Thomas Robinson ruled out for Monday; Henry Sims to start
Henry Sims and Chris McCollough will start in the Nets front-court with Thomas Robinson ruled out. Both players should see a nice chunk of playing time (at least 20-25 minutes if they can avoid early foul trouble) given how short-handed the Nets are, although neither player carries a ceiling similar to Robinson. McCollough seems more likely to lead the front-court in playing time, which makes him the better DFS target here.

Greg Monroe to start on Monday
Monroe will start at center tonight against the Magic. The Bucks aren’t playing for anything at this point and it’s a little surprising they aren’t resting anyone considering that if they win, they’ll tie the Magic for the 10-11 spots in the lottery. For that reason the starters here are a little risky, but we’ve yet to really see the Bucks take it easy on their starters in games where they aren’t resting. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and Khris Middleton are all squarely in play against an undermanned Magic team.

Tristan Thompson will be the Cavs starting center from here on out, replacing Timofey Mozgov. This does improve Thompson’s outlook due to his minutes total becoming more secure as a starter, and he’ll do battle with a Hawks front-court that has had a lot of trouble winning the rebounding battle this season. Assuming he clears 26-28 minutes, Thompson is a great bet for 10+ boards.

The Magic are in full-on tank mode and they’ll presumably rest this group through the rest of this season. With Vucevic and Gordon out, Ersan Ilyasova should clear 25+ minutes as the starting PF while Andrew Nicholson and Dewayne Dedmon will also see time in the front-court. Evan Fournier and Elfrid Payton both become stronger plays with Oladipo out of the lineup – the Magic don’t have any real reason to limit the playing time of those two. The Bucks are also out of playoff contention, so this game doesn’t have any real meaning to either team.

The Kings will continue to be without their top bench scorers on Monday. They will only have 10 available players making James Anderson and Caron Butler valuable off the bench. Anderson has the higher upside but also did not play well in his last game. Anderson has proven that he is not a huge scoring threat thus limiting his upside. Anderson still has some appeal due to the matchup but there are other value options available in this game. With nine games on the slate, Butler lacks the upside needed to win a GPP.

Tyson Chandler (concussion) ruled out against the Kings; Archie Goodwin (ankle) doubtful
Chandler will not be playing on Monday after suffering a concussion on Saturday. Jon Leuer will likely replace him in the starting lineup and is a strong punt play with his salary sub-4k on both major sites. If Leuer does get the start he should 28-32 minutes against the Kings. In 25 starts this season, Leuer is averaging 22.03 FanDuel fpts, providing us a solid floor in a game with the highest projected total (218). Archie Goodwin is doubtful with an ankle injury after exceeding 8x in his last two performances. With Goodwin expected to be out, Ronnie Price will get most of the minutes at PG and John Jenkins will be used as his backup. Price should be considered an elite punt play and Jenkins is a GPP dart throw.

Cousins, Rondo, and Collison will not be playing on Monday in Phoenix. Rondo has not played the last two games and Collison has started in his place. Since Collison is also ruled out, Curry is expected to start at PG. Curry’s first start with the Kings this season was against the Suns where he scored 12 points (two 3-pointers) and grabbed 4 rebounds with a dime and a block. Curry managed 19.3 FanDuel fpts in 26 minutes against the Suns, which should be considered his floor tonight. Curry should be expected to play over 30 minutes with Rondo and Collison out. Since late March, he is averaging 28.57 fpts when he plays over 32 minutes, making him a safe option in all formats.

Beal is considered questionable but isn’t listed as a probable starter, so there is a good chance he ends up missing tonight’s game. The Wizards have been eliminated from playoff contention and given Beal’s history with injuries over his short career, it’d be surprising if they took a chance and had him suit up against Brooklyn. Marcus Thornton would become a very nice GPP play if he sits, while Ramon Sessions would also pick up some value. We’ll update Beal’s status when we have more information.

