Chicago Bulls starting lineup
The Bulls are starting Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Nikola Mirotic, Taj Gobson, and Pau Gasol in their game against the Thunder. Mirotic and Gibson are excellent value’s today as they will start and should see close to 30 minutes (or more).

New Orleans Pelicans starting lineup
The Pelicans are starting Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, Alonzo Gee, Anthony Davis, and Omer Asik today against the Miami Heat. It’s a tough match up for the Pelicans against the defensive-minded Heat who rank top six at four positions in terms of DvP. Tyreke Evans always has the huge upside you look for in a GPP and could be a good pivot off of the popular plays of the day (Curry, Westrbook, and Paul).

The Heat’s starting lineup for today’s game is Goran Dragic, Dwayne Wade, Luol Deng, Chris Bosh, and Hassan Whiteside. Whiteside in particular is a great play across the industry going against a Pelican’s defense that is second worst in terms of DvP versus the center position.

The Pelicans activated Ajinca to their roster today and he’ll be eligible to play in their game against the Heat. He’s not a viable DFS option at this time.

Pelicans Head Coach Alvin Gentry stated this morning that Jrue Holiday has been cleared to play both games of their back-to-back which means he’ll take the floor today. Holiday has been producing at well over a fantasy point per minute over his last eight games and while his price has risen he is in consideration as a mid-range value today. That being said, however, the Heat are a pace-down team that ranks 3rd in DvP against the PG position so keep that in mind when making your roster decisions.

The Miami Heat have announced that PG Goran Dragic will play today in their Christmas day game against the Pelicans. The Pelicans are second worst in the league in PG DvP over the season but have been much improved of late (1st in the league over the last 7). Dragic playing removes some value from the Heat, especially in regards to Beno Udrih who would have been a chalk punt play at PF if Dragic had sat. Dragic himself has played better of late with at least 27.9 FanDuel points in his last four games (28.5 on DK) but there are probably better options to choose from at the PG position unless you’re looking to save to pay up elsewhere.

The Miami Heat have confirmed that guard Tyler Johnson will not play today in their game against the Pelicans. Gerald Green is the biggest benefactor of this news and is a solid value play on this small five game slate. The Pelicans are 24th in SG DvP over the season and worst in the league over the last seven.

The Phoenix Suns announced that forward Markieff Morris has been suspended by the team for two games for throwing a towel at Head Coach Jeff Hornacek. Morris has been a huge disappointment this year and is not currently a viable DFS option anyway. This is good news for the DFS value of Jon Leuer who has produced well of late when given playing time.

All Heat players practiced today according to Head Coach Erik Spoelstra. Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson will both give it a shot tomorrow and are considered game-time decisions. Josh McRoberts will continue to be out. We’ll update tomorrow when we get the official word.

The Lakers have confirmed that Julius Randle is out tonight. Look for Larry Nance to get some extended run with Randle out. Nance has been playing decent in his starts and should be considered. Brandon Bass finally showed up with 11 points last night and is likely to pick up all the minutes that were meant for Randle. Bass is a veteran player so there is a chance he does not play a ton in the event of a blowout.

Julius Randle (ankle) still questionable tonight
Julius Randle is dealing with an ankle injury and has been listed as questionable for tonight’s contest against the Thunder. Randle was coming off the bench and was a boom-or-bust option tonight anyways. With his questionable status, he should be removed from any lineups and not be considered at all. The Lakers will likely get blown out, so they will take the cautious approach on their young big man with a history of leg injuries.

The Nuggets will be using a crazy starting lineup with all their injuries. It seems they do not want to bring Will Barton in with the starters and will continue to use him off the bench. Mike Miller will not be playing a ton of minutes so Barton will likely get to play once Miller runs out of gas. Randy Foye should be able to hit some shots tonight, but he is a scorer and not much else. Kenneth Faried and Gary Harris are the only usual starters for the Nuggets, with Faried being the only real DFS play.

The Nuggets are completely decimated by injuries and will turn to Mike Miller in the starting lineup. Mike Miller might get free tonight for some open shots against the Suns. He does not do much outside of scoring so he is tough to recommend. He is basically a minimum priced player and should be able to at least hit value.

The Suns will continue to tinker with their lineups and bring Alex Len in with the starters. Tyson Chandler will go to the bench and has no DFS value. Alex Len should be able to see over 25 minutes tonight and has been playing well when he starts. Look for Len to destroy the Nuggets inside, making him a great late-swap option tonight on DK.

Jameer Nelson was ruled out last minute with his illness and Randy Foye will be taking his place in the starting lineup. Foye is coming off a 9 point outing last night, and should be able to exceed value on his $3,500 salary. Foye is a decent late-swap option and will be under-owned due to the Nelson news coming out late.
