DeMarre Carroll

Houston Rockets
4/07/16, 7:00 PM ET

DeMarre Carroll (knee) active on Thursday

Carroll will be active against his former team on Thursday. There is no word if he will start or if he will play. If Carroll does play, it won’t be for more than 15 minutes. Carroll is a low-end DFS option with the minutes restriction and is better left off your rosters. James Johnson, Terrence Ross, and Norman Powell all take a hit in their value with Carroll looking to get back into the mix.

E'Twaun Moore (hamstring) ruled out on Thursday; Taj Gibson remains doubtful

Moore will miss his second consecutive game due to a hamstring issue. Taj Gibson continues to be doubtful and is not expected to play. Gibson might miss the rest of the season with his fractured ribs. Bobby Portis has been starting in his place and finally broke out against the Grizzlies on Tuesday. Portis had 26.3 DraftKings fantasy points in 19 minutes. It is not likely that he will be able to bust out like that against the Heat but he has shown over the course of the season the ability to put up back-to-back good games. Portis needs to play over 20 minutes to be considered anything more than a low-end punt play.

Hassan Whiteside

Utah Jazz

Hassan Whiteside warming up with the intention to play on Thursday

Whiteside was dealing with a leg issue but the Heat are saying that he is good to go against the Bulls. Whiteside has a chance to be a low-owned player on this slate with his status questionable for most of the day. The upside is there with Whiteside against a Bulls team that ranks 19th in DRE vs. Cs. Whiteside will continue to come off the bench on Thursday.

Kent Bazemore

Sacramento Kings
4/07/16, 6:31 PM ET

Kent Bazemore ruled out for Thursday

Kent Bazemore has been ruled out of Thursday’s tilt with the raptors. His replacement has not been named at this time but it could be either Tim Hardaway Jr. or Thabo Sefolosha. Hardaway started for Bazemore when he missed against the Hawks in the middle of March. Hardaway exploded with 38.8 DraftKings fantasy points in 30 minutes in that game. While we can’t expect that much against a strong defensive team, he does have some nice upside with his price at a minimum across the industry. Confirm that Hardaway is the starter before locking him into your lineups on Thursday.

Kristaps Porzingis

Golden State Warriors
4/07/16, 6:16 PM ET

Kristaps Porzingis (shoulder) doubtful for Friday

The Knicks are listing Porzingis as doubtful for Friday’s contest tilt against the Sixers. Derrick Williams has started all four games that Porzingis has missed, averaging 25.32 DKFP in those games. Williams is a nice punt option that has seen his asking price spike to $4,600 on DraftKings. He should still be considered an upside play in an easy matchup. We should have something confirming Porzinginis after shootaround tomorrow.

Aaron Gordon

Denver Nuggets
4/07/16, 6:07 PM ET

Aaron Gordon (concussion) ruled out for Friday

Aaron Gordon will not be playing on Friday against the Heat. His replacement has not been named as this time and we should have an update tomorrow after shootaround. Ersan Ilyasova is the likeliest candidate to replace Gordon in the starting lineup. Ilyasova has not played the past seven games making which caused his salary to drop all the way to the minimum. If Ilyasova starts he does have some nice upside with the Heat playing on the second night of a back-to-back.

DeMarre Carroll

Houston Rockets
4/07/16, 5:48 PM ET

DeMarre Carroll (knee) listed as questionable for Thursday

Carroll was listed as out in the earlier game notes but has been upgraded to questionable. Carroll wants to return before the playoffs start and the Raptors only have four more games after tonight. Carroll will be a low-end DFS option against his former team even if he does play. We should have something official soon with the Raptors playing in the first game of the night.

James Harden

Cleveland Cavaliers
4/07/16, 5:09 PM ET

James Harden is worth paying up for in a big game for the Rockets

James Harden was very highly owned last night vs. Dallas, and while he didn’t put up an absolute dud, 43 DK points certainly wasn’t up to his standards. He burned some people last night but he has been very steady recently and is one of the premier superstars in DFS averaging over 56 DK points in his last ten games. He is in a great bounce back spot against the Suns who are 29th in DvP vs. SGs and play at a relatively fast tempo. The Rockets are one game behind the Jazz for the eighth seed in the West, so it goes without saying that this is an absolute must-win game for them. At this point in the season it is sometimes more beneficial to give the nod to elite players in must-win games as opposed to players in good matchups, but luckily for us we get both. Harden is a superstar that will need to take over this game in order to will his team to the playoffs and he also has a great match-up. What more could you ask for on a short slate like today? If you are paying up for anyone tonight, do everything you can to fit Harden’s hefty salary into your lineups.

