitterAndre Iguodala ruled out Saturday
Andre Iguodala will miss his third straight game, with a leg injury. Kevon Looney has started the last two games for Iguodala. In those two games, he has averaged four points and four rebounds per game in 24 minutes of action. Looney still makes for a nice value play on this slate, even though he hasn’t produced much it the last couple games. Jordan Bell, Quinn Cook, and David West will continue to see a couple more minutes off the bench.
As reported by: Chris Haynes via TwitterAndre Iguodala (leg) ruled out Thursday; Klay Thompson (knee) will play
Iguodala will miss his second consecutive game, according to head coach Steve Kerr, and won’t suit up for Thursday’s Game 5 matchup with the Houston Rockets due to a left lateral leg contusion. While Iguodala will be considered day-to-day moving forward, Klay Thompson has been cleared to play and should presumably start at his normal shooting guard position this evening. In Tuesday’s loss, Kevon Looney ended up drawing the start alongside Draymond Green and Kevin Durant in the frontcourt and logged 26 minutes of action, making him a viable tournament option in daily fantasy contests across the industry. The continued absence of Iguodala will leave the Warriors relatively thin at the wing positions, and with Nick Young struggling to produce off the bench, expect Green, Durant, and even Curry to maintain heavy minute workloads for the second consecutive game.
As reported by: Warriors PR via Twitter Other tagged players: Klay ThompsonKlay Thompson expected to play Thursday, Andre Iguodala a game-time decision
Klay Thompson is expected to play tonight for game 5 versus Houston. Thompson hurt his knee in game 4, but he returned to action. Doesn’t seem like this injury is to serous, expect Thompson to play his normal minutes tonight. Andre Iguodala will be questionable for tonight’s game. He miss the last game with an leg injury. Kevon Looney started for Iguodala and played 26 minutes, but finished with just 4 points and 5 rebounds.
As reported by: Anthony Slater via TwitterAron Baynes will start for Marcus Morris tonight
The Celtics will switch up the starting lineup for tonight’s game 5 versus Cleveland. Marcus Morris started the 1st four games of the series, but on Tuesday Aron Baynes will start for Morris. Baynes started for the 1st two series. Obviously this makes Baynes a more attractive play, and Morris has less appeal now. Last game Baynes started he played 25 minutes, and Morris played 25 minutes off the bench.
As reported by: Tom Westerholm via twitterKevon Looney will start for Andre Iguodala Tuesday
With Andre Iguodala out with a knee injury Kevon Looney will get the start Tuesday. Looney is by far the best value play on this slate, he is minunum price on both sites. Nick Young will also get some extra run tonight, and may be worth a shot in a tournament.
As reported by: Anthony Slater via TwitterAndre Iguodala ruled out Tuesday
The Warriors will be without Andre Iguodala for game four tonight versus the Houston. Iguodala is dealing with a knee injury, he was listed doubtful yesterday, but was upgraded to questionable earlier today. Look for Kevon Looney to most likely start for Iguodala, Nick Young will also get some extra minutes tonight.
As reported by: Tim MacMahon via twitterAndre Iguodala now questionable Tuesday
Andre Iguodala is now questionable for tonight’s game four versus the Rockets. Iguodala was tagged doubtful yesterday, but a MRI confirmed there isn’t any structural damage in his knee. If Iguodala is unable to go, Kevon Looney and Nick Young will pick up Iguodala’a minutes. If Iguodala plays tonight, he’s an risky play because of the injury risk.
As reported by: Anthony Slater via TwitterTristan Thompson will start Tuesday, Kyle Korver to the bench
After the blowout lost in game 1, the Cavaliers will shake up the starting lineup tonight for game 2. Tristan Thompson will start, and Kyle Korver will head to the bench. Thompson was one of the lone bright spots for the Cavs in game 1. He finished with 8 points and 11 rebounds in 21 minutes of action. Cleveland also needs Thompson, to defend Al Horford. Thompson is about minimum salary on both DK and FD.
As reported by: Dave McMenamin via twitterOne-Game Slate = You Need To Pay For This Player
On one-game slates, I always want to have the top projected scorer on the slate in the majority of lineups. That guy for me tonight is James Harden. There are obviously a handful of options that can compete with him for that crown tonight, but I’ll take my chances more often than not with Harden leading this Rockets team as small favorites over the Warriors. I expect him to come out and try to make a statement in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
The Forgotten Stud?
I think Draymond is the forgotten man on this slate with all of the other star power available. We know we can count on around 40 minutes from him at this point in the playoffs, and we are less dependent on him scoring than some of the other options. However, if he happens to score points that are on the higher end of the range of outcomes, while including a ton of steals/blocks, you are looking at a pretty high ceiling here. We already know the floor is high due to the insane minutes and ability to contribute in multiple statistical categories.
More Minutes in this Series
Trevor Ariza was quiet down the stretch of the regular season and he didn’t do much against the Jazz. The matchup against the Warriors should lead to a few more minutes per game, as he’ll be tasked with defending Kevin Durant. Ariza averaged 36 minutes per game against the Warriors during the regular season. While he only averaged 19 fantasy points in those outings, his price is low enough that 20 fantasy points would reach value.
Better Matchup for this Shooter
Eric Gordon wasn’t very good in the series against the Jazz, yet he still played 30 minutes a night. Gordon is basically a spot shooter these days, which didn’t bode well against the Jazz, who are very good at defending the perimeter. Gordon should have more success in a pace-up matchup against the Warriors. These teams could easily score in the 120s every game, which is great news for the shooters in this series.
Potentially Underowned Superstar
Chris Paul might be the forgotten superstar in a game that features Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and James Harden. Paul played great in the series against the Jazz and has historically played up to his competition. In three regular season games against the Warriors, he averaged over 50 fantasy points per contest. He could push for 36-38 minutes tonight, his price is affordable, and I’m not expecting ownership to be outrageous.
A Solid Value Play
The grizzled veteran is nowhere near a sexy DFS play, but he’s a much needed source of value for our purposes. He’s also a much needed source of defense for the Rockets, and his minutes consistently trended higher in the previous series against the Jazz. He averaged 30 fantasy points per game in the last two games of that series, and he should continue to reach those levels as we start the conference finals.
