Kristaps Porzingis (sprained ankle) ruled out for Monday
Porzingis has been ruled out for Monday’s game, but he apparently has a pretty good shot at rejoining the Knicks for Wednesday’s game. With Porzingis and Brandon Jennings off the floor this season, Carmelo Anthony owns a strong 33.2% usage rate with a 1.20 FPPM mark, numbers you certainly aren’t complaining about. Interestingly enough, Derrick Rose’s usage rate/FPPM mark actually drop with Porzingis and Jennings off the floor, so Melo is the clear winner here. The Raptors actually struggle most with the SF position, ranking 17th in DvP. Compared to the other options in Melo’s price range at SF – Paul George mainly – Anthony is the preferred option. While Andrew Wiggins has been red-hot lately, if you can roster Melo at a discount to him (you’ll save $400 on FanDuel by going from Wiggins to Melo), it’s a wise choice. Lance Thomas is likely to draw another start for Porzingis, but he’s not a terribly exciting DFS option. Still, if he can see 30-35 minutes of court time, he’ll have a shot at hitting value despite a low usage rate.

Avery Bradley not listed on Celtics injury report; could potentially return tonight
Avery Bradley has missed 22 of the last 23 games for the Celtics but is not listed on the injury report for tonight’s game. Bradley was seen stretching and going through pregame warmups. Bradley could return to the starting lineup tonight and that would send Jaylen Brown back to the bench. Brown was playing well in the absence of Bradley but does not have the elite upside off the bench. Marcus Smart is likely ahead of Brown in the guard rotation but also carries considerable risk with Bradley expected back in the lineup. Isaiah Thomas also sees a reduced usage rate with Avery Bradley in the lineup and could struggle to exceed value tonight.

Jose Calderon has been waived by the Lakers
Calderon has officially been waived by the Los Angeles Lakers. He has only played a grand total of five minutes in the last month, so his release from the team will have no effect on the Lakers’ backcourt rotation.

Kyle Lowry will have his surgery performed tomorrow to remove loose bodies in his right wrist. The team is hopeful that Lowry can return for the playoffs, but only time will tell. With Lowry out indefinitely, Cory Joseph should be considered an elite option until his salary becomes unplayable. Derrick Rose carries a -3.06 DPRM on the season and is definitely exploitable. Joseph has played over 33 minutes in consecutive games and should be able to exceed salary-based expectations again. DeMar DeRozan is also an elite play in all formats with Lowry out and comes with an extremely high floor. He’s really scoring dependent but considering the Knicks rank 25th in defensive efficiency, the upside could also be there for DeRozan. Serge Ibaka also had a nice performance last night and should be considered an elite option with Lowry out of the lineup. Ibaka had 15 field goals attempts last night and has 27 FGA in his two games with the Raptors.

Faried did not play on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies and Wilson Chandler started in his place. Chandler played 35 minutes and was able to exceed value. Darrell Arthur played 12 minutes off the bench behind Chandler and failed to make an impact. Chandler should be considered an elite option against the Bulls and Arthur should be avoided until he plays over 20 minutes a game. Danilo Gallinari will likely have to deal with Jimmy Butler for most of the night, making Chandler the better starting forward option. Both Gallinari and Chandler are locks to play 32+ minutes.

The Pacers veteran big man had emergency dental surgery last week and is still experiencing pain. He’s doubtful to play tonight according to Head Coach Nate McMillan despite being listed as questionable by the team on their injury report. Jefferson hasn’t had much of a role in the Pacers rotation, averaging less than 15 minutes per game over his last 10 games, so his loss has minimal DFS impact.

Kristaps Porzingis unlikely to play for Knicks tonight
The Knicks young forward has been dealing with an ankle injury and does not appear as if he will play tonight when his team takes on the Toronto Raptors. Willy Hernangomez should see all the minutes he can handle with Joakim Noah also sidelined and Lance Thomas makes for a top value option after topping 35 minutes last game out – Thomas has limited upside though but should safely meet value.

Originally listed as questionable with a hand injury that forced him to miss the teams last game. Durant has been upgraded to probable for the Warriors game against the 76ers tonight. It’s a hit to the value of Stephen Curry whose usage sees a rise when Durant is out. Regardless both players are in play as viable DFS options given their match up with Philadelphia.

It appears the Knicks veteran center is done for the season with his knee injury that will require surgery later today. Willy Hernangomez has already seized the starting role and it’s solidified further with this news. Kyle O’Quinn is probably the biggest beneficiary as his minutes off the bench will remain stable.

The Knicks have let their veteran back up point guard go and look as if they will sign Chasson Randle to serve as Derrick Rose’s back up. Jennings should be able to find a home somewhere while Randle will have limited value unless Rose sits out a game for rest or injury purposes.

It appears the 76ers will be in full blown tank mode now as their franchise big man is out indefinitely with swelling in his knee. He’s schedule for an MRI later today and we should know more about his status after the results of that come back. Jahlil Okafor and Richaun Holmes are the biggest beneficiaries of this news.

Scola’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season and this move will give him a chance to provide a veteran presence for a playoff team. Justin Hamilton should benefit the most immediately for Brooklyn.

James missed the team shootaround as he is battling an illness and could miss his second straight game as Cleveland host the Milwaukee Bucks tonight. Korver joins him as being questionable with a knee injury but he’s more likely to play as he took part in the team shootaround this morning. Kyrie Irving would be the biggest beneficiary if James does not play and be one of the top options on this slate if that were to happen. His usage is a staggering 46.3% with James and Kevin Love off the court according to CourtIQ (over 172 minutes).

Alex Abrines will start for Oladipo tonight as he did Friday night. It was the first start of the season for Abrines and he delivered: he scored 19 points while going 7-of-13 from the field and added two rebounds in nearly 30 minutes of action. He’s a potential value play on the late slate but it’ll be hard for him to produce a similar scoring effort and he rarely produces big peripheral stats, so he’s a risky bet with limited upside.

Hollis Thompson will start Sunday, E'Twaun Moore to come off bench
Thompson will get the start but Moore should log more minutes. Moore will still be the fourth option in New Orleans’ offense going forward. Of course, the vast majority of the team’s production will come through Demarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, and Jrue Holiday, which doesn’t leave much for Moore and the rest of the squad. Given his price on today’s slate, Moore does offer a decent value but he has a limited upside, which prevents him from being an exciting target.
