Terrence Jones starting in place of Anthony Davis
Davis will not play in tonight’s game against Orlando with a right thigh contusion. Terrence Jones will draw the start at power forward in his place and receives a massive boost in his projected fantasy value in the starting unit. Omer Asik should see a majority of the minutes at the center position, while Solomon Hill and Dante Cunningham may see more time at the four if New Orleans decides to roll with small-ball lineups more frequently. However, there is a ton of extra usage that needs to be distributed throughout the starting unit, making nearly every Pelicans starter tournament viable. Though, Jones seems to be the only true cash target this evening.

Al Horford (concussion) ruled out for Wednesday
Horford has been officially ruled out for tonight’s game against Dallas after being listed as doubtful earlier in the day. Celtics coach Brad Stevens will continue to utilize the same starting lineup of Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk, and Amir Johnson for the third consecutive game. Olynyk and Smart will continue to be excellent mid-range options while Horford remains out, and Thomas will continue to see elite usage, making him a viable play in all formats around the industry.

Ilyasova will take over as the Sixers starting power forward for tonight’s game against Washington, sending Dario Saric to the bench in a reserve role. With Embiid already ruled out due to rest, the Philadelphia big men were already in line for a heavier minute workload this evening. Ilyasova now goes from a tournament value option to cash game viable with this news, as he could approach 30 minutes in this contest with extra usage to go around in the starting unit in Embiid’s absence.

Tyson Chandler has missed the previous four games but is projected to start tonight against the Nuggets. He should be considered a viable tournament option that would need to boost his fantasy value with rebounds. He is not a primary scorer but has been extremely consistent in them minutes he has played so far this season. He was averaging 30.2 FDFP over his last three contests before having to miss the past four.

LeBron James will not be playing tonight against the Pacers. Richard Jefferson has started in his place in the past but the Cavs are also dealing with the injured ankle of J.R. Smith. Jefferson started in place of Smith last night, so it’s likely we’ll see a whole new starting lineup for tonight. We should have another update on who will replace James and if Smith is playing.

Justise Winslow and Goran Dragic both missed last night’s game due to their injuries. Goran Dragic looked better in practice and has a chance to play against the Bucks. No update has been provided on Winslow and we could see another starting lineup variation. Look for another update regarding the Heat tomorrow.

Danny Green was questionable for tonight’s game and has been upgraded to a game-time decision. He would need to play 24+ minutes to really make an impact and is not a lock for those minutes. With his possible return, Jonathon Simmons and Kyle Anderson would see a reduction in their roles. Stay tuned for more Spurs’ updates since they are also dealing with Pau Gasol’s neck injury.

Doug McDermott will not be playing against the Jazz tomorrow. Nikola Mirotic has stepped up a couple times in the absence of McDermott but is not a consistent viable option. Jimmy Butler has averaged 37 minutes in his last four games and remains an elite must start in cash games with McDermott out. He’ll have a tougher time against the Jazz tomorrow but with Hayward possibly missing the game, Joe Johnson could start and is extremely exploitable.

Allen will miss his fourth straight game due to a sore right groin. James Ennis figures to continue to see 25-30 minutes at the SG spot, but Vince Carter also figures to maintain a healthy workload and Chandler Parsons’ minutes are beginning to normalize in the mid-twenties. Even with Allen out here, Marc Gasol is the only intriguing DFS option on the Memphis side. If Parsons also sits, Ennis would become a viable punt play, as would Carter.

Rajon Rondo was not able to go through practice today. He missed last night’s game against the Trail Blazers due to the injury. He is listed as a game-time decision for tomorrow’s contest against the Jazz in Utah. Jerian Grant stepped up in the absence of Rondo and provided 35.8 DKFP. He’ll be a risky option against the strong defense of the Jazz tomorrow if he starts.

Dedmon had already been ruled out for today’s game so him not making the trip with the team is just a confirmation of that news. Dedmon hasn’t played much of late, averaging less than 10 minutes a game over his last four games played. David Lee should pick up those minutes in his absence but he’s not a viable DFS option as he hasn’t topped 20 minutes but twice all season and has been held under 20 FanDuel fpts in seven straight games – he can get you five times his low salary but his upside is capped there.

Anthony Davis downgraded to questionable vs. Magic
It’s never good to see players downgraded during the day, so there appears to be a decent shot that Davis will end up sitting out. Considering he’s the only consistent playmaker on the New Orleans side, a ton of potential value would open up if he is ruled out. This news may not be a big help to a guy like Tim Frazier, who is reliant on Davis’ potential to a degree to rack up assists, but it would theoretically improve the upside of almost every other player on the team. Terrence Jones would become the strongest play on the New Orleans side, with Solomon Hill, E’Twaun Moore and Buddy Hield likely to take on more offensive responsibility.

Derrick Favors will not play Thursday for Jazz
Favors and his injured knee will not play tomorrow for Utah when they take on the Chicago Bulls. Trey Lyles will be the biggest beneficiary as he has been for most of the time that Favors has missed thus far this season.

Horford doesn’t look as if he’s going to be ready to play tonight as the team has listed him as doubtful for their game against the Mavericks. Kelly Olynyk is coming off a disappointing outing but will likely get the start again and is worthy of consideration as a value option. Amir Johnson and Tyler Zeller will also receive a boost in playing time if Horford sits.
