WAS RB J.D. McKissic (concussion) DNP Thursday
WAS RB J.D. McKissic (concussion) logged a second consecutive DNP Thursday ahead of Washington’s game Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. With McKissic’s status in question, Antonio Gibson could be in line for a larger role leading the backfield with Jaret Patterson backing him up. Gibson would become a much better play and could be considered in most formats if McKissic was forced to miss. It will be important to check on McKissic’s official game designation when the injury report is released Friday.
As reported by: Nicki JhabvalaNYG QB Daniel Jones's status "in the hands of the doctors now" HC Joe Judge would go to a game-time decision with Jones if need be
Daniel Jones’s status is “in the hands of the doctors now” and HC Joe Judge would be willing to go to a game-time decision with Jones if need be. If Jones were forced to miss, Mike Glennon would likely start for the Giants with the newly signed Jake Fromm available to back him up. Glennon would be a downgrade from Jones and all Giants pass-catchers would see their expected production decrease. This could lead to a small bump for the Giants running backs as HC Joe Judge could elect to focus more on the run game. It will be important to monitor Jones’s practice status throughout the week especially on Friday when the official injury report with game designations is released though it sounds like Judge would be willing to wait all the way until kickoff to make a decision.
As reported by: Jordan RaananNOS RB Alvin Kamara won't play Thursday night per Ian Rapoport
Alvin Kamara won’t play Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys per Ian Rapoport. It seemed like Kamara was trending in the right direction after logging limited practices all week but the Saints will hold him out for at least one more game. In his absence Mark Ingram will lead the backfield and is expected to be a full-go at 100% after missing last week with a knee injury. Tony Jones and Dwayne Washington will also be available to back up Ingram, though as we have seen in the past its Ingram’s backfield when Kamara is out. Ingram can be considered as one of the top plays of the showdown slate and played in most formats due to expected volume and production.
As reported by: Ian RapoportNOS QB Taysom Hill will start Thursday
As expected, Taysom Hill will start Thursday at quarterback for the Saints when they take on the Dallas Cowboys. Hill will need to be considered in most showdown lineups due to his high rushing floor and touchdown equity. The New Orleans pass-catchers as well as the running backs could see a dip in their expected production as Hill isn’t an elite passer and will often call his own number near the goal line.
As reported by: Mike TriplettCIN WR Auden Tate, WR Michael Thomas, and RB Chris Evans all DNP Wednesday
Auden Tate, Michael Thomas, and Chris Evans all logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of their matchup this weekend with the Los Angeles Chargers. Tate, Thomas, and Evans are all not expected to play major roles on Sunday and their presence or absence should not be DFS relevant. This is a game that should be targeted by DFS players though as it features two explosive offenses and will likely be high scoring.
As reported by: Jay Morrison Other tagged players: Chris EvansLAR RB Darrell Henderson (thigh) DNP Wednesday but is expected to play Sunday
Darrell Henderson (thigh) logged a DNP Wednesday but is expected to play Sunday according to HC Sean McVay. Henderson is in line for a large workload this week against a lackluster Jacksonville Jaguars defense in a game that the Rams should be playing with the lead. If Henderson were to be limited in any way Sony Michel could see some extra carries and targets. It will be important to monitor Henderson’s practice progression this week but DFS players should feel fine firing him up as long as he is able to log a practice or two by Friday.
As reported by: Lindsey ThiryLVR TE Darren Waller DNP Wednesday
Darren Waller logged a DNP Wednesday and is not expected to be available this weekend (considered week-to-week) against the Washington Football Team. With Waller likely out, Foster Moreau is the next man up. Moreau had a successful outing last time Waller was absent catching all 6 of his targets for 60 yards and a touchdown. He will need to be considered in most formats as he comes at a discount and plays in an offense that normally relies on its tight end as its best pass catcher.
As reported by: Nicki JhabvalaRB Adrian Peterson to be signed to Seattle Seahawks practice squad according to HC Pete Carroll
Adrian Peterson will be signed to Seattle Seahawks practice squad according to HC Pete Carroll. Peterson could play this week but would need to be elevated by Saturday to be eligible. Peterson would likely serve as the number two or three back behind Alex Collins and split time with DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer (both of whom are dealing with injury). At this point it doesn’t seem likely that Peterson will offer DFS players any sort of value, especially his first week with a new team.
