KCC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire not expected to be on a snap count Sunday
KCC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire not expected to be on a snap count Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. With CEH healthy, he should split the Kansas City backfield with Williams (if available), Jerrick McKinnon, and Derrick Gore all potentially mixing in. It is difficult to trust the Chiefs backfield situation after this past weekend though, where McKinnon ended up seeing 78% of the running back snaps. If Williams is ruled out, CEH and McKinnon could see a larger share of the overall workload as they would likely split the snaps Williams would have seen. Even with the information that CEH is not expected to be on a snap count, it will be difficult to confidently play any member of the Chiefs backfield in DFS contests after what happened last weekend.
As reported by: James PalmerLAR RB Buddy Howell listed doubtful for Sunday
Buddy Howell has been listed doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Howell would have been expected to serve as running back depth if active for the Rams and his likely absence should not be DFS relevant. The Los Angeles backfield should be led by Cam Akers who continues to take more of the work as he works back from an ACL injury he suffered this past summer. Akers will play as much as he is comfortable with but Sony Michel is also expected to see some work as well. If Howell is officially ruled out and an emergency arises Jake Funk would be available behind Akers and Michel.
As reported by: Evan CloskyTBB RB Ronald Jones and WR Breshad Perriman ruled out Sunday; WR Cyril Grayson listed questionable
Ronald Jones and Breshad Perriman have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, while Cyril Grayson has been listed questionable. Right now, there is hope that Leonard Fournette will be able to make his return from IR after practicing every day this week. Fournette would likely lead the Tampa Bay backfield with Giovani Bernard and Ke’Shawn Vaughn the most likely candidates to back him up (Le’Veon Bell is also on the roster but wouldn’t be expected to see many touches, if any at all). Fournette would need to be activated to the 53-man roster by Saturday to have a chance to play this Sunday and that seems likely at this time. With Perriman ruled out, the already thin receiving corps for the Buccaneers will grow even thinner and the situation could get worse if Grayson is ultimately ruled out. Mike Evans will lead the group with Cyril Grayson (if available), Tyler Johnson, Scotty Miller, and Jaelon Darden also expected to see snaps. Evans, Rob Gronkowski, and Grayson (if cleared) will all need to be considered in DFS contests as the top pass-catchers available for Tom Brady.

Darrel Williams (toe) has been listed questionable for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Williams returned to practice today in a limited fashion after missing the last two practices with a toe injury. It is also worth noting that Clyde Edwards-Helaire was left off the injury report and should be good to go this weekend. If Williams is officially ruled out, CEH and McKinnon could see a larger share of the overall workload as they would likely split the snaps Williams would have seen. Unless we get some clear information from Andy Reid it might be best to avoid this split or spread out your exposure to multiple members of the Chiefs backfield in DFS contests this weekend.
As reported by: Kansas City ChiefsCIN WR Trent Taylor elevated from practice squad for Saturday
Trent Taylor has been elevated from the practice squad for Saturday’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor is expected to serve as receiver depth and should not be considered relevant in DFS contests at this time
As reported by: Cincinnati BengalsTEN RB Derrick Henry will be activated from IR to the 53-man roster and is expected to start Saturday
Derrick Henry will be activated from IR to the 53-man roster and is expected to start Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Henry will make his return after not playing since Week 8 of the regular season due to a foot injury. It might take a little while for Henry to get fully back into game shape so it wouldn’t be surprising for him to be somewhat limited in his return. The fact that he is expected to start is good news however and gives the expectation that he should at least see the bulk of the running back snaps for the Titans. Henry might not have his normal upside if limited, but is still one of the best running backs in football and should be considered in DFS contests.
As reported by: Dianna RussiniLAR RB Buddy Howell (hamstring) DNP Thursday
Buddy Howell (hamstring) logged a DNP Thursday ahead of the Rams matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers set for Sunday. Howell is expected to serve as running back depth if active for the Rams and his potential absence would not be DFS relevant. The Los Angeles backfield should be led by Cam Akers who continues to take more of the work as he works back from an ACL injury he suffered this past summer. Akers will play as much as he is comfortable with but Sony Michel is also expected to see some work as well. As reported by: Adam CaplanTBB RB Ronald Jones, WR Cyril Grayson, and WR Breshad Perriman DNP Thursday
TBB RB Ronald Jones, WR Cyril Grayson, and WR Breshad Perriman all logged DNPs Thursday ahead of the Buccaneers matchup against the Los Angeles Rams set for Sunday. Right now, the current belief is that Ronald Jones will be unable to play this weekend but there is hope that Leonard Fournette will be able to make his return from IR after practicing again today. Fournette would likely lead the Tampa Bay backfield with Giovani Bernard and Ke’Shawn Vaughn the most likely candidates to back him up (Le’Veon Bell is also on the roster but wouldn’t be expected to see many touches, if any at all). Fournette would need to be activated to the 53-man roster by Saturday to have a chance to play this Sunday. Grayson and Perriman are both dealing with injuries and their absences would decimate an already ravaged receiving corps. Mike Evans would lead the group with Tyler Johnson, Scotty Miller, and Jaelon Darden also available. It will be important to monitor the status of all three players listed as DNPs today as the week progresses with some potential value opening up for DFS players.
As reported by: Jenna Laine Other tagged players: Cyril Grayson, Breshad PerrimanCIN WR Stanley Morgan (hamstring) listed questionable for Saturday
Stanley Morgan (hamstring) has been listed questionable for Saturday’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Morgan is still dealing with a hamstring issue that caused him to be inactive last week but has been able to log multiple limited practices this week opening the possibility for a return. Morgan is expected to serve as receiver depth for the Bengals so his potential absence would not be DFS relevant.
As reported by: Geoff HobsonMarquez Valdes-Scantling (back) doubtful for Saturday; Randall Cobb (core) activated to 53-man roster and expected to play
Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) is doubtful for Saturday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, while Randall Cobb has been added to the active roster from IR and is expected to play. MVS was able to log a limited practice Tuesday but logged DNPs both Wednesday and Thursday making it difficult to expect him to be able to suit up this weekend. If MVS were to be officially ruled out, Allen Lazard and the likely returning Randall Cobb would play larger roles in the Green Bay passing game behind Devante Adams. Equanimeous St. Brown would also likely move up into the WR4 role. Both Lazard and Cobb would see a big enough boost to be worth considering in DFS contests this weekend.

KCC RB Darrel Williams (toe) did not practice Thursday ahead of the Chiefs matchup against the Buffalo Bills set for Sunday, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire practiced for the second straight day. Williams was held out for precautionary reasons according to HC Andy Reid as he manages a toe injury that caused him to only play 8 snaps last weekend. If CEH is back and fully healthy this weekend, he should split the Kansas City backfield with Williams (if available), Jerrick McKinnon, and Derrick Gore all potentially mixing in. It is difficult to trust the Chiefs backfield situation after this past weekend though where McKinnon ended up seeing 78% of the running back snaps. Unless we get some clear information from Andy Reid it might be best to avoid this situation or spread out your exposure to multiple members of the Chiefs backfield in DFS contests this weekend.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Packers matchup against the San Francisco 49ers this Saturday. MVS was able to log a limited practice yesterday so this downgrade in action is a little bit concerning. He could have been given a day off in order to not push him too hard but this will be something worth monitoring when the official injury report is released tomorrow. If MVS were to be ruled out, Allen Lazard and the likely returning Randall Cobb would play larger roles in the Green Bay passing game behind Devante Adams. Equanimeous St. Brown would also likely move up into the WR4 role. Both Lazard and Cobb would see a big enough boost to be worth considering in DFS contests this weekend.