With the Bulls eliminated from playoff contention, they have essentially decided to rest their team so that they are healthy going into next season. Pau Gasol, Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson, and E’Twaun Moore were all ruled out for the season just as a precautionary measure, but it looks like Jimmy Butler will finish the season out. In the Bulls’ final two games, Butler becomes a top option on the board regardless of the match-up just because of the huge bump in usage he will inevitably see. Throughout the season, when all of these guys were off the court our RotoGrinders CourtIQ tells us that Butler has a 30% usage rating and his fantasy points per minute shoot up to 1.13. If he is expected to play 38-40 minutes like he has been, he will have no trouble exceeding value and at this point is almost expected to hit 6x or 7x. Luckily for us, the Pelicans are also very depleted and they are poor at defending opposing SGs. They are 26th in DvP vs. SGs and Butler should be able to really exploit their defense. He is by far one of the top cash game options along with James Harden, however he would be an interesting fade in GPPs. The rotations at the end of the season are unpredictable, and with the Bulls resting all these players it wouldn’t be out of the question that they take it easy on Butler too. With that being said, the opportunity presented still makes him a tough fade in any format.
Thomas Robinson doubtful for Monday
Robinson is considered doubtful for tonight’s tilt with the Wizards. He’s been a monster in terms of fantasy production since the Nets began resting Thaddeus Young and Brook Lopez, but that trend appears to be coming to an end here tonight. He left yesterday’s game with the Pacers after just nine minutes on the floor and it’s very likely that he doesn’t see the court against this season. Chris McCollough and Henry Sims stand to benefit with Robinson unlikely to play, although neither player did anything of note in yesterday’s game. With the Nets front-court as thin as it is, expect both players to clear 20-25 minutes against the Wizards.

Both Victor Oladipo and Aaron Gordon are listed as out for tonight’s game with the Bucks. Neither team has anything on the line here, so Orlando is playing it safe and choosing to allow two of their long-term pieces to rest the final few games of the 2015-2016 season. Oladipo had been seeing massive minutes over the last few months, while Gordon has just started to get into the rhythm of playing meaningful minutes in the NBA night in and night out. Elfrid Payton and Evan Fournier both pick up value with Oladipo out, but there aren’t really any intriguing options in the front-court outside of Nikola Vucevic, who should feast on the Bucks interior.

The Bucks aren’t really playing for anything at this point, but with Monroe having rested against the Sixers last game it’s likely that he plays his normal allotment of minutes tonight (25-30). His price has fallen on most DFS outlets and sits at just $5,600 on FanDuel, so he’s still in play as a contrarian GPP option. Miles Plumlee’s value takes a hit with Monroe back, but Plumlee should still clear 18-20 minutes of court time, although that isn’t enough to make him a viable DFS target.

With all the key Bulls players resting the last two games, Snell will see the court according to Bulls Head Coach Fred Hoiberg. After 8 straight DNP-CD’s, Snell is not someone we’d recommend as a DFS option but if he sees run tonight he could be worth a flyer in the team’s last game.

Derrick Favors questionable for Jazz tonight
Favors missed the last game for the Jazz and is considered questionable for their huge game against the Mavericks tonight. If he is unable to go, Trey Lyles would likely get the start and would be a top value option at PF. Lyles put up 31.2 FanDuel fpts in 32 minutes on Sunday with Favors sitting. We’ll update you on Favors status later today when we learn more.

With the playoffs out of the picture, the Bulls will be resting four key players for their team including Gasol and Rose for their last two games. Jimmy Butler is the biggest beneficiary by far as his usage soars through the roof with those two off the court and he makes for a great pivot off of Harden or pairing with him if you want to pay up at SG. Outside of Butler, the players that stand to benefit the most are Nikola Mirotic, Bobby Portis, Aaron Brooks, Cristiano Felicio, and Justin Holiday. The first three of that group are excellent options that should be able to put up 20+ fpts (or much more) with relative ease against a Pelicans squad that has been horrid on defense of late. Once we find out what the starting lineup is for the Bulls, we’ll post it here.
