Tony Allen

Chicago Bulls
1/21/16, 4:00 PM ET

Tony Allen questionable for Thursday

Tony Allen is questionable for tonight’s game with the Nuggets due to a sore left knee and hamstring. Allen’s big minute totals over the last two weeks with combinations of Mike Conley, Courtney Lee and Matt Barnes missing time may have something to do with the ailment. He’s slowly falling back to a normal allotment of court time with the Grizzlies healthy. If he can’t go tonight, Courtney Lee, Matt Barnes and Jeff Green should pick up the slack, but it’s tough to peg one main beneficiary.

Jusuf Nurkic

Jusuf Nurkic will play on Thursday

After being active on Tuesday and not playing a single minute, Jusuf Nurkic went through today’s shootaround successfully and is expected to take the court tonight against Memphis. The Nuggets will need their full arsenal of big bodies to deal with Gasol and Randolph, so expect the combination of Nikola Jokic, Joffrey Lauvergne and Nurkic to see a little extra playing time as a group. Jokic is the best bet to lead the trio in minutes, although it’s not safe to project him for more than 22-24 minutes of court time at best. Nurkic should remain around 15 minutes while Lauvergne will likely fall in the 15-20 minute range. None of them are recommended plays tonight given the fluid nature of Mike Malone’s rotations.

Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard and Patrick Beverley's status for Friday's game uncertain

After leaving early in the first quarter yesterday with an ankle injury, Dwight Howard will have an MRI and his status for tomorrow’s game against the Bucks is uncertain. Patrick Beverley worked out today but his status is also uncertain at this time. Consider both questionable for now. Clint Capela and Terrence Jones would benefit if Howard can’t play and Ty Lawson would likely get another start and be worthy of punt consideration at PG if Beverley can’t go. We’ll update the two players availability tomorrow when we learn more.

Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki questionable, Raymond Felton probable for Friday

Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle stated that Raymond Felton was probable for their game Friday night against the Thunder but that Dirk Nowitzki was questionable with his right knee injury. Felton’s return has little DFS signifigance but Nowitzki’s absence could possibly open up some opportunities. We’ll update you on Dirk’s status tomorrow when we learn more.

Victor Oladipo

Memphis Grizzlies
1/21/16, 12:08 PM ET

Victor Oladipo questionable to play on Friday

Oladipo missed the last game and is questionable to play tomorrow night for the Magic. Elfrid Payton would likely get the start at PG in his absence and is coming off an excellent 40+ fantasy point performance against the 76ers last night. While the match up with the Hornets won’t be as juicy as that one, he’d still be an excellent play if Oladipo can’t go. We’ll update you on Oladipo’s status tomorrow as we learn more.

Julius Randle

Brooklyn Nets
1/20/16, 10:07 PM ET

Julius Randle confirmed as starting tonight

Julius Randle will be starting tonight against the Kings and makes for a great option tonight. It was widely known that he would likely start thus his ownership levels will likely be high. Randle is a strong rebounder and was working on his shot during the Lakers day off. Randle has double-double potential and will likely exceed value tonight.

Kevin Garnett

Minnesota Timberwolves
1/20/16, 9:36 PM ET

Kevin Garnett (rest) out Wednesday, Nikola Pekovic will play

Kevin Garnett will not be playing tonight and Nikola Pekovic will likely start in his place. Pekovic is still on a minutes limit but would make for a sleeper play tonight at C.Gorgui Dieng is the better play and will likely see over 25 minutes tonight.

As reported by: Timberwolves on Twitter Other tagged players: Gorgui Dieng, Nikola Pekovic

Zaza Pachulia

Detroit Pistons
1/20/16, 9:34 PM ET

Zaza Pachulia confirmed as starting tonight

There was concern earlier in the day if Pachulia would play but he has been listed in the starting lineup tonight. Pachulia should have a strong game against the Timberwolves tonight and is a worthy mid-range option at C.

Charlie Villanueva

Dallas Mavericks
1/20/16, 9:03 PM ET

Charlie Villanueva will start in place of Dirk at power forward.

Villanueva will be starting for the injured Dirk Nowitzki tonight but is still not much of a DFS option. Villanueva usually gets about 15 minutes when Dirk sits and usually is just a perimeter shooter. Dwight Powell will likely see most of the minutes tonight and should be in your DFS lineups. The last time Powell was able to secure over 30 minutes he had 25.25 FPs on DK, so we could expect about that much from him tonight.

Jeremy Lamb

Sacramento Kings
1/20/16, 8:31 PM ET

Jeremy Lamb (sprained toe) has been ruled out tonight

Jeremy Lamb will miss his fourth consecutive game due to the toe injury which will open up some more minutes for Jeremy Lin. Lin is a solid option tonight against the Thunder and could play even if they get blown out. Look for Nicolas Batum to also see all the miuntes he can handle, which should allow him to at least provide value tonight.

Nene Hilario

Atlanta Hawks
1/20/16, 8:03 PM ET

Nene & Gortat starting for the Wizards tonight, Dudley off the bench.

The Wizards have tried to match the size of the Heat and will be starting Nene and Gortat in the frontcourt. Dudley is still active and will be coming off the bench. Nene makes for a decent punt option but does not have a very high ceiling. Gortat has been playing well after his three-game absence due to a knee injury. Gortat has averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds in his last two games.

Dwyane Wade

Miami Heat
1/20/16, 7:52 PM ET

Dwyane Wade (shoulders) out tonight, Gerald Green starting

Dwyane Wade has been ruled out tonight and Gerald Green will start in his place. Green makes for a risky GPP play due to his knee tendinitis but the Heat have no one else that really looks to score. Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside see a bump in value with Wade out.

Julius Randle

Brooklyn Nets
1/20/16, 7:43 PM ET

Julius Randle is a viable GPP option with Larry Nance Jr. out

Larry Nance Jr. has been ruled out again today and that means Julius Randle will once again start at PF for the Lakers vs. the Kings. The Kings cannot play defense on anyone and are second to last in the league against opposing PFs. Randle likely won’t see above 30 minutes because his coach is Byron Scott, but he has been productive with the time he has been given. He sits at only $5,400 on DraftKings and has the opportunity to reach value again tonight. The over/under for the game is a huge total of 215, the second highest of the day. Neither team are very good defensively and it should be a fast-paced, high-scoring outing. Julius Randle doesn’t have huge upside, but he does have a fairly high floor given the amount of minutes he should see.

Derrick Favors

Atlanta Hawks
1/20/16, 7:39 PM ET

Derrick Favors ruled out again, Trey Lyles to start

Nothing new with Favors being ruled out again but Trey Lyles is a solid punt option tonight due to Favors’ absence. Lyles should only be used in tournaments since he has not shown consistency during all the time Favors has missed.

As reported by: Jody Genessy Other tagged players: Trey Lyles

Ty Lawson

Washington Wizards
1/20/16, 7:33 PM ET

Ty Lawson starting with Patrick Beverley out

Ty Lawson will be getting the start tonight for the injured Patrick Beverley who is out with an ankle injury. Lawson and Terry will likely share the PG duties tonight with Lawson receiving slightly more minutes due to his youth. Lawson makes for a great punt option on a night where the position is so top heavy. Lawson is a tournament play only and should be used a secondary option.
