Richaun Holmes injured
Richaun Holmes was limping off the court holding his hamstring. If he was to miss the game tonight, it would open up more minutes for Jerami Grant. Grant makes for a decent play against the Raptors who are dealing with their own injury issues. The 76ers are already without a ton of players and Christian Wood would be the only healthy big man besides Jahlil Okafor.
As reported by: Bob Cooney on TwitterNikola Vucevic may play tonight?
After missing three straight games with a bone bruise in his knee, Nikola Vucevic will reportedly go through warm-ups to see how he feels. This leaves open the possibility that he plays tonight, although it’s still very far from a sure thing that he suits up. In the event that he can’t play, Dewayne Dedmon will draw another start at center with Aaron Gordon helping out off the bench. If Vucevic does suit up, Dedmon and Gordon aren’t DFS options.
As reported by: Mike Trudell on TwitterReggie Jackson solid PG play Wednesday
Reggie Jackson is $7,300 on DraftKings and $8,200 on FanDuel, making him too expensive to punt but just cheap enough to add other solid picks around him. The name brand out for today’s slate will definitely bring his ownership levels down, his match-up with Rondo could be ideal. Rondo is known as a good defender, but his strengths are more in the passing lanes. Rondo has been logging major minutes and will be trying to conserve energy where he can. Reggie Jackson has been playing extremely well and is 9th in the league for shot attempts at 18.7 in 32.4 minutes per game. The Kings will try to play uptempo and Jackson should feast.
Cory Joseph becomes sneaky tournament punt play w/ Carroll, Ross out
With DeMarre Carroll and Terrence Ross both out tonight against the Sixers, look for Cory Joseph to see a healthy amount of run off the bench. The Raptors are double-digit favorites against arguably the worst team in the NBA, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Dwayne Casey take it easy on his starters later in the game (on the back end of a B2B) if this one gets out of hand. Joseph towards the minimum across the industry, setting him up as a potential pivot from a guy like Ish Smith, who will undoubtedly be much more popular in tournaments.
P.J. Hairston questionable Wednesday
Hairston didn’t play the second half of the game against the T’Wolves suffering from migraines. He is listed as questionable for their tilt against the Knicks tonight. Jeremy Lamb will likely pick up the extra minutes and we could see Lin starting, moving Batum to SF. Lamb and Lin will be solid DFS sleepers against a weak defensive team. Batum will likely be focused more on defending Carmelo Anthony.
As reported by: Rick Bonnell TwitterDeMarre Carroll, Terrence Ross will not play tonight in Philly
DeMarre Carroll and Terrence Ross will both sit out of tonight’s game with the Sixers. This is probably a wise move for the Raptors, since the Sixers shouldn’t give them much trouble even on the second night of a back-to-back. As a result, James Johnson is a premier value play at SF, as he has an incredibly high ceiling given his price. Johnson should see upwards of 25 minutes and is capable of contributing in all stat categories.
As reported by: Josh Lewenberg on TwitterJaKarr Sampson, and not Richaun Holmes, expected to start Wednesday
The Sixers have listed JaKarr Sampson as a starter for tonight’s game alongside T.J. McConnell, Nik Stauskas, Jerami Grant and Jahlil Okafor. This takes Richaun Holmes out of consideration as a punt play, and Sampson himself is also not a viable DFS target tonight. Jahlil Okafor is the top target amongst the Sixers tonight, with Jerami Grant and T.J. McConnell also setting up as premium value plays.
As reported by: Keith Pompey on TwitterPatrick Beverley will play tonight after traffic incident
We’re still not sure exactly what happened with Beverley, but apparently he was stopped by police in regards to his vehicle registration and EZ-Pass tags. While this is certainly a new one, it doesn’t appear to be anything that will keep Beverley out of tonight’s game despite him missing shootaround. Terrence Jones is also expected back tonight.
As reported by: John SchuhmannIsh Smith, Ryan Anderson expected to start Wednesday
With Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis both expected to sit, the Pelicans are likely to start Ish Smith at PG and Ryan Anderson at PF. Both players are prime value targets tonight in the mid-to-low salary range, as each is expected to see upwards of 30 minutes and it would be a surprise if Smith and Anderson didn’t hit value. A blowout is a minor concern here with the Pelicans shorthanded and playing on the second leg of a back-to-back, but the playing time for these two should be safe.
As reported by: John Reid on TwitterDarren Collison, Seth Curry out on Wednesday
This sets up beautifully for another big game from Rajon Rondo. He should see upwards of 38 minutes as the only healthy PG on the roster, and has a very high floor (with a very high ceiling) which makes him a really solid target in cash games. George Karl has said he’s going to try to find a way to give Rondo a breather tonight, so don’t expect him to play the full 48 minutes again tonight. Target Rondo with confidence in any format.
As reported by: James Ham on TwitterBrook Lopez says he's playing tonight
The Nets big man said he is playing tonight unless they tell him not to. Lopez is a good mid-priced option at center tonight in a match up against Dwight Howard and the Rockets.
As reported by: Rod Boone on TwitterJrue Holiday doubtful for tonight's game
After playing a little more than 15 minutes in last night’s game, Jrue Holiday is doubtful to play tonight on the second half of a back-to-back. This is good news for those looking at Ish Smith as a value play as he’ll receive extended play if Holiday sits. Smith is an excellent value play in any format tonight, as he’s priced like a backup across the industry. He’s looked great this year and should continue to be a big part of the offense with Anthony Davis expected to sit.
As reported by: Brett Dawson on TwitterFestus Ezeli to start tonight
Interim head coach Luke Walton stated that Festus Ezeli will start tonight for the Warriors against the Grizzlies with Bogut coming off the bench. He makes for a great punt on FanDuel where he is only $4.3K and has some value at DraftKings where he is $4.8K.
As reported by: Rusty Simmons on TwitterRudy Gobert questionable for Thursday
The Jazz big man missed practice today and is questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Heat. Trevor Booker would likely be the biggest benefactor if Gobert sits.
As reported by: Utah Jazz official Twitter feedBrandan Wright out for tonight's game
Brandan Wright is out for tonight’s game against the Warriors leaving the Grizzlies even more short handed while they wait for the arrival of Mario Chalmers. JaMychal Green should see an increase in minutes as a result and could have some sneaky GPP value as he might see even more minutes if the Warriors blow out the Grizzlies as is expected.
