Ka'Deem Carey officially inactive against Lions
No surprise here, but it’s good news for the chalk play of the week, Jordan Howard. The Lions have allowed 5.1 yards per carry, which is tied for worst in the league. They also have trouble defending receiving running backs, ranking 23rd in DVOA against them. Howard does both well, and should see plenty of volume on the ground and through the air.

Jimmy Graham officially active versus Jets
There was some concern this week that Jimmy Graham (knee, back) could sit this week. Graham finally had a break out game last week against SF with nine catches, 100 yards and a TD. While Graham is officially active he’s not necessarily a strong play this week. The Jets are only allowing 11.47 PPR points per game to TE this season.

Marvin Jones and Eric Ebron both active
As expected both players will play against the Bears today. It’s an excellent spot for both of them, Chicago’s defense ranks 26th is pass defense DVOA and 28th against the tight end in particular. Stafford will likely be slinging it around the field as the Lions don’t have a great ground game with Abdullah out. Jones is leading the league in receiving yards per game and plays over 20 yards. Look for both he and Ebron to get plenty of targets today.

Melvin Gordon is likely to be the highest-owned RB across the industry. Vegas likes him plenty with an 85.5 yardage prop. That’s tied with Lamar Miller for second-highest behind Ezekiel Elliott (92.5). With the Charges possibly missing three offensive linemen, it could make sense to work in Miller or Elliott instead of Gordon. David Johnson (82.5) and Le’Veon Bell (75.5) are also just behind Gordon and both provide more in the passing game. LeGarrette Blount is also worth mentioning. He has a prop of 80.5.
As far as the value options go, Vegas likes Carlos Hyde, Jordan Howard, and Isaiah Crowell almost equally. Hyde and Howard have a 72.5 yard prop while Crowell is at 70.5.

The Ravens have officially ruled both running backs out on Sunday. Early morning reports indicated Terrance West would start and see the bulk of the workload, and now it looks his backup will be Buck Allen. Allen will be making his first appearance this season, he’s been a healthy scratch in all three games so far. Look for West to be the lead back with Allen taking on some carries and passing down work. West is in play as a GPP pivot today.

Pittsburgh has two great running backs in Bell and DeAngelo Williams, but clearly have a lack of confidence in their receivers outside of Antonio Brown and Eli Rogers. With Rogers out (turf toe), it looks like the Steelers want to exploit Bell’s versatility to get their three best skill players on the field. The game has a solid 46-point total, and some analysts are expecting a shootout. Fire Bell up with confidence, especially in full PPR formats.

Mohamed Sanu was already an extremely risky play today against the Panthers. That risk is heightened a bit after Adam Schefter reported this morning that Sanu is dealing with a separated shoulder.

Cole Beasley has impressive yardage and reception totals in the player proposition bets posted this morning. Beasley’s yardage total is 72.5 with a -125 over (53.5% implied probability) while his reception total is 6 at +100 (50% implied probability). If the over on both of those props hits, Beasley would score 13.25 on PPR sites and 10.25 on half PPR sites. That’s an impressive return for a player priced near the minimum across the industry.
Jacoby Brissett expected to start at QB for the Patriots
A league source tells ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Jacoby Brissett will start at QB for the Patriots.

He’ll face a Lions defense that is tied for the most passing touchdowns allowed this season. Last week against the Cowboys he posted 319 yards and two touchdowns while primarily targeting Kevin White and Zach Miller. White has a plus matchup this week against corner Nevin Lawson, who has one of the worst grades by Pro Football Focus (44.5). Zach Miller is in for another nice game as well, the Lions have given up the second most PPR fantasy points to tight ends this season. The Bears #1 receiver, Alshon Jeffery, will battle Darius Slay most of the day, a corner with a very high 80.8 score by PFF.

Snead is third in the league in receiving yards, averaging 113 yards per game. He’s in a great matchup today with starting slot corner Brandon Flowers out — Snead lines up in the slot on 72% of snaps. The Saints-Chargers game has the highest total of the week at 53, so plenty of points are expected. However, there is cause for concern over Drew Brees’ home/away splits. He’s notoriously worse on the road, which caused plenty of fantasy players a headache in week 2 when they lost 16-13 to the Giants in New York.

It’s probably best to fade Walker in this one. The Texan’s rank second against tight ends, per Football Outsiders. Despite his quarterback performing better on the road, the Titans have simply struggled to score points this year, limiting Walker’s touchdown potential. Tennessee’s implied point total is just 18 this week. Fortunately, the Titans schedule is pretty easy for the next five weeks (MIA, CLE, IND, JAX, and SD). It will be better to target Walker during that stretch.

Baltimore’s lone rushing touchdown this year was scored by quarterback Joe Flacco. As a team, they’re averaging 3.3 yards per carry. Clearly a shakeup had to happen and Coach Jon Harbaugh has decided to bench Justin Forsett in favor of West. It’s a nice matchup to spark their run game: the Raiders have allowed the most yards per carry (5.1), their rush defense ranks 29th in DVOA, and they’re traveling from the west coast for a 1pm game. With West expected to see a sizable workload boost, he becomes a very sneaky GPP option; especially considering this news broke late in the week and people are already on other cheap running backs like Jordan Howard and Dwayne Washington.
