I Have Solid Upside At My FanDuel Price
Collison has played at least 31 minutes, and has at least 27 FanDuel points in three straight games. He’s also scored 20 actual points in five of the last seven games. Tonight he faces a Magic team that has really struggled with point guards. They’re allowing the third most fantasy points per game to opposing point guards this season. With an 11-game slate tonight, I would expect Collison to be low owned.
Leading the Way
Although he is somewhat scoring dependent, Victor Oladipo is a healthy fantasy option in the right matchups. Tonight certainly qualifies as one against a Magic team that ranks near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency. This is also a revenge game for Oladipo against his former squad, and you know he will look forward to trying to hang a big number on them. It’s difficult to trust him in cash games with his scoring dependency, but the upside is certainly there for tournaments.
Getting Warmer!
Kemba Walker has really hit his stride over the last week, putting up very strong performances against the Bulls and Clippers. His minutes are very healthy in the high-30’s, and he will continue to stay there in close games. He gets a home date against Jeff Teague and the Wolves tonight, which is not one that we need to shy away from. The Hornets are getting healthy with Nicolas Batum back in the mix, and it appears like their offense is primed to pick up the pace going forward. Walker is a strong mid-range option here.
Upgrade without Conley
(CURRENTLY QUESTIONABLE: Monitor injury status) Tyreke Evans is still coming off the bench, but his prospects are much brighter with Mike Conley sidelined. He is still playing starters’ minutes, and his usage increases by 3% with Conley off the floor. Tonight’s matchup is fine against a Portland squad that ranks in the bottom third in the league in defensive efficiency, so fire up Evans as a strong GPP option on an 11 game slate.
Tyreke Evans (shoulder) questionable for Monday; Brandan Wright (groin) and Wayne Selden (quad) ruled out
Evans has officially been listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies injury report for tomorrow’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a right shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Brandan Wright and Wayne Selden have been ruled out with a right groin injury and a right quad injury, respectively. The Grizzlies are still without Mike Conley for the next couple of weeks, so if Evans is unable to suit up Monday night, they could have a huge void to fill in their first and second units as Evans has taken on an even larger role in recent games with Conley sidelined. Unsurprisingly, there isn’t much of a sample size with both Evans and Conley off the court this season but in that limited time, Dillon Brooks has been the clear beneficiary from a usage standpoint, owning +9.6% differential, while Marc Gasol has seen the largest bump to his daily fantasy production, averaging roughly 1.50 fantasy points per minute in the aforementioned scenario.
As reported by: Grizzlies PR via Twitter Other tagged players: Brandan Wright, Wayne SeldenJon Leuer (ankle sprain) remains out Sunday
Leuer has been confirmed as out by Detroit Pistons’ head coach Stan Van Gundy and will not play in tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a sprained left ankle that has now kept him sidelined for eight consecutive games. Leuer reportedly suffered a setback with his ankle and ended up not playing in Wednesday’s contest despite being available to off the bench. His continued absence will leave Eric Moreland and Boban Marjanovic to compete for the backup center minutes behind Andre Drummond, who has consistently seen playing time in the upper-30s in terms of minutes, meaning there won’t be much time leftover for either reserve big man.
As reported by: James Edwards III via TwitterOmri Casspi will start for Kevin Durant (ankle) Sunday
Durant was ruled out in advance of the Golden State Warriors’ second leg of a back-to-back set and won’t play in tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets due to a sprained left ankle. Andre Iguodala was originally considered the leading candidate to enter the starting lineup and started at small forward in the previous game Durant missed this season. However, head coach Steve Kerr has opted to give Omri Casspi the starting nod in an effort to manage Iguodala’s minutes since the Warriors are on the second night of a road back-to-back after playing in Philadelphia yesterday. Casspi will obviously step into some additional playing time given the starting role while Patrick McCaw and Nick young can also be expected to see some extra run off the bench in order to pick up the slack on the wing. With Durant off the court this season, Stephen Curry has been the clear beneficiary in terms of usage and production, as he owns a +8.9% usage rate differential in the aforementioned scenario while averaging an insane 64 fantasy points on DraftKings and 61 fantasy points on FanDuel per 36 minutes.
As reported by: Mark Medina via Twitter Other tagged players: Kevin DurantThabo Sefolosha (sore knee) probable for Monday
Sefolosha has officially been listed as probable on the Utah Jazz’ injury report for tomorrow’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers with right knee soreness. He made his return from a one-game absence in Saturday’s contest and was able to play 18 minutes off the bench, so the probable designation is likely more precautionary than anything else, and Sefolosha should be fully expected to suit up Monday night. Even with Sefolosha like available, Jonas Jerebko should remain in the starting lineup at power forward for the injured Rudy Gobert, and he was extremely productive from a fantasy standpoint in just over 24 minutes of action in last night’s game.
