Raymond Felton replaces Paul Pierce in starting lineup
Paul will not play in tonight’s game against the Phoenix Suns after previously being listed as doubtful on the Clippers injury report with a strained left hamstring that has now forced him to miss six of the Clippers’ last seven games. Clippers’ head coach Doc Rivers has rotated replacement starting point guards in Paul’s absence, but Austins Rivers will draw the start once again. Rivers has played relatively well filling in for Paul, and he has seen at least 32 minutes of playing time in three of the last four games. The one exception was due to an early ejection. Raymond Felton will also replace Paul Piece in the starting lineup and makes for an intriguing option on the late slates. According to our CourtIQ tool, Rivers leads the Clippers with a 4.2% usage rate differential (24.3%) with Paul and Blake Griffin off the court this season. So, needless to say, he makes for a fine value point guard option on tonight’s slate in an ideal pace-up matchup against the Suns’ horrendous back court defense.

Jameer Nelson (ribs) available to play tonight
Nelson will be available to play off the bench in tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors after previously being listed as questionable on the Nuggets’ injury due to a strained abdominal area. He can be expected to continue handling a majority of the backup point guard minutes behind Emmannuel Mudiay. With Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur ruled out, the Nuggets are suddenly thin at the power forward spot and Juan Hernangomez will likely reenter the front court rotation. However, he is unlikely to see enough minutes to be fantasy viable, as the Nuggets will likely be happy to match the Warriors small ball lineup as much as possible.

McCaw will not be available to play in tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets after previously being listed as questionable on the Warriors injury report with an illness that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. McCaw hasn’t seen the court in any of his previous three games when active, so obviously his absence will not have any direct impact on the rotation. Shaun Livingston and Ian Clark will absorb the majority of backup guard minutes behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. The blowout factor is extremely high in this matchup and Clark could make for an intriguing tournament punt on the late slates across the industry if he is able to accumulate a significant amount of blowout run.

Teague has officially been downgraded to questionable for tomorrow night’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to a sprained left ankle he sustained in Sunday’s win over the Orlando Magic. As for Stuckey, he will remain sidelined with a hamstring injury that has forced him to miss eight of the Pacers’ last nine games. If Teague were to be ruled out as well, Paul George would become an intriguing option, as he owns a 4.5% usage rate differential (33.2%) with both Teague and Stuckey off the court this season.

Hibbert will start in place of Cody Zeller tonight. Hibbert will likely play a max of 20 minutes tonight and is a risky GPP option against the Bulls. Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky should also see extended minutes due to the absence of Zeller. Kaminsky is likely ahead of Hawes in the depth chart but spends more time at PF. None of the players are safe enough for cash but their salaries are discounted enough to the point where they are upside GPP plays.

Bradley Beal (ankle) starting vs Houston tonight
Bradley Beal will start tonight against the Rockets. If he is truly healthy, he should be an elite option against the Rockets who will be without top defender Patrick Beverley tonight. Beal only missed one game due to the injury and has not seen his salary drop considerably. He’s still under $7k on both major sites, so he is priced for some upside. If Beal can play over 35 minutes, he should be able to exceed value. Since we do not have a minutes projection for Beal, we will have to assume that he plays over 30 minutes tonight and remains a GPP only option with so many good SGs available.

Fournier will not play in tonight’s game against the New York Knicks after previously being listed as questionable on the Magics’ injury report with a right heel contusion that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games. Jodie Meeks will draw the start at shooting guard once again in his absence, while the rest of the Magic starting five will remain the same. Meeks obviously deserves consideration as a punt option in tournaments across the industry. However, D.J. Augustin actually leads the Magic with the 4.3% usage rate differential (26.3%) with Fournier off the court this season. Unfortunately, Augustin isn’t a particularly viable option, even in tournaments, as he continues to see less playing time than Elfrid Payton at point guard despite being the “starter”. Meeks is the preferred value guard in the Magic back court, though Serge Ibaka remains the top overall play on Orlando, as he owns a 3.1% usage rate differential (26.2%) and averages well over a fantasy point per minute with Fournier off the court.

Beverley will not play in tonight’s game against the Washington Wizards after previously being listed as questionable on the Rockets’ injury report with a sprained right wrist that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. Corey Brewer will draw the start in his place once again, as Rockets head coack Mike D’Antoni prefers to keep Eric Gordon in his normal role off the bench. Brewer is a starter in name only and Gordon is the Rocket guard to target in this contest, outside of James Harden of course.

Wade will not play in tonight’s game against the Charlotte Hornets due to left knee soreness. Wade did not have an injury designation on the Bulls’ injury report, so his scratch from the lineup is relatively surprising. Doug McDermott will draw the start at small forward in Wade’s place, sliding Jimmy Butler over to shooting guard. With Wade and Rajon Rondo, who is expected to be a DNP-CD, off the court this season, Butler leads the Bulls with a whopping 11.9% usage rate differential (41.6%). Despite the less than ideal matchup against Charlotte, Butler becomes an elite play in all formats sans Wade (knee) and Rondo (DNP-CD).

Harris will be available to play in tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz after previously being listed as questionable on the Nets’ injury report with a hip pointer that forced him to miss the last two games. Bojan Bogdanovic will still likely remain in the starting lineup at small forward alongside Sean Kilpatrick and Isaiah Whitehead. With Jeremy Lin still sidelined, Kilpatrick will assume a large majority of the ball handling responsibilities but does draw a difficult matchup with this Jazz defensive unit. Kilpatrick remains the preferred target on this Nets’ squad on a night-to-night basis along with big man, Brook Lopez, while Lin remains out.

Porzingis will not play in tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic after previously being listed as questionable on the Knicks’ injury report with a sore left Achilles that has now kept him sidelined for two consecutive games. In addition, Carmelo Anthony, Courtney Lee, and Kyle O’Quinn will all be available to play in this contest despite their statuses’ being uncertain earlier in the day. Anthony will likely slide over to power forward in place of Porzingis once again, while Lance Thomas should start at small forward alongside Lee at his normal shooting guard position. According to our CourtIQ tool, Anthony unsurprisingly leads the Knicks with a substantial 6.5% usage rate differential (37.7%) with Porzingis off the court this season. Clearly, Anthony deserves consideration as one of the top small forward plays on the entire slate.

Dellavedova will not play in tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after previously being listed as questionable on the Bucks’ injury report with a strained right hamstring that also forced him to miss the last two games. Malcolm Brogdon will draw his third consecutive start at point guard in Delladova’s absence. Brogdon is coming off of a monster game on Saturday and remains relatively affordable across the industry, especially on FanDuel, putting him in play as one of the top value options on Monday’s slate.

Irving will not play in tonight’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans after previously being listed as questionable on the Cavaliers’ injury report with a right hamstring injury that also forced him to miss Saturday’s win over the Charlotte Hornets. Jordan McRae will replace Irving in the starting lineup, as Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue has made it clear that Kay Felder will not start. According to our CourtIQ tool, Kevin Love actually leads the Cavaliers with a 5.3% usage rate differential (34.4%) with Irving and J.R. Smith off the court this season, while averaging 1.32 FanDuel and 1.41 DraftKings points per minute respectively. While those numbers are outstanding for Love, his sample size with Irving off court isn’t particularly large, as they typically spend most of their playing time on the court together. The news of Irving’s unavailability only further cements Love and LeBron James as elite plays this evening, as the Pelicans continue to struggle defensively against both forward positions.
