Kobe Bryant will play today; should see just shy of 30 minutes
Lakers Head Coach Byron Scott stated Bryant would play tonight and would get close to 28 minutes. Bryant is the definition of GPP only play – he has the upside to put up big numbers (as he did three games ago against Boston with a 45+ fpt outing) but can also lay an egg (as he did two games ago with a 10 fpt outing). The Pelicans are a great match up so Bryant is worth a look; but it’s probably best to limit your exposure. His playing is a slight downgrade to Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell.

John Wall doesn't go through shoot around; status uncertain for tonight
Wall missed the team shoot around and is a game-time decision for tonight’s game. Alan Anderson did take part and expects to play. If Wall were to sit again, Ramon Sessions becomes a top play at the PG position (his ownership would be sky-high, however, so there is merit to a GPP fade) and Bradley Beal receives a bump as well due to usage increase. We’ll update you on Wall’s status later tonight when we learn more.

Hornets Head Coach Clifford stated Batum would test out his sore knee in pre-game warmups and try to play tonight when the team takes on the Nets. If he is able to go, he’s a great SG/SF option going against a Nets team that has been terrible on defense, especially of late. His return would be a significant downgrade for the DFS viability of Jeremy Lin. We’ll update you on Batum’s status later as soon as we hear of it.

Vucevic will return to the starting lineup after thriving off the bench since his return from injury. He has put up 154 FanDuel fpts in those four games including two straight 40+ outings. However, expectations should be tempered as he has a tough match up against Hassan Whiteside and the Miami Heat tonight. With his price tag at $8K on FanDuel, he’s an easy fade there. He’s still in play at DraftKings where his price is at $7.1K.

Porzingis will miss his fifth consecutive game today giving Derrick Williams another likely start. Williams has averaged 23 FanDuel fpts per game in Porzingis’s absence but his price has risen to the mid $4k range on both major sites. However, it is a very plus match up as he takes on a 76ers team that is 29th in fantasy points allowed per game and 28th in PF DvP. Williams is in play in all formats.

Williams will miss yet another game for the Mavericks – not unexpected and it once again puts J.J. Barea in play. However, Barea’s price has now soared to $6.8k on FanDuel and $6.5k on DraftKings so if there were ever a time to fade him, today would be that day, especially with all the value options that will be out there today. That said, he has been as safe as they come the last five games with at least 34 FanDuel fpts in each of those games. That kind of safety is hard to find and makes him a definite option in cash games.

The Kings will be with Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins in this game. The starters are confirmed from the tentative listing earlier. Rudy Gay’s ownership is expected to be low for a five-game slate due to the fact that he did not play in the previous game. Gay had exactly 41.3 DKFP in his last two starts playing over 36 minutes. Gay is a strong mid-range play with upside with Cousins and Rondo out.

Spurs expected to start Parker, Green, Leonard, Aldridge, and Duncan against the Warriors
The Spurs are expected to start their normal five, the same they started in their victory on Tuesday against the Jazz. Boris Diaw did not travel with the team and will not travel to Denver for Friday’s game.

Rudy Gay will be looking to return to the starting lineup after a one-game absence. Gay was resting so the Kings got Curry back into the starting lineup. Curry is averaging 30.76 fantasy points in his last three games, two of which were starts. With Cousins and Rondo out of the lineup, the 10x potential at his punt level salary outweighs the risks. We will confirm the starters once they become official.

Motiejunas will return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench on Wednesday. He is a boom-or-bust option that has the ability to get 30+ fantasy points. On a short slate, Motiejunas offers salary relief at forward. He is averaging 1.25 FP/min when he plays over 20 minutes a game. If he can stay in the game he does have some nice potential. K.J. McDaniels is no longer an option off the bench.

Mirotic had a 40.5 fpts night against Memphis on Tuesday, his third game of 40+ fpts in the last five games. With the Bulls scratching for a spot in the playoffs, Mirotic will likely play over 30 minutes against the Heat. Mirotic is a legit mid-range play that can get up to 8x. He still does carry risk since his game is scoring dependent. Bobby Portis is not a viable option off the bench.

Gibson will be out for the fifth consecutive game on Thursday. There is no timetable for his return and no official starter has been named at this time. Nikola Mirotic or Boby Portis could start but Portis has not seen over 20 minutes in his four starts so his upside is limited.

Sefolosha will be replacing Kent Bazemore in the starting lineup on Thursday. Sefolosha is averaging 22.73 DrafKings fantasy points in ten starts this season. He is a minimum price option across the industry so he does have some nice upside if he plays over 24 minutes. Tim Hardaway will be Sefolosha’s backup and is also a viable low-end option that could see 20 minutes.

Whiteside has been confirmed in the lineup and will come off the bench on Thursday. Whiteside is nice upside play but does not have a ton of upside making him a better cash game play than GPP. Whiteside is still in GPP consideration because his questionable status could keep his ownership levels low. Whiteside is expected to play around 30 minutes and has a nice floor for us to rely on. Whiteside has only scored under 40 fpts once in his last six games.

Leuer is available to play against the Rockets but there is no word on how many minutes he could see. With Leuer coming off the bench we could see Mirza Teletovic’s value take a hit. Teletovic was averaging 33.62 DKFP over his last fives games. Teletovic was a nice play in an uptempo game but might see slightly fewer minutes if Leuer plays. Teletovic is still a viable option but he is no longer a plug-and-play with his price having creeped up.
