SFO WR Deebo Samuel and RB Trey Sermon DNP Wednesday; RB JaMycal Hasty returned to practice

Deebo Samuel and Trey Sermon both logged DNPs Wednesday while JaMycal Hasty returned to practice ahead of the 49ers matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Samuel is expected to miss a week or two meaning Brandon Aiyuk should be the top receiver for the 49ers and will likely see a few more targets increasing his expected production. Eli Mitchell should remain the top back in the backfield with Jeff Wilson and the returning JaMycal Hasty available to back him up.

Jordan Howard

New Orleans Saints
12/01/21, 5:03 PM ET

PHI RB Jordan Howard (knee), RB Boston Scott (illness) and WR DeVonta Smith (illness) all DNP Wednesday

Jordan Howard (knee), Boston Scott (illness) and DeVonta Smith (illness) all logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Eagles matchup with the New York Jets. Howard missed last week and could be trending towards missing another week. In his absence Boston Scott saw the bulk of the carries and work in the backfield while both Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell mixed in. This could again be the case this weekend except in a better matchup against the Jets (not like last week was a poor one against the Giants however). It might be best to avoid the Eagles backfield going forward as the lead back seems to shift weekly. It will be important to monitor the status of both Scott and Smith throughout the coming days as usually illnesses this early in the week don’t affect players when Sunday comes along but it would be encouraging to see both log a practice by Friday.

D'Andre Swift

12/01/21, 4:51 PM ET

DET RB D'Andre Swift and WR KhaDarel Hodge DNP Wednesday; WR Trinity Benson returned to practice

D’Andre Swift and KhaDarel Hodge logged DNPs Wednesday while Trinity Benson returned to practice ahead of the Detroit Lions matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Swift is expected to miss a couple weeks with a shoulder injury so Jamaal Williams should be set to lead the backfield. If Williams sees the same role that Swift enjoyed he can be considered in most formats due to expected volume. KhaDarel Hodge missed practice with an illness so this is something to monitor though he is not expected to see much of a role this weekend, especially if Benson is able to make his return.. Benson will likely slot back in as the number four receiver for the Lions behind Josh Reynolds, Kalif Raymond, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Daniel Jones

Indianapolis Colts
12/01/21, 3:24 PM ET

NYG QB Daniel Jones limited Wednesday; WR Kadarius Toney, WR Sterling Shepard, WR John Ross, TE Kyle Rudolph, TE Kaden Smith, FB Cullen Gillaspia all DNP

Daniel Jones was limited in practice Wednesday while Kadarius Toney, Sterling Shepard, John Ross, Kyle Rudolph, Kaden Smith, and Cullen Gillaspia all logged DNPs ahead of the Giants matchup with the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. Jones was expected to be limited and is not expected to start this Sunday (but there is still a chance he could), Mike Glennon would draw the start. A large portion of the Giants pass-catchers are still banged up which could mean another expected heavy workload for Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton. If both Smith and Rudolph are unable to play again this weekend Evan Engram would be expected to play the large majority of snaps at tight end with Chris Myarick available to back him up. Engram would once again be a decent option due to his expected target share sans multiple receivers and tight ends. It will be important to monitor the Giants practice report throughout the week and the official injury report released on Friday with game designations as some potential value options could open up.

Melvin Gordon

Baltimore Ravens
12/01/21, 2:35 PM ET

DEN RB Melvin Gordon and TE Eric Saubert DNP Wednesday

Melvin Gordon and Eric Saubert both logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Broncos matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. If Gordon were forced to miss or be limited, Javonte Williams would become one of the top plays on the showdown slate due to expected volume and production. Mike Boone and Damarea Crockett would likely be available to back him up but would not be expected to play a major role. If Saubert were forced to miss it would likely not be considered DFS relevant even on a showdown slate as Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam are expected to see nearly all the tight end snaps for the Broncos.

Justin Fields

12/01/21, 1:20 PM ET

CHI QB Justin Fields to return to practice Wednesday; QB Andy Dalton will get the starter reps

Justin Fields is set to return to practice Wednesday while Andy Dalton will get the starter reps ahead of the Bears matchup Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. This makes sense as HC Matt Nagy said he doesn’t want to rush Fields back till he is 100%. It wouldn’t be surprising for Fields to practice in a limited fashion this week before returning in Week 14. Andy Dalton could once again start this Sunday for the Bears giving all pass-catchers a slight boost while not being a play himself. No starter has officially been announced yet so it will be important to monitor this situation as the week progresses.

JD McKissic

Washington Commanders
12/01/21, 1:16 PM ET

WAS RB J.D. McKissic (concussion) DNP Wednesday; TE Ricky Seals-Jones (hip) returned to practice

J.D. McKissic logged a DNP Wednesday while Ricky Seals-Jones returned to practice ahead of their game Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. With McKissic’s status in question, Antonio Gibson could be in line for a larger role leading the backfield with Jaret Patterson backing him up. Gibson would become a much better play and could be considered in most formats if McKissic was forced to miss. Seals-Jones seems to be trending in the right direction to make a return Sunday where he should slot back into his role backing up Logan Thomas pushing John Bates down the depth chart.

