Lance Thomas (sore right hip) ruled out tonight
Thomas will not play in tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously appearing in the Knicks’ game notes as questionable with a sore right hip that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. In his absence, Guillermo Hernangomez will likely remain in the starting lineup at center, while Kristaps Porzingis will man the four spot. The rest of the Knicks starting five will depend on the status of Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose, who also were listed as questionable in the Knicks’ game notes, but there has yet to be any kind of official update from the team. Porzingis surprisingly hasn’t historically seen a bump in usage rate with the aforementioned trio off the court this season, albeit a limited sample size, but he will be expected to carry the offensive load for New York should Anthony and Rose be ruled out again, especially with Brandon Jennings now with the Washington Wizards.
As reported by: Al IannazzoneTy Lawson confirmed as starter for Darren Collison (rest) tonight; Buddy Hield (quad) will start
Buddy Hield will play and start in tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors after previously being listed as probable on the Kings’ injury report with a right quad contusion. Meanwhile, Darren Collison, Tyreke Evans, and Anthony Tolliver will all be rested and won’t play in tonight’s contest despite never appearing on the Kings’ injury report at any point throughout the day. Ty Lawson will draw the start at point guard in Collison’s place, as expected. Outside of Lawson, it’s tough to really pinpoint which Kings players will substantially benefit from the aforementioned trio’s absence, but Willie Cauley-Stein and Buddy Hield seem to be receiving the most consistent playing on a night-to-night basis. The Warriors are expected to run away in a blowout in Friday’s matchup, so the Kings rotation minutes may become even more diluted than normal with expected garbage time.
As reported by: Warriors PR Other tagged players: Buddy HieldBrandon Ingram (right patella tendinitis) will play tonight
Ingram will play in tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after previously being listed as probable on the Lakers’ injury report with patella tendinitis in his right knee. The Lakers will roll with same starting five as normal, while Ingram has become a staple in that starting lineup and is a primary focus of their youth movement in recent weeks and going forward. Ingram has consistently been seeing north of 35 minutes of playing time a night, so while his price tag remains affordable, he is quickly becoming one the better safe cash game options on a nightly basis. Tonight is no different, though he has failed flash upside on even semi-consistent regularity.
As reported by: Mark MedinaBuddy Hield (right quad contusion) downgraded to probable tonight
Buddy Hield has officially been added to the Kings’ injury report for tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors but is still considered probable with a right quad contusion. Meanwhile, Darren Collison, Tyreke Evans, and Anthony Tolliver will all be rested and won’t play in tonight’s contest despite never appearing on the Kings’ injury report at any point throughout the day. The Kings have yet to announce an official starting lineup, but Ty Lawson will almost assuredly draw the start at point guard in Collison’s place. As reported by: Vince Miracle Other tagged players: Tyreke Evans, Anthony TolliverRichaun Holmes confirmed as the starter in place of Jahlil Okafor
Okafor will not play in tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls after previously being listed as questionable on the Sixers’ injury report with a sore right knee that has kept him sidelined sporadically in recent weeks. Okafor returned to the starting lineup in the Sixers’ most recent game, but Richaun Holmes will be reinserted into the starting unit at center for tonight’s contest. Holmes has consistently been seeing minutes in the high-20s to low-30s in Okafor’s absence and has averaged just over a fantasy point per minute, which places him as a viable option in all formats this evening. With Okafor off the court since the All-Star break, both Robert Covington and T.J. McConnell own at least a +2.0% usage rate differential, making them interesting contrarian tournament options to pivot off the Holmes ownership.

As reported by: KC JohnsonWilson Chandler (groin) confirmed in the starting lineup; Darrell Arthur (knee) available off the bench
Wilson Chandler was listed as probable throughout the day and has been confirmed in the starting lineup. Danilo Gallinari’s return moved Mason Plumlee to the bench and kept Chandler as the other forward. It’ll be tough to trust Chandler in a cash game environment tonight as he seems to perform better when the Nuggets are not as healthy. With a full rotation, don’t expect Chandler to log over 36 minutes tonight. Darrell Arthur also is available to play off the bench but played less than two minutes on Wednesday. Just avoid Arthur at all costs.
