Todd Gurley (knee) May Be Out Week 17.
Rams could hold Todd Gurley (knee) out of Week 17. The Rams have lost a chance for home field throu out the NFC playoffs and they might want to get Gurley 100% headed into the playoffs. The decision was probably made easier after CJ Anderson came in without much practice and put up 167 yards and 1 TD on 20 carries. It was a massive victory for the “RB’s don’t matter crowd”.
As reported by: Around The NFL TwitterChristian McCaffrey Could be Held Out in Week 17
Ron Rivera wouldn’t go far into the idea of resting McCaffrey, but admits “we need to be smart” and it could be a good time “to evaluate” younger players. McCaffrey took on such a massive role on this team, and with CJ Anderson having been released a few weeks ago, you would be hard pressed to find a suitable RB to play in DFS in his place. Perhaps Cameron Artis-Payne, but the Saints defense is shaping up as a solid play in Week 17.
As reported by: Bill Voth TwitterRashaad Penny inactive Sunday night; Chiefs to be without CB Kendall Fuller, Spencer Ware and Sammy Watkins
No real surprises with Sunday night inactives. The Chiefs won’t have Kendall Fuller, a blow to their secondary which has already proven to be leaky, especially to the big play. Russell Wilson is a strong target this evening and can be stacked with Tyler Lockett and/or Doug Baldwin. Chris Carson is also in a great spot without Penny in the lineup, as he figures to only share work with passing-down back Mike Davis. Carson is best served in games where the Seahawks are in control, and if this one ends up being as high-scoring as it’s projected to be, Carson should get in on the scoring action. Davis is a fine PPR punt play.

The New Orleans Saints offense gets a bit of a boost this weekend as Ted Ginn is on the active roster today vs The Steelers. Ginn has not played since the last week of September and his addition the Saints roster has very little impact in terms of DFS. Over the last few weeks, the team has shown the propensity to spread the ball around and the addition of Ginn back to the offense only makes it harder to narrow down second-tier options in the passing game.
As reported by: Josh KatzensteinSmith-Schuster officially active for Week 16
Smith-Schuster went to social media earlier in the week to let all of his fantasy owners know that he would be ready to go in week 16. Now officially active for today Smith-Schuster and The Steelers find themselves in a must-win game on the road vs a very dangerous Saints team. With one of the highest totals on the week, Smith-Schuster has a very beatable matchup vs a Saints secondary that has shown vulnerability in the past.
As reported by: Pittsburg Steelers TwitterJustin Davis active Sunday
Justin Davis is active Sunday, creating a three-man committee behind Todd Gurley. It’s sounding like C.J. Anderson will get the first crack at things, but he looked out of shape earlier this season in Carolina and may not get a long leash if he struggles. Davis would figure to be in front of Kelly in the pecking order, but with Davis banged up it’s certainly possible the preseason darling (Kelly) ends up getting more work. It’s tough to peg how this backfield will play out, so it’s best left for GPP darts only. The LA passing game does get a slight uptick, so consider Woods/Reynolds/Cooks/Everett slightly more appealing plays.

The early news on Sunday pointed to Todd Gurley perhaps playing this week vs The Cardinals. With Gurley not completely ready to play the team will take the safe route with their all-pro running back and lean on a three-man committee at running back on Sunday. The teams announced Justin Davis will be active today joining John Kelly and the newly signed C.J Anderson in The Rams backfield. The unclear status of this backfield makes usage harder to predict thus making this a spot reserved for GPP darts. Jared Goff and his crew of pass catchers gain some appeal in the absence of Gurley.
As reported by: Lindsey Thiry TwitterT.J. Yeldon a healthy scratch this afternoon
T.J. Yeldon is a healthy scratch this afternoon, likely paving the way for a bigger role for rookie David Williams. Leonard Fournette saw very little work after halftime last weekend and that was apparently by design according to Doug Marrone in order to get a look at Williams, so it’s possible the two end up in a similar sort of split. It’s really tough to feel confident in any of the Jaguars for DFS purposes in a lost season.

DeSean Jackson is active today for the first time in the last three games. He’ll figure to work alongside Chris Godwin opposite Mike Evans, which thins the target share for Jackson/Godwin/Humphries. It doesn’t appear that Jackson will be on any sort of strict snap count, so it’s tough to target any of the Bucs ancillary pass-catchers with confidence against a tough Dallas defense. Humphries needs volume to become an appealing DFS target, and that could be in jeopardy despite him being one of Jameis Winston’s favorite targets.

Randall Cobb is inactive today. His absence paves the way for Marquez Valdes-Scantling to take on a bigger role as well as Equanimeous St. Brown, but the Packers most appealing pass-catcher is far and away Davante Adams. The Jets were content using single coverage against DeAndre Hopkins last Saturday and if they choose to deploy a similar strategy against the Packers, expect Adams to make them pay dearly. He does have a shot at becoming the Packers all-time single-season leader in receiving yards. Jimmy Graham could also see a small spike in volume with Cobb on the shelf.
As reported by: Adam Schefter TwitterCharles Clay a healthy scratch
In somewhat of a surprise move Charles Clay is a healthy inactive in today’s game vs The Patriots. With the passing attack leaning heavily on the wideouts, Clay has been a non-factor in the gameplan for the last few weeks. That being said it’s still somewhat of a surprise to see him not active today. Chris Ivory will also not play for the Bills today and it appears that LeSean McCoy is ready to return from a one-week absence.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton is active for today’s game vs The Giants. It appears that Hilton will give it a go for the second straight week on an ankle that is less than 100 percent. Hilton and the Colts are still very alive in the wild-card race but will need a win to keep pace with both The Ravens and The Titans who won yesterday.
As reported by: Adam Schefter TwitterFalcons' WR Julio Jones officially is active
Julio Jones worked out his injured hip and ribs prior to game time and is officially active vs The Panthers. Jones leads The NFL in receiving yards and remains a threat to post a monster game in a winnable matchup vs The Panthers.
As reported by: Adam Schefter TwitterBarring a set back Todd Gurley in on track to play today
In a must-win game, Todd Gurley has been trending towards playing this week. Despite not looking at 100 percent over the last few games, Gurley is set to play in a matchup where The Rams should comfortably win. Trending towards a very low-interest level Gurley becomes a very intriguing GPP play on a week where other high priced running backs are soaking up a significant ownership level.
As reported by: Adam Schefter TwitterDeAndre Hopkins will play today
DeAndre Hopkins gave the good to go signal during warms ups today and is on track to play vs The Eagles. Hopkins will have one of the better matchups today as the Eagles have absolutely been torched by wideouts this season.