Tim Frazier

Cleveland Cavaliers
4/07/16, 5:22 PM ET

Tim Frazier (ankle) probable for Friday; Norris Cole (back) questionable

Tim Frazier hurt his ankle against the Celtics but is listed as probable for Friday. Frazier did not start against the on Wednesday but was still able to put up 7x on FanDuel. Expect his price to spike after three consecutive strong performances. Norris Cole is questionable but has not played since early March.

Austin Rivers

Minnesota Timberwolves
4/07/16, 5:10 PM ET

Austin Rivers and Jeff Green questionable for Friday

Rivers did not play last night against the Clippers and is questionable for Friday’s game against the Jazz. Jeff Green exited early with a knee injury and is also questionable. If Rivers misses the game, expect C.J. Wilcox to pick up some extra minutes with Chris Paul also out. Wilcox is a low-end option and is only really viable on the late slate. The Clippers don’t have much depth so the starters will likely see 28-32 minutes. The Clippers probable starters are currently Pablo Prigioni, Jamal Crawford, Luc Mbah a Moute, Paul Pierce, and Cole Aldrich.

Chris Paul

Toronto Raptors
4/07/16, 5:04 PM ET

Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Wesley Johnson all ruled out for Friday

All four Clippers will not be making the trip to Utah on Friday. Jamal Crawford and Cole Aldrich will be the biggest beneficiaries with four starters not in the lineup. Both Aldrich and Crawford should see over 30 minutes against the Jazz but are low-end options on the road. The Jazz are a stout defensive team and there are better options on a ten-game slate for Friday.

Marco Belinelli

San Antonio Spurs
4/07/16, 5:01 PM ET

Marco Belinelli (ankle) and Omri Casspi (hamstring) ruled out

Belinelli and Casspi will not play tonight and we expect James Anderson and Ben McLemore to take their spot in the rotation. McLemore floor is extremely low but he deserves some consideration with Rondo and Cousins out of the lineup. McLemore would need to start to really be a viable option. James Anderson has been seeing more minutes as of late but is still a boom-or-bust option. Expect Rudy Gay and Darren Collison to pick up most of the usage with the stars out of the lineup.

As reported by: James Ham Other tagged players: Omri Casspi, Rudy Gay, Darren Collison

DeMarcus Cousins

Denver Nuggets
4/07/16, 4:53 PM ET

DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo are sitting out tonight’s game to rest

Cousins and Rondo will not play on Thursday against the Timberwolves. Darren Collison is expected to replace Rondo and Willie Cauley-Stein could start for Cousins. There are no official starters at this time and we don’t expect anything for another couple hours with the Kings playing at home. Collison has been averaging 29.72 FanDuel fantasy points over his last four games while playing 30+ minutes in all of those contests. Collison started two out of those four games and should be cash game staple tonight. With five games on the slate, it’s tough to fade Collison in tournaments as well.

As reported by: James Ham Other tagged players: Rajon Rondo, Darren Collison, Willie Cauley-Stein

John Wall

LA Clippers
4/07/16, 3:31 PM ET

John Wall questionable for Friday

John Wall is traveling with the team to Detroit today and is listed as questionable to play tomorrow. The Wizards still have meaningful games in the season’s final week, which will make Wall an elite high-end option if he’s active. If he ends up sitting out again, Ramon Sessions and Bradley Beal would both become excellent dollar per point plays against Detroit.

Evan Turner

Minnesota Timberwolves
4/07/16, 2:19 PM ET

Evan Turner expected to return this weekend

The Celtics have games on Friday and Saturday, and it’s looking more likely that we see Turner in the back-end of that two-game set. His eye injury ended up being much less severe than he had initially feared, but he’ll wear protective goggles when he does return to the court. He’s going to take on a bench role again with Jae Crowder back in action. We’ll update Turner’s status over the next few days.
