James Conner

Arizona Cardinals
12/23/21, 1:54 PM ET

ARI RB James Conner and WR Rondale Moore will be game-time decisions Saturday

James Conner and Rondale Moore will be game-time decisions Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts. If Conner were to be ruled out, Chase Edmonds would assume the lead back role and handle the bulk of the work for the Cardinals with Jonathan Ward and Eno Benjamin available to back him up. Edmonds would be considered one of the better plays on the Saturday slate due to expected volume and price. If Moore were to be ruled out Christian Kirk, A.J. Green, and Zach Ertz would see even more work in the passing game than they are already accustomed to and would be better plays. it will be important to check Moore and Edmonds status when inactives are released 90 minutes prior to to kickoff.

Dalvin Cook

Dallas Cowboys
12/23/21, 1:31 PM ET

MIN RB Dalvin Cook to be placed on COVID list; WR Dan Chisena activated from COVID list

Dalvin Cook will be placed on COVID list, while Dan Chisena has been activated from the COVID list ahead of the Vikings matchup Sunday with the Los Angeles Rams. It is believed that Cook is unvaccinated meaning he will be out for this weekend’s game with no possibility of testing out in time to play (UPDATE: HC Mike Zimmer confirmed that Cook will not play Sunday). In his absence the returning Alexander Mattison will be the primary back with Kene Nwangwu and Wayne Gallman available to back him up. Mattison has excelled when asked to fill in for Cook and even in a tougher matchup against the Rams defense he should be considered in most formats. Chisena will add to the Vikings wide receiver depth but is not expected to see enough work to be DFS relevant.

Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints
12/23/21, 12:50 PM ET

NOS QB Taysom Hill and QB Trevor Siemian to be placed on COVID list; QB Ian Book expected to start Monday

Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian will be placed on COVID list and Ian Book will now be expected to start Monday against the Miami Dolphins. Ian Book will be set to throw his first regular season NFL pass this Monday after both Hill and Siemian have entered the COVID protocols. Book is a considerable downgrade from both Hill and Siemian and all New Orleans pass-catchers will see a dip in expected production. The Saints will likely lean on their best player, Alvin Kamara, who could see a tremendous amount of touches. This game should be slow paced as the Saints will look to steal a win with defense and their rushing attack.

Taylor Heinicke

Los Angeles Chargers
12/23/21, 10:17 AM ET

WAS QB Taylor Heinicke activated from COVID list

Taylor Heinicke has been activated from the COVID list ahead of this Sunday’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Heinicke will make his return after missing one game on the COVID list in an important divisional matchup against the tough Cowboys defense. Heinicke’s return will give all Washington pass-catchers a slight boost in expected production, though Heinicke himself likely shouldn’t be considered as an option in DFS this weekend.

Melvin Gordon

Baltimore Ravens
12/22/21, 7:27 PM ET

DEN RB Melvin Gordon (thumb/hip) DNP Wednesday

Melvin Gordon (thumb/hip) logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Broncos matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. Gordon has been dealing with these injuries for a couple weeks now but was able to suit up for last game. This was likely used more as a maintanence day and Gordon should be ready to go by this weekend where he should play a large role in the offense. With no Teddy Bridgewater, the Broncos will likely lean on the run game even more than they normally do meaning more work for Gordon and Javonte Williams. Both backs can be considered at their respective price points but will limit the other’s upside. It will be important to ensure Gordon’s availability as the week progresses by checking his listing on the injury report released Friday.

Adam Thielen

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/22/21, 7:22 PM ET

MIN WR Adam Thielen returned to practice Wednesday

Adam Thielen has returned to practice Wednesday ahead of the Vikings matchup this Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Theielen seems to be on track to make his return this weekend where he should slot in as the compliment to Justin Jefferson. This will limit some of the upside enjoyed by both K.J. Osborn and Tyler Conklin in Theielen’s absence. It will be important to monitor Theielen’s practice status in the coming days but he seems to be trending in the right direction.

Donald Parham

Pittsburgh Steelers
12/22/21, 7:18 PM ET

LAC TE Donald Parham Jr. (concussion) DNP Wednesday

Donald Parham Jr. (concussion) logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Houston Texans. If Parham is unable to go, Stephen Anderson and Tre’ McKitty would back up Jared Cook. Cook can be considered in a good matchup with touchdown upside.

