Vance McDonald placed on IR
McDonald left in the second quarter Sunday after injuring his shoulder and he won’t return this season. Garrett Celek and Blake Bell will be the 49ers tight ends down the stretch, but neither are great fantasy options. Jeremy Kerley and Quinton Patton will pick up some extra targets without McDonald available.

He should be considered doubtful for this weekend with injuries to his knee and hip. Kenneth Farrow will start if he can’t go. He’ll be a decent value option on full PPR sites.

Moncrief didn’t receive a single target Sunday before going down with a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter. Indianapolis must be concerned about his health as they promoted Street, who has one reception this season, for receiver depth. Look for T.Y. Hilton to be a target monster against the Vikings this weekend.

Earlier today Peterson said he plans on practicing this week and returning to action in Week 16. Minnesota currently has the worst running game in the league, averaging just 73.4 rushing yards per game. Peterson’s return from a serious injury probably won’t provide too much of a boost. In his limited time this season, he managed a paltry 1.6 yards per carry.

Vereen, who had just been activated from the IR, was concussed on his very first touch on Sunday. He’s questionable for Week 15 and definitely has a shot of getting through the protocol in time. If he can’t go, Rashad Jennings and Paul Perkins will split the running back work. They received nearly identical workloads against the Cowboys on Sunday night, with Jennings narrowly out-touching Perkins 17-16. New York hosts Detroit on Sunday, which is a good matchup for running backs, but it’s hard to trust either back to produce big fantasy days in their time share.

Gordon was carted off the field on Sunday after suffering a hip strain in the first quarter. While the injury looked bad, he received positive results afterwards that indicated it wasn’t serious. It’s hard to imagine he’ll be able to play in Week 15, but as Ian Rapoport points out, he’s three yards shy of 1,000 on the season and he wants to play. Kenneth Farrow will lead the Chargers’ backfield in Gordon’s absence. He had 78 yards on 22 touches after Gordon went down on Sunday, which included six receptions. He’ll have nice PPR value against Oakland’s defense that ranks 28th in rush DVOA and 25th against receiving running backs.

Green (hamstring) will give it a go this week on the practice field, although it’s doubtful he’ll play in their Week 15 game. If all goes well, he could have a good chance to play in Week 16. Assuming he can’t play against the Steelers this Sunday, Brandon LaFell, Tyler Boyd, and Tyler Eifert will continue to lead the Bengals’ passing attack. Eifert will remain Andy Dalton’s primary red zone target; he had two touchdowns against Cleveland this past weekend.

The Miami Dolphins Head Coach stated starting QB Ryan Tannehill suffered ACL and MCL sprains but avoided any tears – the best possible news for a team fighting for a Wild Card playoff spot. He will at least miss the next game and potentially the rest of the regular season. Matt Moore will start in his absence.

Eagles RB's banged up; Smallwood to miss time
The Eagles RB situation is certainly murky as Wendell Smallwood has a sprained MCL and will miss some time while Darren Sproles is currently in the concussion protocol and his status for this week is in doubt. That leaves Ryan Mathews (coming off an injury) and Kenjon Barner as the two primary RB’s for the Eagles. If Sproles is unable to play this week, it could be a big workload for Mathews (although they face the Ravens so the workload might not matter much). We’ll keep you updated as the week develops.

Thomas (foot) will not play this afternoon against Tampa Bay. His absence will provide extra targets for Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead, and Coby Fleener. The Buccaneers’ defense has been playing well recently. They’ve allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers per game over the past four weeks. Willie Snead has a better matchup than Cooks; he’ll face Vernon Hargreaves, who has a 50.9 PFF grade, and Cooks has Brent Grimes, who has an 81.5 score.

Jones gave it shot in warmups but his turf toe injury will keep him sidelined for their game with the Rams this afternoon. With Mohamed Sanu also out, Taylor Gabriel, who has caught three touchdowns in the past four weeks, will be the Falcons’ number one receiver today and should see an increased workload. Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman will also pick up some extra touches. Freeman has averaged 18.5 touches per game over the past two with Coleman back in the lineup. He could push past 20 today and is a solid option, especially in full PPR.

Turner caught 6-of-8 targets for 80 yards last week against the Bengals. Although Washington ranks 20th in pass DVOA as a team, it isn’t a great spot for Turner as he’ll matchup with Josh Norman, who has an excellent 82.6 PFF grade this season. Plus, that eight target number was a bit inflated with Jordan Matthews out. Turner will likely see a reduced workload will have a tough time being efficient with his passes.

Watkins should see an increased snap count today, as he said he was now playing without limitations. He picked up nine targets last week and could reach double-digits today against the Steelers. He matches up with Artie Burns, who has a solid 75.8 PFF grade this season. As a team Pittsburgh ranks 11th in pass DVOA, so it’ll be a tough matchup for both Watkins and Woods.

Brown (illness) will be limited to 20 snaps and isn’t in play. Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson are the two best options on their offense, per usual. Mathieu’s absence is a bump to Jarvis Landry. With a tough matchup for Miami’s running game and DeVante Parker stuck in Patrick Peterson’s coverage, Landry could pick up a ton of targets today. He’s a solid option, especially in full PPR.

Cameron Meredith and Josh Bellamy are the top two receivers for Chicago today. With Matt Barkley throwing to them, they aren’t going to be great options, especially against a pass defense that’s been playing well. Surprisingly, Detroit has allowed the third-fewest FanDuel points per game to wide receivers over the past four weeks. Chicago has the lowest implied total on the board at 17 points. Outside of Jordan Howard, who should have a huge workload today, it’s an offense to avoid.
