After having a monster game on Friday night, the Raptors will rest Kyle Lowry Sunday against the Pistons. Cory Joseph will be an elite punt play tonight with Lowry out. He is just $4,200 on both sites. DeMar DeRozan will also see a big usage bump tonight.

Hollis Thompson out Sunday
Hollis Thompson won’t play Sunday against the Magic because of an illness. Thompson was coming off the bench, so him being out won’t change a whole lot. Nik Stauskas and Isaiah Canaan will likely see some more minutes off the bench. Robert Covington will also get some more minutes with Thompson out.
Evan Fournier a game-time decision Sunday
Evan Fournier is a game-time decision Sunday against the 76ers. He has been battling a wrist injury for about a week. If he can’t go tonight, it’s hard to see one player benefiting from him being out. If anything, Fournier not playing just gives a bigger usage bump to Victor Oladipo, Nikola Vucevic, and Aaron Gordon.

DeMar DeRozan isn’t on the injury report for Sunday’s against the Pistons. He missed yesterday’s practice with an illness. DeRozan makes for a great GPP play tonight. He is always low owned in tournaments, and will even be more so today because of his questionable tag. In two games against Detroit this season; he has averaged 38 DK points per game.

Richard Jefferson will start for LeBron James Sunday against the Wizards. Jefferson makes for an intriguing punt play on today’s slate. Jefferson is minimum price on both sites. The last time James missed a game way back in December, Jefferson played 38 minutes. He finished that game with 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

LeBron James (rest) won’t play today against the Wizards. Richard Jefferson will likely start for James, but he isn’t a DFS option unless you are playing the early slate only. With James out, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are both elite options. Irving had one of his best games earlier this year against the Wizards. He finished with 47 DK points. He is just $7,000 on FD and $7,700 on DK. Love is playing his best basketball of the season right now. He has gone over 35 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He is $7,400 on DK and $7,300 on FD.

Gary Neal will miss his ninth straight game with a leg injury. Neal was coming off the bench for the Wizards, so his DFS impact was minimal. Now that Alan Anderson is back for the Wizards, Garrett Temple is no longer a punt option. Last game, Temple played just 12 minutes.

Alex Len will start for the Suns on Saturday against the Grizzlies. Last game, Kris Humphries got the start, but the Suns plan to cut him soon. Len is a GPP play only tonight. He has the upside for tournaments, but his minutes vary from game-to-game. Mirza Teletovic should also see a ton of minutes off the bench. He is coming off a 30 point against the Nets.

Brandan Wright and P.J. Hairston will remain in the starting lineup for the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies lineup came out just before lineup lock, and there was still no word on Tony Allen. Hairston will continue to start in the place of Allen. Hairston has averaged 25 FD points per game over his last two games. He makes for a nice GPP punt play. Hairston is just $3,600 on FD and $3,300 on DK. Wright got the start last night and finished with 18 FD points in 18 minutes. He makes a nice punt play at just $3,700 on FD and $3,800 on DK. He is listed as a PF on DK.

Zach LaVine will be back in the starting lineup for the Timberwolves tonight. Tayshaun Prince started the last game for Minnesota. LaVine is a safe cash game play tonight, but doesn’t give you that upside for GPPs. He has scored between 19-27 FD points in his last ten games.

Derrick Rose will miss his third straight game Saturday with a hamstring injury. Tony Snell will start for Rose, but he really isn’t a DFS option. With Rose out, E’Twaun Moore will handle the point guard duties. He did struggle yesterday, but he got into foul trouble. Moore may not have the upside for GPPs, but he makes for a nice cash game play especially on FD, where he is only $4,600. Pau Gasol will get the biggest usage bump with Rose out. Gasol has an excellent matchup against the Portland interior. Doug McDermott and Mike Dunleavy have both had over 20 FD points in the last two games. Both are priced under $4,000 on DK and FD.

Clint Capela won’t play Saturday against the Spurs because of a knee injury. Capela was coming off the bench for the Rockets, so his DFS impact was minimal. With Capela out, the Rockets will go with a smaller lineup most of the time. Trevor Ariza should see more minutes at the four.

Anthony Davis will miss Saturday’s game against Minnesota with a foot injury. With Davis out, Ryan Anderson will get the start. Anderson plays very well when Davis is out. He is averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds per game when he starts this season. He is in play in all formats tonight. He is just $5,600 on DK and $5,300 on FD.

Tonight we get another matchup between the Warriors and the Thunder with another massive over/under of 233.5. These two teams met earlier this month and the Warriors took the victory 116-108. The stars definitely came out to shine as Kevin Durant poured in 40 points, Russell Westbrook had 27, and Steph Curry put up 26 to go along with ten assists. It’s simple, you’re going to want a lot of exposure to this game tonight and frankly you will likely need at least one of these guys in your lineup. All three are great options, but Curry has a slight edge tonight for me if I were forced to pick just one. Strictly looking at recent performance, Curry has absolutely been on fire. He has been putting up historic numbers including a 51 point, seven rebound, eight assist monster performance last time out with ten three-pointers to the tune of 76 DK points. He doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon and in a high-scoring, close matchup tonight Curry will look to light it up again. He has an enormous floor to go along with an enormous ceiling, and he is the top option on the board tonight.
Shelvin Mack offers some value on a night filled with studs
Ever since Shelvin Mack was traded to the Utah Jazz he has been seeing a ton of minutes. When Mack was on the Hawks, he was behind Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder on the depth chart. Now in his three games with the Jazz he has already moved in front of Trey Burke and Raul Neto on the depth chart and has immediately carved a spot out for himself in the starting lineup. Before being traded, Mack averaged around 7-8 minutes per game, and now in his first three games as a member of the Jazz he has logged 24, 32, and 28 minutes. Obviously this is a huge positive for Mack from a DFS perspective and he offers some great value tonight. He is a lot more appealing on FanDuel at only $3,700 as opposed to DraftKings at $4,500. However, tonight may be a night where it lends itself to more of a stars and scrubs approach with several stars being in good matchups (see: Warriors vs. Thunder) and finding good value plays tonight will be crucial. Regardless of the slightly inflated price on DK, Mack still makes for a great option because of the matchup vs. the Nets. The Nets allow a lot of fantasy points to opposing PGs and are 27th in DvP vs. opposing PGs. If you need value tonight, look no further than Shelvin Mack on FD at his price, and while there are a couple other value options as well on DK, Mack is definitely in consideration.