Amari Cooper

Las Vegas Raiders
12/01/21, 1:01 PM ET

DAL WR Amari Cooper (COVID) is expected to travel and play Thursday

Amari Cooper (COVID) is expected to travel and play Thursday against the New Orleans Saints. It seems as though Dak Prescott will have his full compliment of weapons back with the expected return of Cooper. Cooper’s return will limit the targets and upside of the other top two Dallas receivers (CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup) however making them weaker plays. All three receivers can be considered for the showdown slate as this could be a high-scoring game (total currently at 47.5).

Ray-Ray McCloud

New York Giants
12/01/21, 12:53 PM ET

PIT WR Ray-Ray McCloud activated from COVID list

Ray-Ray McCloud has been activated from the COVID list and is expected to play this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. McCloud should slot back in his wide receiver four role behind Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, and James Washington though he is not expected to be DFS relevant at this time.

Keelan Cole

Las Vegas Raiders
12/01/21, 12:43 PM ET

NYJ WR Keelan Cole (COVID) ruled out for Sunday; WR Corey Davis (hip) DNP on Wednesday; WR Denzel Mims activated from COVID list

Corey Davis (hip) logged a DNP on Wednesday with a hip injury and is considered day to day at this point. Denzel Mims has been activated off the COVID list while Keelan Cole has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Cole was expected to play in the wide receiver four role behind Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, and Jamison Crowder. With Cole out, Denzel Mims and Braxton Berrios could see more opportunities though neither is expected to be DFS relevant this week. Davis is still working his way back from a hip injury he suffered last week in practice. If he were unable to play, Elijah Moore and Jamison Crowder would see an uptick in expected production and become better plays. It will be important to monitor Davis’s practice participation going forward and ultimately his listing on the official injury report Friday.

Keelan Cole

Las Vegas Raiders
11/30/21, 7:12 PM ET

NYJ WR Keelan Cole placed on COVID list

Keelan Cole has been placed on the COVID list meaning his status for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles is now in question. Regardless of vaccination status Cole is likely to miss this Sunday’s game as cases of players being placed in the protocol and returning to play the same week are extremely rare. Cole was expected to play in the wide receiver four role behind Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, and Jamison Crowder. With Cole likely out, Denzel Mims and Braxton Berrios could see more opportunities though neither is expected to be DFS relevant this week.

Daniel Jones

Indianapolis Colts
11/30/21, 7:07 PM ET

NYG QB Daniel Jones (neck) status for Sunday in question, Mike Glennon now expected to start

Daniel Jones suffered a strained neck last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles and his status for this Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins is in question. If Jones were forced to miss, Mike Glennon would likely start for the Giants with the newly signed Jake Fromm available to back him up. Glennon would be a downgrade from Jones and all Giants pass-catchers would see their expected production decrease. This could lead to a small bump for the Giants running backs as HC Joe Judge could elect to focus more on the run game. It will be important to monitor Jones’s practice status throughout the week especially on Friday when the official injury report with game designations is released.

Mark Ingram

New Orleans Saints
11/30/21, 5:16 PM ET

NOS RB Mark Ingram (knee) logs full practice Tuesday; RB Alvin Kamara (knee) logs limited practice

Mark Ingram logged a full practice Tuesday while Alvin Kamara was able to log a second straight limited practice ahead of the Saints Thursday night matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Ingram stated that he is 100% and feels ready to go so he should be ready to return after missing last week. Kamara seems like he is also trending in the right direction to make his return but we won’t know for sure until the official practice report is released tomorrow with an injury designation for Kamara. If Kamara is able to return, there is a possibility that he could be limited allowing for Ingram to play a larger role than normal in the Saints backfield. If Kamara were to miss completely Ingram would be one of the top plays on the showdown slate based on expected volume and the past production he has enjoyed as the lead back for the Saints.

Cedrick Wilson

Miami Dolphins
11/30/21, 4:47 PM ET

DAL WR Cedrick Wilson (ankle) DNP Tuesday

Cedrick Wilson logged his second DNP of the week Tuesday ahead of the Cowboys matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday. It seems as though Wilson is trending in the wrong direction to be able to suit up on Thursday but we won’t know for certain until the official injury report is released tomorrow. If Wilson were to miss, Noah Brown would step into the wide receiver four role behind CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper (currently still in COVID protocol), and Michael Gallup. Brown wouldn’t be considered a top play but a case could be made for him on a showdown slate as a punt option with touchdown upside.

Danny Amendola

Houston Texans
11/30/21, 4:41 PM ET

HOU WR Danny Amendola undergoes minor knee surgery, could miss a few weeks

Danny Amendola underwent minor knee surgery on Tuesday likely to cause him to miss a few weeks. In his absence expect Nico Collins and Chris Conley to be more involved in the offense behind leading receiver Brandin Cooks. As has been the case throughout most of the season it is difficult to roster any pass-catchers on the Texans outside of Cooks and this remains the case even with the loss of Amendola.