As reported by: Vic Lombardi Other tagged players: Darrell Arthur, Danilo Gallinari, Mason PlumleeJohn Henson (thumb) ruled out for tonight
Henson will miss Friday’s game with the Hawks, which will leave the Bucks a little shorthanded in the front-court. Spencer Hawes is likely to pick up minutes in the teens with Henson on the shelf, and it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Terrence Jones to enter the rotation. Either way, the Bucks are going to have trouble with Dwight Howard down low given the current state of the front-court, so this news only further increases Howard’s upside. Greg Monroe could also seen a slight uptick in playing time, but his playing time tends to be erratic.
As reported by: @Bucks Other tagged players: Spencer Hawes, Greg Monroe, Terrence JonesDanilo Gallinari (knee) returns to the starting lineup; Mason Plumlee heads to the bench
Gallinari will play and start in tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers after previously being listed as questionable on the Nuggets’ injury report with a left knee bone bruise that had forced him to miss four consecutive games. His return to the starting lineup will send Mason Plumlee back to the bench to resume his reserve role, while Wilson Chandler will slide down to the power forward spot. With both Darrell Arthur and Kenneth Faried available to play through their original injury designations, Denver is now relatively healthy for the first time in weeks. Consequentially, the entire Denver roster is overpriced due to the team’s recent injury bouts, making Nikola Jokic and maybe Gary Harris the only players realistically worth targeting in tournaments.
As reported by: Vic Lombardi Other tagged players: Mason PlumleeJohn Wall (migraine) will play against the Nets tonight
Wall will, in fact, play in tonight’s game against Brooklyn Nets after previous reports out of Washington were that he was fully expected to play despite dealing with migraines earlier in the day. If Wall officially available, he becomes a viable tournament option against a Nets squad that ranks towards the top of the league in pace and the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency. Both Bradley Beal and Markieff Morris will become much less appealing daily fantasy options with Wall confirmed in the lineup. This news also removes Brandon Jennings from consideration from every format entirely.
As reported by: Chris MillerKevin Love to be limited to about 25-30 minutes Friday
This has basically been the case since his return, but it’s worth noting considering the Cavs have announced that Love is now able to play on back-to-backs, and we should see his minutes increase over the next few games. It’s also possible that Ty Lue eases up on Love through the rest of the regular season, but that’ll likely be handled on a game-by-game basis. Love’s presence does slightly eat into the usage of Kyrie Irving, and LeBron James to a lesser extent.
As reported by: Dave McMenaminMiles Plumlee (calf) and Ramon Sessions (knee) cleared to play tonight
Miles Plumlee is expected back in the rotation tonight after he missed a couple weeks due to a calf injury. While he’s not going to jump in and log heavy minutes tonight, Plumlee will likely see a few minutes behind Frank Kaminsky and Cody Zeller. Don’t use Plumlee on this slate but it’s something to watch out for as the team continues to get healthy. Ramon Sessions has been cleared to play but is not expected to take the court.
As reported by: David Scott Other tagged players: Ramon Sessions, Frank Kaminsky, Cody ZellerAvery Bradley (illness) ruled out for tonight; Jaylen Brown starting in his place
Bradley will not play in tonight’s game against the Phoenix Suns due to an illness despite never appearing on the Celtics’ injury report at any point throughout the day. In his absence, Jaylen Brown will receive the starting nod at shooting guard, while Marcus Smart can be expected to see an uptick in minutes off the bench as well. Brown immediately enters tournament consideration given this news and should see minutes at least in the mid-20s. Since the All-Star break with Bradley off the court, Isaiah Thomas unsurprisingly leads the Celtics with a +3.0% usage rate differential (39.0%), though he hasn’t been able to capitalize by significantly increasing his fantasy production in a limited sample. However, a matchup with a fast-paced Suns squad that ranks 24th in DvP against opposing point guards should be a spot Thomas can get it all turned around.
As reported by: Sean Grande Other tagged players: Jaylen BrownKenneth Faried (shoulder contusion) will play tonight against the Pacers
Faried will play in tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers after previously being listed as questionable on the Nuggets’ injury report with a left shoulder contusion. Faried has eclipsed 20 minutes in just one game since returning from injury, so he is not on the daily fantasy radar as a viable option on tonight’s slate with Denver relatively healthy for the first time in weeks. With Faried, Wilson Chandler, Mason Plumlee, and Juancho Hernangomez all vying for frontcourt minutes, unfortunately, there just isn’t a realistic route for Faried to see enough playing time to become a viable option in any format. The entire Denver roster is overpriced due to their recent injury bouts, making Nikola Jokic and maybe Gary Harris the only players worth targeting in tournaments.
