Rajon Rondo (ankle) expected to play against the Bucks tonight

Rondo reportedly will play in tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks barring a setback in pregame warmups. Assuming he is able to play, Jerian Grant will head back to the bench to resume a reserve role after having mixed results in the starting unit. If not, Grant will likely remain in the starting lineup, though he only saw 20 minutes in his previous start, as Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg has been content to allow Jimmy Butler and Dwayne Wade to primarily run the point. Regardless of Rondo’s status, Butler remains an elite option in all formats and is arguably the top small forward on the board this evening.

Tyreke Evans expected to play around 15 minutes tonight

Evans will make his season debut in tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers after being sidelined with separate knee and calf injuries. According to Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry, he will be limited to only 15 minutes in his return and will not play both games of back-to-back sets for the foreseeable future, essentially ruling him out for tomorrow night’s game against the Houston Rockets. Evans will not be on our fantasy radar until his minutes increase and/or his price decreases, but his presence in the lineup is a slight knock to the value of Langston Galloway and Tim Frazier once he returns from injury.

Jerryd Bayless had surgery to repair his wrist, will miss the remainder of the season

Bayless underwent surgery on his injured left wrist and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season, according to Sixers’ President of Basketball Operations. This news means that Sergio Rodriguez will be locked into the starting point guard role going forward barring some sort of mid-season trade. Rodriguez has performed well as a starter and will be a viable option on most nights while his price remains affordable.

James Ennis (calf) expected to play on Friday against the Kings

James Ennis has missed the Grizzlies past 13 games but is expected to return to the court on Friday. His salary has stayed relatively low due to the injury and there is a chance that he goes into the starting lineup. Ennis started all but one game before his injury so it’s not big news that Ennis could return to the starting lineup. Hopefully, the Grizzlies provide an update regarding his minutes so we can decide if he is a viable option. As of now, Ennis is a strict GPP play that has a ton of downside. The upside is also there against a bad Sacramento team. Troy Williams would likely go to the bench with the return of Ennis..

Toney Douglas has been waived by the Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have waived guard Toney Douglas. This means that injured players that have been inactive for a while could be on their way back to the active roster. We don’t have any further updates at this time and will continue to monitor the Grizzlies in advance of tomorrow’s game against the Kings.

Carmelo Anthony (shoulder) ruled out for tonight's game against the Warriors

Anthony will not play tonight due a sore shoulder and his replacement has not been named at this time. Lance Thomas would most likely start and does an acceptable floor if he does end up starting. This game has a chance of really getting out of hand and you should proceed with caution on all the Knicks players. They are tournament plays at best and extremely risky ones at that. Kristaps Porzingis sees the highest bump in usage with Rose and Anthony off but since he’s the focal point of the Warriors’ defense, it’s likely he’ll be taken out of his game as well.

Luc Mbah a Moute (shoulder) ruled out for Friday

Mbah a Moute did not play last night against the Orlando Magic. Austin Rivers started in his place and played 38 minutes. Rivers had his best game of the season and has played well over this last three games. It will be really interesting to see how much his salary spikes for Friday’s game against the Heat. Rivers is still a tournament option against the Heat because it will be a slow-paced defensive battle.

Kemba Walker OUT on Friday (personal)

Walker will miss Friday’s game due to personal reasons and the team hopes he will be able to return for the weekend. Ramon Sessions and Brian Roberts with Sessions the likely starter.

All Nuggets available to play tonight against Portland

Denver’s finally fully healthy as all players are available tonight for their game against the Trail Blazers. This includes Gary Harris who has been out an extended period of time. It’s hard to tell how this will impact Mike Malone and his inconsistent rotations – the Nuggets will be a hard team to go to today because of all their players being available – Nikola Jokic is easily the top play on the team but you can also perhaps look at Will Barton, Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler as viable (but risky) options.

Derrick Rose OUT for Knicks tonight

Knicks Head Coach Jeff Hornacek stated his starting PG is out tonight against the Warriors. This puts Brandon Jennings at the top of the list in terms of value PG plays as he is priced under $5k on the two major DFS sites. He’ll be highly owned, however, due to how early this news comes out so there is always merit to fading him in GPP’s (cash is a different story).

Zaza Pachulia goes through shootaround

The Warriors big man surprisingly took part in the team shootaround today after missing the last three games and initially being listed as doubtful. It appears there may be a chance he plays tonight against the Knicks which would be a huge hit to the value of JaVale McGee (who would have been a top value option if Pachulia sat). We’ll keep an eye on this situation and update you when more news comes in.

Rodney Stuckey and Monta Ellis OUT tonight for Pacers

Both players were anticipated to miss today’s game and the team has confirmed that. The Pacers are in New Orleans to face the Pelicans. Glenn Robinson and C.J. Miles benefit the most as a result of these two being out and both are viable options on a small five-game slate.

Early injury report for Friday's games

Jeremy Lin – practiced on Thursday and should be able to play as Nets begin three game road trip. If he can’t go for some reason, it’ll be a boost to the value of Sean Kilpatrick and Isaiah Whitehead/

Markieff Morris – he’s a game-time decision for Friday with a sore left foot. Kelly Oubre would likely get the start if he sits again (he missed Wednesday’s game)

Lucas Nogueira – questionable for Friday’s game with a sore right knee.

Dario Saric, Joel Embiid, and Nerlens Noel – Saric and Embiid collided in practice but both players are still considered probable. Noel is listed as questionable.

Tim Frazier doubtful; Tyreke Evans set to make season debut for Pelicans

While it appears unlikely that Tim Frazier will play today the Pelicans have a more than adequate replacement for him as Tyreke Evans is set to return to action tonight. Jrue Holiday is also listed as probable. Evans isn’t in play today but Holiday has some value given the workload he’s expected to see.

David Lee confirmed in starting lineup for LaMarcus Aldridge (rest) tonight

Lee will draw the start at power forward in tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics in place of the resting LaMarcus Aldridge. In the Spurs previous matchup with Boston, Lee peformed extremely well in just 17 minutes, posting an impressive stat line of 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists. Now, Lee is highly unlikely to put up numbers anywhere close to that this evening, but he is still an elite option tonight at a barren power forward position. Fire him up with confidence in any format.
