Carlos Hyde to be a game-time decision Sunday
Hyde is dealing with a hip issue and is considered a game-time decision for Sunday’s game with the Cardinals. If he’s unable to go, Matt Breida would become a very strong punt play industry wide, as he’d figure to take on the majority of the work in the San Francisco backfield. The match-up with Arizona isn’t a great one, but his price coupled with the volume he’d be set to receive would put him squarely into play. We’ll continue updating Hyde’s status through the weekend.

Rex Burkhead doubtful for Week 4
Burkhead was able to get a limited practice in today so it’s a tad surprising to see them list him as doubtful given the Patriots tendency to create questions with their injury reports. With Burkhead unlikely to play, Mike Gillislee will do the heavy lifting on the ground with James White leading the way in terms of receiving output from the backfield. Danny Amendola, Stephon Gilmore and Phillip Dorsett all got their first full practice of the week in today, and all three are listed as probable.

Graham was iffy heading into Week 3 and he was able to take on 66% of the Seahawks offensive snaps, finishing with 7-72-0 on 11 targets. With Doug Baldwin questionable heading into Sunday night and Vontae Davis looming, Graham could be even more involved than usual against a vulnerable Colts defense. Paul Richardson is likely to spend the most time dealing with Davis – who may not be completely healthy yet – so Tyler Lockett makes sense as a GPP pivot if Baldwin doesn’t suit up (he makes sense as a tournament punt play either way). Graham is a top five overall play at the TE spot.

Prosise isn’t expected to play Sunday night, which was also the case yesterday. J.D. McKissic is set to take on passing down work for Seattle, but he’s still a low-floor option with Chris Carson and Thomas Rawls also lingering.

Joyner is PFFs 4th highest-graded safety out of 80 through the first three games, so his loss is going to be felt on the L.A. defense. This definitely doesn’t hurt the appeal of Ezekiel Elliott, Jason Witten, Dez Bryant or Dak Prescott.

After getting in limited practices the last few days, Brown appears set to return to the lineup against San Francisco after missing the past two games. Brown was targeted nine times in the opener and while we shouldn’t expect him to necessarily see a full complement of snaps or targets this coming weekend, his presence is enough to take Jaron Brown and J.J. Nelson off the board as potential GPP punt plays. Nelson – who is listed as questionable for Sunday – still has appeal as a big play threat, but his target share figures to drop. Larry Fitzgerald is the only trustworthy member of this passing game, and he can still be rostered confidently at under $7K on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Gordon’s status was never in much doubt, but it’s nice to go into the weekend without a question mark over his head. The San Diego passing game has a better draw than the running game – San Diego has struggled with run blocking so far this season and Philly’s defense is getting plenty of push at the line – so Gordon isn’t one of the better high-end targets at RB. Ezekiel Elliott, LeSean McCoy and Kareem Hunt are all more appealing at similar price tags. Gordon is still the TD maker in this offense and has been an integral part of the passing game, so the GPP upside remains, but look towards Keenan Allen and Tyrell Williams to a lesser extent if you’re trying to pick on the Eagles defense.

Crabtree (and teammate Amari Cooper) both have very tough draws this weekend, but it’s looking like Crabtree may not be able to take the field at all. He’s not a recommended DFS option against a very tough Broncos secondary, and given the issues the Oakland pass protection had with the Redskins, it could be another night where Carr is forced to get the ball out quickly. If he’s unable to play, Seth Roberts would pick up some extra snaps and targets, but the top target in this passing game remains Jared Cook. Jason Witten threw up a 10-97-1 line on this defense while Ezekiel Elliott couldn’t get anything going, not to mention Dez Bryant catching less than half of his 16 targets. Cook has been regularly involved thus far with no fewer than five targets in a game, and his touchdown upside spikes this weekend. Jack Del Rio wouldn’t comment much on Crabtree’s absence from Friday’s practice, so it’s still a mystery whether or not we’ll see him.

With Forte out of action this weekend, Powell will start at halfback for the Jets, although Elijah McGuire’s presence is enough to create some cause for concern even with a potentially bigger workload looming. Travaris Cadet was also signed and it’s possible he shuffles in to create even more of a log-jam, so if it looks like Powell is going to be popular against a stout Jacksonville defense, playing the fade in tournaments could pay off. Powell still offers upside at his price tag, but he’s going to need an uptick in volume to make him worthwhile, and it’s still unclear whether or not that’ll come to fruition.

We’ll know more once the Cardinals official injury report is released, but at this point it won’t be terribly surprising to see Brown out on the field this weekend. His presence would muddy the waters for both J.J. Nelson and Jaron Brown, neither of whom would be recommended targets in that scenario.

Britt is fully expected to suit up on Sunday, a week after taking the reins as the top target in the Cleveland passing attack without Corey Coleman. His practice participation has increased as the week has went on – he started as a non-participant Wednesday and was limited yesterday – so there is little doubt as to his status. Jamie Collins won’t go for Cleveland against Cincinnati, but Myles Garrett does still have a chance to find his way onto the field.

It’s looking more and more like we’ll see Reed and/or Kelley on the field this weekend. Reed sounds like he’s more likely to play on Monday night and while the draw against Kansas City isn’t ideal on paper, it’s an improved spot with Eric Berry on the shelf for the season. Zach Ertz had no real trouble with this defense back in Week 2, but the Chargers chose to more or less ignore their TEs in this match-up last weekend, finishing with a combined 2-30-0. Kelley isn’t going to be a recommended DFS option even if healthy, his presence would more or less make the entire Washington backfield untrustworthy.
