Will Barton, Emmanuel Mudiay, and Kenneth Faried to play for Denver tonight; Wilson Chandler likely starting
With Danilo Gallinari out due to injury, Wilson Chandler is expected to start for the Nuggets tonight against Milwaukee. He’s been excellent when starting this season and is a top DFS option at his price point across the industry. Will Barton and Emmanuel Mudiay were both listed as questionable heading into today and are expected to play, as is Kenneth Faried. Only Barton missed the Nuggets last game.

Julius Randle questionable for Lakers on Friday after playing 6 minutes last night
Randle missed two games earlier this week and only played six minutes last night when the Lakers lost to Washington. He’s questionable and not a viable DFS option until we see him back to full health.

The Nuggets star big man has missed the last three games but will play tonight although he will be on somewhat of a minutes limit (not a stringent one according to Denver Head Coach Mike Malone). He’s a risky DFS option at his current price tag and that potential limitation and his return removes Kenneth Faried as a viable DFS target.

Livingston will not play in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers after previously being listed as doubtful on the Warriors’ injury report with a back strain. This is the fourth occasion where Livingston has been held out of a game this season for various reasons. Look for Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw to each pick up some extra minutes in his absence. However, neither will see enough of a boost in minutes to become viable options unless this matchup with the Clippers turns into a blowout, which is certainly possible. With that said, both Clark and McCaw could still possibly be considered as long-shot tournament dart throws on the late slate in hopes that the game does get out of hand before the fourth quarter.

Thabo Sefolosha (groin) ruled out tonight; Tim Hardaway Jr. will start
Sefolosha will not play in tonight’s game against the Houston Rockets after previously being listed as questionable on the Hawks’ injury report with a left groin injury that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. Tim Hardaway Jr. will draw the start at the shooting guard spot in his place once again, sliding Kent Bazemore down to small forward. However, given Sefolosha’s low usage, none of the remaining starting five see a particularly substantial bump from his absence. Mike Dunleavy and Malcolm Delaney should be expected to pick up additional minutes off the bench. Hardaway becomes a particularly intriguing option, especially in tournaments, as he has an exploitable, pace up matchup with the Rockets backcourt defense.

Noel and Covington will not play in tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs due to their respective ailments. Covington was previously listed as doubtful on the Sixers’ injury report, so his unavailability is not all that surprising, but Noel can certainly be classified as a surprise late scratch after not possessing an injury designation earlier in the day. Nik Stauskas and Jahlil Okafor will replace Covington and Joel Embiid in the starting lineup once again.

Looney will be inserted into the starting lineup at power forward for tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers in place of the injured Draymond Green. In his absence, Looney, JaVale McGee, and James Michael McAdoo will soak up a majority of the extra minutes available in the frontcourt. McGee is really the only Warriors big man worth a punt in tournaments, but he has yet to see more than 17 minutes in any game this season, even when Green has been unavailable. If rolling him out in tournaments, you’re really just hoping he somehow eclipses that 20-minute plateau, which isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.

Ed Davis (left wrist sprain) probable for Friday's game vs Dallas
Ed Davis has missed five consecutive games due to a sprained wrist and he said that he is going to play against the Mavs on Friday. While he rarely makes a significant impact, his return could lead to Mason Plumlee playing slightly fewer minutes. Davis would need to start and play over 28 minutes to really make an impact and will likely continue to come off the bench.

Thabo Sefolosha is being considered questionable for tonight’s game against the Rockets. Sefolosha was unable to participate in last night’s game and while he is likely closer to doubtful, the team has not changed his status. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide an update once it becomes available. Tim Hardaway Jr. has started in place of Sefolosha and will be a strong fantasy option if Sefolosha is out again.

Draymond Green has been ruled out of tonight’s contest after he suffered a shoulder contusion in last night’s game. According to CourtIQ, Stephen Curry is the starter that is the main beneficiary with a 4.5% usage rate increase with Green off the court. Patrick McCaw also sees a 4.7% usage rate increase but is not expected to play 24+ minutes tonight. Kevin Durant will likely slide over to PF with David West and Zaza Pachulia out for the Warriors as well. Shaun Livingston is also considered doubtful, which opened the door for Ian Clark to play 15 minutes last night. McCaw also played 18 minutes and both players will be tournament dart throws against the Clippers.

The Nuggets are listing multiple players on their injury report for Friday’s game against the Bucks. Emmanuel Mudiay was able to play last night but it seems he is not completely healed and the team is listing him as questionable. Jameer Nelson will likely start since Mudiay came off the bench even when he returned. Danilo Gallinari hurt his groin last night and is scheduled for an MRI. He will likely be out an extended period of time and Wilson Chandler is expected to start in his place. Will Barton also had an MRI on his ankle and the team is listing him as questionable. Nikola Jokic was upgraded to questionable after missing three games due to a hip injury. If Jokic is out again, Jusuf Nurkic will likely start in his place but he’s not been playing well in the absence of Jokic. Kenneth Faried has been dealing with some hamstring soreness for some time now but will remain probable for Friday’s tilt.

It’s a trade that doesn’t have a lot of DFS impact (despite Hawes being a viable value option at times) as reports have surfaced that the Bucks have traded Miles Plumlee to the Hornets for Spencer Hawes and Roy Hibbert in what is likely a move made for financial reasons. It could open up a bigger role for Greg Monroe but that remains to be seen as he has thrived in his current placement in the rotation.

Covington missed the teams last game and is doubtful to play tonight against the Spurs. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot started in his place last game and logged 23 minutes but has little upside and is a risky DFS option. Nic Stauskas and Gerald Henderson also get slight bumps if Covington is out but it’s Dario Saric who is probably the biggest beneficiary and he’s certainly a viable option on this four game slate. Joel Embiid remains out with a knee injury leaving Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel to man the center position with Okafor most likely starting – both are risky options against a tough Spurs team.

The Spurs forward has been dealing with some knee soreness and the team is going to give him the night off against the 76ers tonight. David Lee and Dewayne Dedmon receive the biggest boost in terms of minutes and both are viable options tonight but it’s Kawhi Leonard who perhaps benefits the most as he sees a 6+% usage rate increase when Aldridge is off the floor.

Stuckey played for the first time in forever on Wednesday but now has another injury to deal with as he suffered an ankle sprain. He’ll miss the Pacers game on Friday and could potentially miss further games down the road. C.J. Miles is the biggest beneficiary of this news. Rakeem Christmas is also listed as questionable but he’s not part of Indiana’s rotation and has no DFS impact.
