Ed Davis out for rest of season after under going shoulder surgery
The Trail Blazers big man will have surgery next week on his injured shoulder next week and will miss the rest of the season. Meyers Leonard and Jusuf Nurkic should both see additional minutes as the result.

Paul Zipser expected to play tonight for Bulls; Michael Carter-Williams a game-time decision
Neither player is expected to have a big impact even if they do play but they could bite into the minutes of the likes of Denzel Valentine, Cameron Payne, Rajon Rondo, and Jerian Grant.

With Kevin Durant sidelined, the Warriors have signed the veteran Barnes for the rest of the season. He’ll be available to play tonight but his role is uncertain and as such he is not a viable DFS option tonight, even on a small three game slate.

Afflalo will play and reclaim his starting role for tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, sending Ty Lawson back to the bench to resume a reserve role. Additionally, Skal Labissiere will draw the start at power forward in favor of Willie Cauley-Stein, who had been playing relatively well in his own regard. The Kings suddenly have a wealth of backcourt and wing players available for the first time since the DeMarcus Cousins trade with both Afflalo and Lawson able to suit up this evening. Obviously, there are now a ton of mouths to feed with Lawson, Buddy Hield, and Tyreke Evans all competing for minutes off the bench as in addition to the starters, which segregates all of the aforementioned players to tournament-only options on Wednesday’s late slate.

Ty Lawson (illness) upgraded to probable tonight
Lawson has officially been upgraded to probable for tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets after previously being listed as questionable on the Kings’ injury report due to an illness. Arron Afflalo also remains probable for Sacramento, so the Kings could suddenly have a wealth of backcourt and wing players available for the first time since the DeMarcus Cousins trade if both Lawson and Afflalo are able to suit up. Afflalo should be expected to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup alongside Ben McLemore on the wing, but there now a ton of mouths to feed with Lawson, Buddy Hield, and Tyreke Evans all competing for minutes off the bench as well, segregating all of the aforementioned players to tournament-only options on Wednesday’s late slate.

Jefferson will be available to play in tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously being listed as questionable on the Pacers’ injury report due to an emergency root canal that had forced him to miss three consecutive games. Jefferson will likely resume his normal backup center role behind Myles Turner and will compete for reserve frontcourt minutes with Lavoy Allen and a combination of Kevin Seraphin and Rakeem Christmas, who is also available to play this evening. However, none of the aforementioned big men are viable daily fantasy options on a massive 11-game slate with a plethora of other value options available.

Rodney Hood was ruled out about a minutes before lineups locked. If you were able to switch off him in time, great job! Joe Ingles will likely start in place of Hood and is a viable punt option against the Timberwolves. Joe Johnson should also see a boost in minutes and is also a viable option against the Minnesota. Both players are not safe for cash games and the primary beneficiaries of Hood’s absence are George Hill and Gordon Hayward. If you were unable to swap to Hill or Hayward in time, you can attempt to use them in slates that start later tonight.

Tony Parker ruled out, Dejounte Murray to start; Dewayne Dedmon will start at C
Parker has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game due to a quad issue. Dejounte Murray will draw the start at PG, but he’s not a preferred DFS option this evening with Jamal Murray setting up as the better minimum priced play at PG. Parker should be considered day-to-day and it’s possible this is the only contest he misses due to the bruised quad. Dewayne Dedmon will continue to start at C ahead of Pau Gasol, and with the two sieving value from each other, the San Antonio center situation is best left untouched from a DFS perspective.

Channing Frye confirmed as the starter for tonight
Channing Frye is expected to start in place of Richard Jefferson tonight. Frye will return to his normal role and is expected to approach 30 minutes tonight. Frye should be able to make salary-based expectations tonight. He’s no longer priced under $5k, making it difficult to fit in over all the other value plays that have considerably more upside than Frye. Considering there are so many elite PF plays on the slate tonight, Frye is not a mandatory option. Still, he’s viable if you’re looking for a play in the later slates.

Murray will draw the start at point guard in place of the ill Jameer Nelson, who had been previously listed as questionable on the Nuggets’ injury report, for tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The recently demoted Emmanuel Mudiay is expected to pick up a majority of the backup point guard minutes behind Murray in Nelson’s absence. Murray is still the stone minimum on FanDuel and generously priced on DraftKings, putting him firmly in play as a punt option for all formats in an exploitable matchup against this Milwaukee defensive unit.

Nelson is dealing with an illness and won’t take the court on the second half of a B2B. Jamal Murray will start for Nelson and with Emmanuel Mudiay unlikely to see much (if any) court time, Murray becomes one of the premier punt plays on the slate. He’s priced towards the minimum across the industry and can be targeted confidently in all formats.

Vaughn will draw the start in place of Michael Beasley, with Khris Middleton coming off the bench. While we’re not looking in Vaughn’s direction for DFS purposes – he’s still not likely to play big minutes and isn’t a strong per minute contributor as it is – Middleton isn’t off the DFS radar as a bench option. It’s likely that he ends up in the 28-30 minute range, and with the upside he can flash in a strong match-up, he’s still a potential tournament play priced in the mid $5K range on both major sites. Vaughn’s presence in the starting lineup does bode well for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Malcolm Brogdon, as Middleton would be a bigger threat to their usage rates.

Cunningham will be inserted into the Pelicans’ starting lineup in place of the suspended DeMarcus Cousins for tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons. This will be just a one-game spot start for Cunningham, as Cousins is expected to be back in the starting lineup for the Pelicans next contest following his suspension. Cunningham is a putrid fantasy point per minute producer, so he can easily be avoided in daily fantasy formats on an 11-game slate. However, his teammates, Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday are particularly intriguing options on DraftKings given their depressed price tags with Cousins now in the mix in New Orleans. They both draw exploitable individual matchups against Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson respectively.

Brogdon will enter the starting five ahead of Matthew Dellavedova on Wednesday. The Nuggets struggle mightily against opposing guards, so this is a chance to roster Brogdon at a very low ownership percentage in one of the best potential match-ups on the board – Denver ranks dead last in defensive efficiency. We should expect Brogdon to end up around the 30 minute mark with upside for 33-35, and at $5,100 on FanDuel, that makes him one of the more intriguing mid-range targets in GPPs at PG.

Bradley will remain on a 15-25 minute restriction for tonight’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has expressed his intent to increase Bradley’s minutes some in Wednesday’s contest. Bradley only saw 14 minutes of action in his return from a sore Achilles on Monday, so it would be realistic to expect him to still be limited to playing time in that 20-minute range, even if he sees some minutes in the second half like Stevens hopes. Bradley’s price is still too high to be considered in daily fantasy formats, but his presence in the rotation is still enough to make Isaiah Thomas a slightly less appealing option.
