Cam Newton (shoulder) limited in practice Wednesday, expected to play Sunday
Cam Newton was limited in practice Wednesday due to an injury in his throwing shoulder, but is expected to play Sunday against the Ravens. There is nothing to suggest Newton’s status is seriously in doubt for their week 8 matchup, where Newton will have his work cut out for him against arguably the best defense in the NFL this season.
Dalvin Cook (hamstring) doesn't practice Wednesday
Dalvin Cook didn’t practice Wednesday due to his hamstring injury, which falls in line with the earlier report that Cook is likely out Sunday night against the Saints. Look for Latavius Murray to once again lead the Vikings rushing attack in what should be a high-scoring primetime game.
Royce Freeman (ankle) does not practice Wednesday
Royce Freeman did not practice Wednesday due to his ankle injury. The injury forced an early exit from the Broncos week 7 matchup with the Cardinals, and Freeman appears truly questionable heading into Sunday’s divisional matchup with the Cheifs. If Freeman is unable to go it will mean a heavier workload than usual for Phillip Lindsey, who figures to be heavily involved in both the rushing and passing attack. Look for Devontae Booker to pick up more usage as well if Freeman is inactive, operating in a change-of-pace role as usual.
Rashard Higgins (knee) not practicing Wednesday
Rashard Higgins did not practice Wednesday due to a knee injury. If Higgins is unable to suit up this weekend it will once again lock in Jarvis Landry and David Njoku for huge target shares from QB Baker Mayfield, with Antonio Callaway, Breshad Perriman and Damion Ratley soaking up the remaining passing looks.
Jamison Crowder (ankle) not practicing Wednesday
Jamison Crowder is not practicing Wednesday for the Redskins due to an ankle injury. Crowder missed weeks 6 and 7 due to the ankle injury, and he still appears to be a ways away from returning to the field. If Crowder were to miss another game, expect Jordan Reed to see an uptick in targets, and Paul Richardson to see more looks as well assuming he is able to suit up.
Colts TE Erik Swoope (knee) not practicing Wednesday
Colts TE Erik Swoope did not practice Wednesday due to a knee injury. Jack Doyle was able to return to practice, however, and if Doyle and Eric Ebron are both active Swoope will have little to no role in the Colts offensive attack even if he is able to suit up. Keep an eye on the Colts injury reports in the coming days to get a better feel for the tight end situation, but for now it appears that Ebron will likely see the most reps at tight end against the Raiders this weekend.
Ryan Grant (ankle) not practicing Wednesday
Colts WR Ryan Grant did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury. If Grant is unable to suit up this weekend look for Chester Rodgers to continue to see looks alongside T.Y. Hilton for the Colts receiving corps. With Jack Doyle’s return looking imminent as well, it is unlikely Grant has a huge passing game role even if he is able to take the field.
John Ross (groin) not practicing Wednesday
John Ross is not practicing Wednesday due to a groin injury, and appears likely to miss another week as a result. A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd are the two primary receiving options for this Bengals passing attack, with C.J. Uzomah looking to pick up a few additional targets as well if Ross is unable to suit up.
Dalvin Cook (hamstring) not expected to play Sunday night
Dalvin Cook is not expected to play Sunday night due to his lingering hamstring issue. It appears that Latavius Murray is again in line for the bulk of the carries in what projects to be a high scoring matchup with the Saints. Though the game isn’t on the main slate, Murray figures to be a strong DFS play on slates that include Sunday Night Football.
Darren Sproles (hamstring) not practicing Wednesday
Darren Sproles is not practicing Wednesday due to his lingering hamstring injury. For now there is no reason to believe he will be good to go for this weekend’s London matchup against the Jags, making Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement likely to again be splitting carries out of the Eagles backfield. Neither of them have a particularly good matchup, however, squaring off against a stout Jaguars defense.
TE Jack Doyle (hip) practicing Wednesday; "Has a chance" to play in Week 8
Doyle last played in Week 2 and to what extent he’ll practice is still unclear but it looks like he should now return no later than Week 10 after the Colts bye. Eric Ebron has emerged as a top 10 fantasy tight end in Doyle’s absence and while his snaps shouldn’t take much of a hit with the Colts liking to run 2-TE sets, he’s likely to see a decrease in targets once Doyle is back in the fold. However, Ebron should likely have one more friendly matchup to himself against a Raiders pass defense ranked 31st in DVOA, assuming Doyle sits through the bye week.

Doug Marrone says Blake Bortles will take all the starter reps this week in practice. Seems like the Jags are dismissing the idea of moving on from Bortles. This is a winnable match-up versus the Eagles, so perhaps Bortles can get back on track this week.
As reported by: Andrew Siciliano TwitterDalvin Cook Appears Out Longer Than Originally Expected
Cook is returning from major knee surgery and has been hampered by injury all year. It seems as thought the Vikings are finally going to give him some much needed rest to recuperate for the final stretch of the season. The report says that Cook is expected to miss the next 2 games and rest through he Vikings bye week. In the meantime, Latavius Murray has been splendid in his relief role.
As reported by: ESPNBilal Powell to IR
The Jets have placed running back Bilal Powell (neck) on injured reserve. This is somewhat of a surprise. In his absence we can expect an uptick in volume from Isaiah Crowell in the near future. However Elijah McGuire will be eligible to return from injury soon and should slide into a reduced Powell role soon after.
As reported by: Rich Cimini TwitterLeonard Fournette Not Expected to Practice
Fournette not expected to practice today. This is expected as it seem Fournette will be out for a while. In the meantime, newly acquired Carlos Hyde will pick up the slack.
