Alshon Jeffery Out for the Rest of the Season
The exact injury isn’t clear, but Jeffery suffered a non-contact foot injury in the Eagles last game. His season is expected to be over. This is yet another injury for a banged up Eagles WR group.
As reported by: Mike GarafoloMassive Passing Game Upside
There is plenty of opportunity for this high volume Tampa Bay passing attack in a favorable matchup indoors against the Lions. Jameis Winston continues to sling it a ton every week thanks to the fact that he almost always throws a pick-six to give the other team an early lead — which then forces Tampa Bay to the air. I’m obviously being somewhat sarcastic here, but there is also value to be had with this group given the loss of Mike Evans for the rest of the season. Chris Godwin could approach a 30+% target share, while Justin Watson will get every opportunity to produce. He’s a metric darling and certainly can’t be worse than a team that will now trust Breshad Perriman to play a ton of snaps. Perriman is not the answer. Jameis Winston got clearance with the second opinion on his inured thumb and should be good to go here. I like the idea of stacking him with Godwin and Watson here.

We have some high volume running backs in good matchups this week. I’ll highlight Chris Carson, who gets to face off against a Panthers defense that is allowing nearly 140 yards per game on the ground this year and ranks dead last in the league in DVOA against the run. Carson had been losing snaps to Rashaad Penny over the past few weeks, but that plan will likely change now that Penny is on injured reserve. Carson is an elite option in any format with the Seahawks owning an implied team total over 27 points in Week 15.

The Raiders have signed RB Rod Smith to their active roster. While Smith is unlikely to be a significant factor in the offense, this could be a sign that Josh Jacobs is not expected back this week.

The Redskins have promoted Ferguson to the active roster, although he should be the fourth option at RB and have no real fantasy value. The transaction was made in response to Derrius Guice going on injured reserve.

Guice’s season is over, as the Redskins are placing him on injured reserve. This move should boost Adrian Peterson’s carries the most of the Redskins’ RBs.

Both Andrews and Jackson were listed as limited on the Ravens’ estimated practice report Tuesday. The Ravens only had a walkthrough since they play on Thursday this week. Andrews status is an improvement from Monday, when he was listed as out. Both Andrews and Jackson seem likely to play this week.

The Bucs signed Ishmael Hyman to the active roster, likely a move made in response to Mike Evans being hurt. Evans is expected to be out for the season, although the Bucs have not officially ruled him out. Hyman will be at the bottom of the WR depth chart and unlikely to contribute offensively. Logan has a broken thumb and will finish the season with just 3 rush attempts for 10 yards and 2 catches for 13 yards.

Marvin Jones Jr.‘s season is over, as he is being placed on injured reserve by the Lions. He was hurt at the end of the game and actually played 100% of the offensive snaps last game. The Lions are likely to make another move later this week, as their down to just three active WRs: Kenny Golladay, Danny Amendola and Chris Lacy.