As reported by: Tony Jones via TwitterJohn Wall (sore knee) ruled out Sunday
Wall has been ruled out and won’t suit up for today’s game against the Toronto Raptors after previously being listed as questionable on the Washington Wizards’ injury report with a sore left knee. While Wall will be unavailable this afternoon, it appears to be more of a maintenance day opposed to a worrisome injury, as there is reportedly a good chance Wall is good to go on Monday night. In his absence, Tim Frazier will draw the start at point guard, while Tomas Satoransky is likely to enter the rotation and see some playing time. Frazier now becomes an elite value option for his low price tag across the industry, but Bradley Beal, Markieff Morris, Otto Porter, and Kelly Oubre have predictably all seen sizable increases in usage and fantasy production with Wall off the court this season, as each player owns at least a +5.2% usage rate differential in the aforementioned scenario. That said, Beal remains the most intriguing option given his elite per minute production and role in the offense, while Morris will continue to be limited to around 24 minutes of playing time as he continues to work his way back from injury.
As reported by: Candace Buckner via TwitterJerryd Bayless (wrist contusion) expected to play on Monday
Bayless remains listed as questionable on the Philadelphia 76ers injury report for tomorrow’s game against the Utah Jazz with a left wrist contusion, but head coach Brett Brown has told reporters that he expects Bayless to play Monday night. The Sixers are still without Markelle Fultz, Justin Anderson, and Nik Stauskas, so the return of Bayless to the rotation is certainly a much-needed addition. It still remains unclear if Brown will continue to utilize the same starting lineup with Dario Saric at power forward, but the presence of Bayless will definitely eat into the playing time of T.J. McConnell off the bench, and to a lesser extent, J.J. Redick at the shooting guard spot.
As reported by: Keith Pompey via TwitterSerge Ibaka (knee) will play Sunday; Norman Powell (hip) remains out
Ibaka has been cleared to play and will suit up for today’s game against the Washington Wizards after previously being listed as questionable on the Toronto Raptors’ game notes with a swollen left knee that had forced him to miss one game. Meanwhile, Normal Powell remains with a right hip flexor that has now kept him sidelined for four consecutive games. The availability of Ibaka will send Pascal Siakam back to the bench to resume his normal reserve role following his one-game spot start. Fred VanVleet will continue to see a sizable role off the bench serving as the primary backup point guard behind Kyle Lowry, while also playing alongside him at times with Lowry and DeMar DeRozan’s playing time typically being staggered, though Lorenzo Brown entered the rotation in the previous game, limiting VanVleet to just 17 minutes of action. Additionally, OG Anunoby will draw the start at small forward for the fourth time in as many games in place of Powell with head coach Dwane Casey seemingly preferring to keep C.J. Miles as a primary scoring option in the second unit.
As reported by: Eric Smith via Twitter Other tagged players: Norman PowellA Solid Contributor To Consider
Back from the birth of his child, Justin Holiday dropped 40.6 FanDuel points on Friday against the Hornets. Holiday makes for another great play on Sunday against a vulnerable Phoenix Suns defense. The Suns allow the 7th most fantasy points to shooting guards, are tied with the Nets for the league’s fastest pace and are tied with the Mavericks for the second worst defensive efficiency. I don’t expect Holiday to continue dropping 40 FanDuel point games regularly, but it’s reasonable for him to hit 5x his salary on a good night and he’s someone I would consider for your cash game lineup given the price and nice matchup.
Anthony Davis (concussion) probable for Monday
Davis has cleared the concussion protocol and has been listed as probable on the New Orleans Pelicans’ injury report for tomorrow’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a right orbital bone contusion he sustained when banging heads with Nikola Jokic during Friday’s loss, an incident that also resulted in the mild concussion. There has yet to be any confirmation on whether Davis will wear a protective mask but is certainly something to monitor on Monday given how intrusive face masks can be for players. Assuming there no worries about limitations, Davis will remain an intriguing tournament option, as he does on most slates, despite the difficult matchup with the Thunder’s top-rated defensive unit.
As reported by: Will Guillory via TwitterPay Up at Center in Cash Games
With no value to speak of at the center position, paying up for Nikola Jokic is the recommended play in cash games, and likely in tournaments as well. The Lakers play at one of the fastest paces in the league, and they struggle to defend talented opposing centers. Jokic is as talented as it gets, and his ability to contribute in all five categories gives him an extremely high floor and ceiling tonight.
Minutes Equal Money
Jamal Murray has seen well over 30 minutes in each of Denver’s last three games, and his price tag doesn’t quite reflect the new role. On this short four game slate, he’s a nice salary-saving option in both cash games and tournaments given the matchup against the fast-paced, defensively-inept Lakers.
