Sports Info Solutions: MLB DFS Advice for Wednesday, July 11th

America’s pastime and daily fantasy sports are a perfect fit with an overload of data and statistics to analyze before making your lineup selections.

Because of the amount of information available to the DFS player, it can be a bit overwhelming, so I’ve tried to help you out by recommending a number of well-priced options by using Sports Info Solutions’ “SIS Model 3”.

SIS Model 3 gives DFS players an edge when setting their lineups as it uses the most expansive and accurate wealth of baseball data to create a tested DFS algorithm. You can learn more about the development of the algorithm in the RotoGrinders Marketplace.

Pitching Option

Mike Foltynewicz (FD Price $9,000)

His 6-5 record doesn’t show how well he’s pitched. Rather you should look at his 2.37 ERA, 3.48 xFIP and 10.8 K/9. Ignore his bad game last time out against a good hitting Brewers lineup and focus on the nine previous games in which he allowed one or zero runs in eight of them.

Hitting Options

C/1B) Mitch Moreland, Boston (FD Price $3,100)

Moreland returned from a back issue and hasn’t missed any more time. He’s dominated RHP with a .380 wOBA this season and faces righty Bartolo Colon.

2B) Jedd Gyorko, St. Louis (FD Price $2,900)

Gyorko owns a 1.068 OPS and a .446 wOBA against LHP and should be a steal at this price level.

3B) Travis Shaw, Milwaukee (FD Price $3,600)

Shaw has RBIs in three straight games and seems over his wrist issue. He owns a .374 wOBA against RHP and faces Miami’s Dan Straily who allows opposing LHB a .357 wOBA.

SS) Brad Miller, Milwaukee (FD Price $2,600)

Another well-priced LHB to go against Straily, Miller has a .335 wOBA against RHP.

OF) Carlos Gonzalez (FD Price $3,600)

Gonzalez owns a .349 wOBA against RHP and faces a struggling Shelby Miller, who has yet to find his stride in three starts this season (0-3, 9.00 ERA, 1.786 WHIP).

OF) David Peralta (FD Price $3900)

Peralta is a .402 wOBA hitter versus RHP and faces righty German Marquez who has yielded a .354 wOBA to left-handers this season.

OF) Brett Gardner (FD Price $3,200)

Gardner is the Yankees outfielder you don’t hear much about, but he has a .341 wOBA against RHP. Opposing pitcher Dylan Bundy can get out RHB (.278 wOBA) but not lefties (.374 wOBA).

UTIL) Ender Inciarte, Atlanta (FD Price $3,100)

As the Braves leadoff hitter, Inciarte should see plenty of at bats tonight which is good because opposing starter Sam Gaviglio is allowing a .427 wOBA to LHB on the road.

Stacking Option

When it comes time to draft a fantasy baseball team in DFS, stacking is a widely accepted strategy. There’s a reason: it works. If you want to win big, you will need a gigantic score, and stacking makes it easier to rack up the points because the scoring of batters in a given lineup is interrelated. Batters reaching base allows the hitters down the line to drive them in, creating something of a snowball effect.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have a solid group of LHB to throw against RHP Dan Straily. We installed Shaw and Miller in the lineup and if you can find room in your budget for Christian Yelich and Eric Thames you should be ready to roll.
