Blake Griffin out 3-6 weeks; will have minor knee surgery
The Clippers star PF will miss three to six weeks after going through a minor surgical procedure on his right knee. It’s unsure how this will affect the Clippers rotation but it’s likely additional minutes for Mo Speights and Brandon Bass with aging veteran Paul Pierce also likely to see some additional run. According to CourtIQ, one of the biggest usage beneficiaries with Griffin off the court is Chris Paul who sees a +2.9% usage bump. Jamal Crawford also sees a sizable increase at +2.2% but the biggest jump goes to Austin Rivers whose usage soars +4.6% with no Blake on the court.

Kevin Love OUT for Cleveland on Tuesday
One of the Cavs big three will sit out tomorrow as their starting PF is dealing with a knee injury. Richard Jefferson will get the start – he and Channing Frye will benefit the most and both will be reasonable value options on a full slate of games.

Ellington has a hamstring injury and while he’s day-to-day is not expected to play on Tuesday. Rodney McGruder is also questionable meaning increased workloads for the likes of Justise Winslow, Tyler Johnson, and Josh Richardson.

Rockets Head Coach Mike D’Antoni expects his center to have an MRI on his knee and added that he is currently in a lot of pain. He’s not expected to play Tuesday night. Nene Hilario would get the start but it’s hard to see him getting heavy run – that said he’s intriguing as a value option as he’s been productive in his limited playing time this season.

Lopez will get an unexpected day off tomorrow – typically we’d think Justin Hamilton would benefit but he’s not played much of late so it’ll likely be Anthony Bennett and Luis Scola who benefit the most in terms of minutes.

The veteran PG went through practice today and the Knicks are hopeful he’ll be able to play tomorrow. If he can’t go, it’ll be Brandon Jennings most likely getting another start.

Wizards Head Coach Scott Brooks stated last night that Ian Mahinmi would not play Monday when the Wizards face the Pacers while Jason Smith (right hamstring) and Kelly Oubre (concussion) are both questionable. If Smith and Oubre can’t go it’ll be big minutes for Marcin Gortat and Markieff Morris.

Tim Frazier will play in tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously being listed as probable on the Pelicans’ injury report with a sprained right wrist. Tyreke Evans and Dante Cunningham will return to the rotation for tonight’s contest, but both will be limited to around 15 minutes of playing time. The Pelicans are getting closer and closer to full strength, but that has created a log jam in their guard and wing rotations, making it difficult to feel comfortable rostering anyone other than Jrue Holiday until we get a better idea of how Pelicans’ head coach Alvin Gentry’s updated rotation shakes out.

Troy Daniels will start ahead of Troy Williams tonight; James Ennis off the bench
Ennis has been cleared to play in tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz after previously being listed on the Grizzlies’ injury report, but Troy Daniels will be inserted in the starting lineup over both Ennis and Troy Williams. Ennis will reportedly have his minutes capped at the same 28-minute mark as Mike Conley in his return from a 14-game absence due to injury. Memphis suddenly has a log jam on the wing with Ennis, Vince Carter, Troy Williams, and Troy Daniels all healthy. None of the aforementioned players make particularly good fantasy options this evening in a matchup with the Jazz that has the lowest total and lowest projected pace on the slate.

Cunningham will play in tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs after a 12-game absence due to a fractured right fibula. Cunningham will be limited to just 15 minutes in his return, as the Pelicans want to bring him along slowly coming off a leg injury. Cunningham isn’t fantasy relevant even when fully healthy, so there’s no reason to consider him as an option this evening.

Ellington will not play in tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics due to a strained right hamstring. Josh Richardson will draw the start at shooting guard in his place, but Justise Winslow is also in line for more minutes assuming the Miami coaching staff believes Winslow is healthy enough to handle a bigger workload after missing substantial time with a wrist injury. Winslow obviously carries a bit more risk off the bench but could still be an intriguing option in tournaments, as he has recorded a 27.7% usage rate, a sizable 6.6% increase over his season average, with Ellington and Waiters off the court this season.

Joseph will not play in tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic due to an illness. His absence doesn’t do a whole lot to move the needle of anyone in the Raptors’ rotation, though Fred VanVleet will likely assume the backup point guard duties. Norman Powell has historically played well with Joseph off the court and/or sidelined, but his minutes have been too inconsistent recently to trust in any format. If anything, Joseph’s absence is a nice little boost to the fantasy outlook of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan.

Stauskas will not play in tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets after previously being listed as questionable on the Sixers’ injury report with a sore left knee. Hollis Thompson is reportedly available to play in this contest and, ironically, is also the biggest beneficiary with Stauskas unavailable to play off the bench. However, Thompson would still find himself in a secondary reserve role with the Sixers relatively close to full strength, meaning it would be difficult to imagine him have the upside needed in tournaments to be a viable target.

Noel will reportedly only play in tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets in the event of foul trouble or some other kind of emergency situation. Not only is Noel unlikely to play in tonight’s contest, but he will be out of the Sixers’ rotation for the foreseeable future, according to Sixers head coach Brett Brown. This move is likely a perquisite to a potential trade, so Noel is off our fantasy radar until further notice or until he is ultimately shipped out of Philadelphia.
