Dion Waiters has missed four games due to personal reasons but should be in action against the Celtics. Waiters will likely be eased back into the rotation, limiting his DFS value. Waiters doesn’t have much tournament appeal and is better off avoided. His return could cause Randy Foye to lose a few minutes.

Donatas Motiejunas (calf) probable for Wednesday
Donatas Motiejunas was added to the Rockets injury list but will most likely play against the Clippers. Montiejunas has played three games with the bruise, so he should not be too limited. Motiejunas had his best game of the season on Monday but it came in a blowout against the Grizzlies. Motiejunas is a low-end punt option with Michael Beasley healthy.

Jimmy Butler will be playing on Wednesday, which is his second game back from injury. Butler started on Monday and played 34 minutes. He was not able to exceed value but faces a much easier matchup in the Wizards. Butler could go overlooked by many due to his recent struggles. With his play being so volatile recently, Butler is a tournament option only.

Mike Dunleavy missed the previous game with an illness but will play against the Wizards. With the Bulls facing a team ranked 26th in DvP against small forwards, Dunleavy is a strong play and will be under-owned. Dunleavy’s return puts a slight damper on Doug McDermott’s value. McDermott is coming off his second-best game of the season (33.7 DKFP) but will likely not see over 26 minutes tonight. With his game so reliant on scoring, McDermott needs over 30 minutes to really make a huge impact. Derrick Rose looked good in shootaround but is still a game-time decision. We will update his status once it becomes official.

Willie Cauley-Stein will start in place of Quincy Acy tonight. WCS should be considered a strong punt play against the Lakers. Cauley-Stein has scored over 20 DKFP in his last two games and should see 28+ minutes tonight. He did score 33.5 fantasy points against the Lakers earlier this season, making him appealing to tournaments and cash games.

As we noted earlier, Metta World Peace was expected to start. He is a viable option in the late slate and should see over 20 minutes tonight. Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell stand to benefit the most with Kobe Bryant out of the lineup.

Kobe Bryant will miss tonight’s contest against the Kings with a sore shoulder. He was 50-50 coming into the game, so it is no surprise that he is out. Metta World Peace is expected to start in his place and could be a viable punt option. World Peace has not scored over 21 DKFP this season so his upside is limited. Playing against the Kings does give his value a slight boost but expectations should not be too high. D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson benefit the most with Bryant out, making Lou Williams the contrarian option.

DeMar Derozan will rest tonight against the Bucks and Norman Powell will start in his place. Powell is an extremely low-end DFS option with his season-high in fantasy points at 17.7. With Derozan out of the lineup, Kyle Lowry should be considered one of the top options on the slate. Terrence Ross should also see a bump in value but is a tournament option only due to his volatile fantasy output.

Paul Pierce will miss his third consecutive game with a toe injury. Pierce was a low-end DFS play to begin and Jeff Green will start again in his place. Green is a volatile option and carries considerable risk against the Spurs. Wesley Johnson is his backup but he also is not a consistent option. Green and Johnson should only be considered as low-end tournament options.

Jonas Valanciunas injured his hand in last night’s game and will not be able to play against the Bucks. Bismack Biyombo will likely start in his place and is a viable punt target. Biyombo has started twice this season against Milwaukee, averaging 28.65 DKFP in those games. One game was for 40 fantasy points while the other was 17.3, making Biyombo a strong tournament option. With his salary sub-$4k on both major sites, Biyombo should be able to exceed value.

Per Tom Moore, Brett Brown stated that Nik Stauksas would start at SF while talking to reporters pre-game, but it now appears that he meant to say that Hollis Thompson would get the nod. The Sixers aren’t one of the better teams in terms of reporting correct starters, so hopefully we’ll get some kind of confirmation before lineups lock. Either way, Thompson is the better DFS target as he should see upwards of 30 minutes regardless of whether or not he starts.

George Hill (toe) will play Tuesday
George Hill will play and is expected to start. Hill is in a tough spot against the Celtics and should be considered a low-end DFS option for this slate. Hill is averaging 22.26 DKFP in three games this season against the Celtics, further proving his low ceiling.

John Henson will be on the active roster tonight after missing 20 games with a back injury. His minutes will likely be limited if he plays at all. With Henson in the lineup, Miles Plumlee and Johnny O’Bryant could see a dip in their minutes.

Kawhi Leonard has been outstanding as of late, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that his minutes have remained pretty consistent over the last ten games. That can be contributed to the lack of blowouts the Spurs have had lately (>10 points), and the spread is at nine points in this match up with the Clippers. In a very unappealing fantasy game like this Leonard is likely one of the only players to consider, but the main weakness of the Clippers defense is their wings. The wing defenders rank 25th in DvP vs. SFs over the last three weeks. According to RotoGrinders’ new CourtIQ tool, over the past month Kawhi Leonard has a 30% usage rating along with 1.27 DK points per minute. If we think Kawhi will play 35 minutes again tonight, he should be able to reach value as he has done a lot in the last three weeks. He has hit 4x value 90% of his games over the last three weeks, and hit 5× 70% of the time according to RotoGrinders’ consistency stats. There is not much more to like in this game but Kawhi is a good cash game play for the Spurs.

Sixers starting: Ish Smith, Canaan, Thompson, Landry, and Noel
The Sixers will go with the same lineup they used on Saturday. Four of the starters saw over 30 minutes with Carl Landry the only one to not. Still, Landry played 25 minutes and had 29.5 DKFP. Landry has scored 27 or more DKFP in three out of his last four games, making him a viable punt play against Brooklyn. Nerlens Noel gets the best matchup as the Nets rank 30th in DvP against centers.
