Rajon Rondo cleared to play Friday
Rondo has a great matchup against Cleveland tonight. This game has shootout potential, and has high game stack appeal.
As reported by: TwitterElfrid Payton (knee tendinopathy) ruled out Friday
Payton has officially been ruled out of Friday’s game against the Houston Rockets due to left knee tendinopathy that has now forced him two consecutive games. In his absence, Tyler Ulis will draw the start at point guard and has already played 30 minutes in three of the last four games. Additionally, Devin Booker and T.J. Warren will jointly miss their sixth consecutive game, so Troy Daniels and Josh Jackson will remain in the starting lineup for at least one additional contest. Daniels has averaged 33 minutes per game over that span and been at least semi-consistent from a daily fantasy standpoint. For the most part, Jackson has been stellar with Warren and Booker sidelined and is averaging 38 minutes per game outside of a lone 27-minute effort in last Friday’s blowout loss. Jackson also sports a +3.7% usage rate differential with Payton, Booker, Warren, and Tyson Chandler off the court this season and is averaging 1.01 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.00 on FanDuel in this scenario.
As reported by: Scott Bordow via TwitterJR Smith, Kevin Love will play tonight
With Kevin Love (concussion) and JR Smith (illness) both cleared to play tonight, they both become viable tournament options. LeBron James is a lock tonight in cash.
As reported by: Twitter Other tagged players: Kevin LoveRajon Rondo is a game-time decision tonight
After being questionable all day with a wrist injury, there is still no official word on Rondo’s status tonight. If he doesn’t play, Ian Clark could be a sneaky tournament play. Jrue Holiday has a great matchup tonight, regardless of Rondo’s status.
As reported by: TwitterGerald Green starting Friday against Phoenix
In wake of the injury news, Gerald Green will now enter the starting lineup. Luc Mbah a Moute (knee) is active for tonight’s game.
As reported by: TwitterWesley Iwundu (illness) now ruled out Friday
Iwundu was previously slated to return to the starting lineup, but he is now a late scratch from Friday’s matchup with the Chicago Bulls due to an illness. Meanwhile, Jonathan Isaac will start and be limited to around 20 minutes, according to head coach Frank Vogel, in his return from a three-game absence due to a left foot strain. Even though Rodney Purvis will start at the shooting guard spot, it’s been Shelvin Mack that’s logged at least 27 minutes in each of the last two games, making him the preferred option in tournament formats. On top of that, Mack, Isaac, D.J. Augustin, and Nikola Vucevic all own at least a +4.0% usage rate differential with the aforementioned players off the court this season, while Vucevic also leads the ways in terms of production with a rate of 1.32 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and FanDuel in this scenario.
As reported by: Josh Robbins via TwitterChris Paul, Eric Gordon, Nene out; Capela, Ariza playing
With Paul, Gordon and Nene all out with injuries, Capela and Gerald Green will be the main beneficiaries. Luc Mbah a Moute is also playing tonight, and has tournament upside. Green will be a cash lock, but still hard to fade with that value.
As reported by: Twitter Other tagged players: Clint Capela, Trevor ArizaChris Paul (rest) and Nene (back) ruled out Friday
Paul was originally listed as questionable on the Houston Rockets’ injury report, but he’s been ruled out of Friday’s game against the Phoenix Suns due to rest purposes, while Nene is a late scratch because of low back pain. Assuming Eric Gordon is cleared to play, he would enter the starting lineup at the shooting guard spot in place of Paul, a move that would slide James Harden over to point guard and into the role of primary initiator of the offense in the Rockets starting unit. Regardless of Gordon’s status, Gerald Green appears poised to remain in a prominent role in the Rockets rotation and has logged at least 30 minutes off the bench in each of the last three games. Joe Johnson has also been allotted a similar minute share in the second unit, and he actually leads the team with a +3.4% usage rate differential when Paul and Nene are off the court, increasing his appeal as a salary-saver in tournament formats on tonight’s slate.
As reported by: Mark Berman via Twitter Other tagged players: Nene HilarioThon Maker (groin) out tonight
Thon Maker (right groin strain) is listed as out on the game notes. With Maker out, Tyler Zeller and John Henson should log more minutes at the five tonight.
As reported by: NBADennis Schroder (ankle) out tonight
Isaiah Taylor is priced at $4,800 on both major sites, so we can safely fire up Taylor as a solid source of value. Schroder has missed three of the Hawks past four games, and over that span Taylor has racked up a 26.5% usage rate and hasn’t been shy about gettign hise shots up. One caveat here is that Taylor has shot over 50% in the three games he’s recently started for Schroder, and that is a trend that won’t continue for long. Still, he doesn’t need that in order to provide DFS value as a handful of points, assists, and steals will more than get the job done. He’ll face a Sixers team tonight that leads the league in tunrovers and will be without their best player (and defender) in Joel Embiid, so there is shootout potential here.
As reported by: TwitterCristiano Felicio (back) will start Friday against Orlando
Along with Felicio, Chicago will start Payne, Holiday, Nwaba and Markkanen against the Magic. With Lavine (knee), Zipser (foot) and Dunn (toe) all out, Payne and Denzel Valentine are intriguing options for GPP tonight. Valentine sees a heavy usage, and minute increase with Dunn and Lavine off the court.
As reported by: TwitterEric Gordon (knee) is questionable, along with Paul, Ariza and Mbah a Moute
Gordon is questionable for tonight’s game against Phoenix with a sore left knee. Expect Gerald Green and PJ Tucker to play extended minutes if any of these questionable players can’t go tonight.
As reported by: Twitter Other tagged players: Chris Paul, Luc Mbah a MouteBrook Lopez, Brandon Ingram playing Friday
Both players, who were listed on the injury report earlier in the day, are officially playing tonight against Milwaukee.
As reported by: NBA Other tagged players: Brandon IngramAndre Iguodala (knee) out tomorrow against the Kings
Iguodala did not practice today due to left knee soreness. Coach Steve Kerr said he doubts Iguodala will play on Sunday against Phoenix. With Iguodala out, this opens up minutes for Omri Casspi and Nick Young. Casspi is questionable tomorrow with an ankle injury.
As reported by: TwitterJohn Wall expected to play tomorrow
In his first game since January, John Wall looks to make his return tomorrow against the Charlotte Hornets. There is no news yet on if Wall has a minute restriction. Tomas Satoransky is unplayable for the time being.