As reported by: Doug KyedARI QB Kyler Murray and WR DeAndre Hopkins practiced Wednesday in limited fashion
Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins both practiced Wednesday in limited fashion ahead of the Cardinals matchup with the Chicago Bears. Both Murray and Hopkins seem to be trending in the right direction to play this week after missing the last several games. Murray would instantly provide a boost to all pass-catchers as he has been one of the top quarterbacks in terms of efficiency this year. Having said that the return of his top target DeAndre Hopkins could also limit the upside enjoyed by the other Cardinals receivers. It will be important to monitor both of their statuses as the week progresses.
As reported by: Darren Urban Other tagged players: DeAndre HopkinsCHI WR Allen Robinson, WR Marquise Goodwin, RB Damien Williams, and TE Cole Kmet DNP Wednesday
Allen Robinson, Marquise Goodwin, Damien Williams, and Cole Kmet all logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of their matchup Sunday with the Arizona Cardinals. If Robinson were to miss, Darnell Mooney would once again be the top receiver for the Bears with Goodwin (also DNP today) and Damiere Byrd also available and likely to play a larger role in the offense. If Damien Williams were once again to miss Khalil herbert would remain the unquestioned number two back behind David Montgomery with Ryan Nall also available in case of an emergency. If Cole Kmet were unable to suit up this weekend, Jimmy Graham would be a good value option at tight end with Jesse James likely to back him up. It will be important to monitor the Bears practice report as the week progresses as value at multiple positions could open up.
As reported by: Chicago Bears Other tagged players: Marquise Goodwin, Damien Williams, Cole KmetBAL WR Devin Duvernay, TE Nick Boyle, and FB Patrick Ricard DNP Wednesday; WR Miles Boykin returned to practice
Devin Duvernay, Nick Boyle, and Patrick Ricard all logged DNPs Wednesday while Miles Boykin returned to practice ahead of Baltimore’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. If Duvernay were to miss, Sammy Watkins and the likely returning Miles Boykin could play a larger role in the passing attack behind Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman. If Boyle were to miss, Eric Tomlinson would be the primary backup to Mark Andrews. Both of these absences would likely have no DFS ramifications however.
As reported by: Jonas Shaffer Other tagged players: Nick Boyle, Patrick Ricard, Miles BoykinTBB WR Antonio Brown and WR Jaelon Darden DNP Wednesday
Antonio Brown and Jaelon Darden logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Buccaneers matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. It looks like it will be another couple of weeks before Brown is ready to return to join the receiving corps. Chris Godwin and Mike Evans should remain the top dogs with Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller also seeing some work. Darden is not expected to play much of a role this weekend so his absence would not be DFS relevant.
As reported by: Greg Auman Other tagged players: Jaelon DardenNOS RB Alvin Kamara officially listed questionable for Thursday
Alvin Kamara has officially been listed questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Kamara seems like he is trending in the right direction to make his return but we won’t know for sure until inactives are released tomorrow. If Kamara is able to return, there is a possibility that he could be limited allowing for Mark Ingram (who was left off the injury report today) to play a larger role than normal in the Saints backfield. If Kamara were to miss completely Ingram would be one of the top plays on the showdown slate based on expected volume and the past production he has enjoyed as the lead back for the Saints.
As reported by: New Orleans SaintsDAL WR Amari Cooper and WR Malik Turner officially listed questionable for Thursday; WR Cedrick Wilson listed out
Amari Cooper and Malik Turner officially listed questionable for Thursday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints while Cedrick Wilson has been listed out. With Wilson ruled out, Noah Brown would step into the wide receiver four role behind CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper (expected to play after being activated off COVID list this morning), and Michael Gallup. Brown won’t be considered a top play but a case could be made for him on a showdown slate as a punt option with touchdown upside.
As reported by: Michael Gehlken Other tagged players: Malik Turner, Cedrick WilsonIND TE Jack Doyle DNP Wednesday
Jack Doyle logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Colts matchup with the Houston Texans. If Doyle is unable to suit up this weekend, Mo Alie-Cox should see the bulk of the tight end snaps with Kylen Granson available to back him up. Alie-Cox would be a decent value option in a good matchup and could be considered in most formats. It will be important to monitor Doyle’s status as the week progresses as some tight end value could open up.