As reported by: Los Angeles Chargers

Marquise Goodwin

Cleveland Browns
12/22/21, 7:14 PM ET

CHI WR Marquise Goodwin returned to practice Wednesday; WR Jakeem Grant DNP

Marquise Goodwin returned to practice Wednesday, while Jakeem Grant logged a DNP ahead of the Bears matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Goodwin seems to be trending in the right direction to make his return and would slot in as the third receiver behind Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson (currently on the COVID list). If Jakeem Grant were unable to suit up the Bears would likely need to find a new return man but should be set at receiver provided they get both Goodwin and Robinson back this week. Damiere Byrd would step in and see any snaps that Grant would have seen at receiver.

Kenny Yeboah

Detroit Lions
12/22/21, 7:07 PM ET

NYJ TE Kenny Yeboah placed on COVID list

NYJ TE Kenny Yeboah has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Jets matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yeboah was expected to serve as the backup tight end for TYler Kroft but this role will likely be played by Trevon Wesco if Yeboah is unavailable this weekend. Wesco would not be expected to be DFS relevant.

Adam Trautman

Denver Broncos
12/22/21, 7:03 PM ET

NOS TE Adam Trautman placed on COVID list

Adam Trautman has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Saints Monday night matchup against the Miami Dolphins. If Trautman were unable to test out of protocols by Monday, Nick Vannett would be the primary tight end with Juwan Johnson (also in COVID protocols) likely to be available. Both would need to be considered on the showdown slate as value options with touchdown upside.

As reported by: Aaron Wilson

Josh Gordon

Tennessee Titans
12/22/21, 6:59 PM ET

KCC WR Josh Gordon activated from COVID list

Josh Gordon has been activated from the COVID list ahead of the Chiefs matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Gordon normally wouldn’t play much of a role in the Chiefs offense however there are some questions concerning Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce’s availability for this weekend. If they were to be ruled out, the Chiefs offense would be led by Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Byron Pringle, and Mecole Hardman. It will be important to monitor Kelce and Hill’s availability as we get closer to gameday.

As reported by: Aaron Wilson

J.J. Taylor

Houston Texans
12/22/21, 6:47 PM ET

NEP RB J.J. Taylor activated from COVID list

J.J. Taylor has been activated from the COVID list ahead of the Patriots matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Taylor will likely only be active if one of the other backs is unable to go this weekend but the Patriots backfield does has some question marks currently. Damien Harris is working his way back from an injury and Rhamondre Stevenson is dealing with an illness so it will be important to monitor how those situations play out.

James Conner

Arizona Cardinals
12/22/21, 6:37 PM ET

ARI RB James Conner (heel) and WR Rondale Moore (ankle) DNP Wednesday

James Conner (heel) and Rondale Moore (ankle) logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Cardinals matchup with the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. Green, and Zach Ertz would see even more work in the passing game than they are already accustomed to and would be better plays. it will be important to check Moore and Edmonds status on the injury report released tomorrow.

Austin Ekeler

Washington Commanders
12/22/21, 6:30 PM ET

LAC RB Austin Ekeler and WR Jalen Guyton placed on COVID list

Austin Ekeler and Jalen Guyton have been placed on the COVID list ahead of this Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. If Ekeler were unable to test out of protocols in time, Justin Jackson would likely lead the backfield with Josh Kelley and Larry Rountree also mixing in. Jackson would be a great value play but some of his upside would likely be limited by the time share with the other backs. Guyton was not expected to play a major role this weekend, but if he were to miss Josh Palmer could play a larger role in the passing game. Neither Ekeler nor Guyton has officially been ruled out for this weekend but their inclusion on the COVID list this late in the week is worrisome.

Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens
12/22/21, 6:12 PM ET

BAL QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) and WR Devin Duvernay (ankle) DNP Wednesday

Lamar Jackson (ankle) and Devin Duvernay (ankle) logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Ravens matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. Lamar Jackson is still dealing with an ankle injury and Tyler Huntley could be in line for another start after a phenomenal fantasy performance last weekend against the Green Bay packers. Huntley would need to be considered in most formats due to his tremendous upside and price. If Duvernay were to be ruled out, Sammy Watkins (if activated from COVID list), James Proche, and Tylan Wallace could all play a bigger role in the passing game behind Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman. It will be important to monitor Jackson’s practice status as the week progresses.
