J.R. Smith unlikely to play for Cleveland on Thursday
Despite practicing today, the veteran guard is unlikely to play tomorrow for Cleveland. We should get another update following their morning shootaround. If he is for some reason able to return, Kyle Korver’s value would take the biggest hit.

DeMarre Carroll unlikely to play on Wednesday
Carroll didn’t practice on Monday or Tuesday and per Raptors beat Eric Koreen, it seems unlikely that Carroll is able to take the court tonight. That’ll lead to increased court time for both Norman Powell and P.J. Tucker, although the two are going to continue to sieve value from each other while they’re both healthy. Powell looks like the better upside target, but both would become viable GPP punt play if Carroll is indeed ruled out. With both Lowry and Carroll off the floor this season, DeMar DeRozan owns an absurd 43.8% usage rate, a 7.5% bump from his seasonal mark, and is averaging 1.44 FPs per minute. Norman Powell actually slightly edges Serge Ibaka in usage – 24.7% for Powell to 24.1% for Ibaka – with the two aforementioned players off the floor.

Al Horford will play tonight for Celtics
The Celtics veteran center has missed the last two games but will take the court tonight against Golden State sending Jaylen Brown likely back to the bench. It should be a high-scoring, up-tempo game making Horford a viable play if he can approach the 30 or so minutes a night he typically averages. Amir Johnson is the player most adversely affected by Horford returning and he should be safely off of your DFS radars tonight.

Updating our previous report, Denver Head Coach Mike Malone stated that Jokic is questionable, not doubtful, to play tonight. If he is able to go, he’s always in play and faces a middle-of-the-pack Wizards defense. His return would remove Mason Plumlee as a viable DFS option and be a hit to the usage of Wilson Chandler.

At least the Spurs were kind enough to give us plenty of notice in regards to this news as their two star players have been ruled out for their game tonight for rest purposes. Looking at CourtIQ, Pau Gasol is the biggest beneficiary as he sees a huge +9.8% usage rate increase with those two off of the court. David Lee also sees a big bump with his usage increasing over five percent with those two off the court. Both players are viable options tonight.

Gallinari joins Jokic with an illness and has been downgraded to questionable for Denver tonight. If he is unable to go, Will Barton would be the biggest beneficiary as the likely starter with Gary Harris and Jamal Murray also receiving a boost in playing time and usage.

Jokic remains sidelined with an illness and does not appear as if he will play tonight for Denver. Mason Plumlee should see another healthy allotment of minutes and is in play as a DFS option tonight. Also it’s a significant boost in Wilson Chandler’s usage and he should be considered a top option if Jokic sits.

The veteran center’s run in Cleveland did not last long as the team has confirmed that he will be out the rest of this season, playoffs included, with the broken leg he recently suffered.

The Chicago star stayed at the team hotel this morning and appears to be a game-time decision for their game tonight. With Dwyane Wade looking unlikely to play, it’s more than likely that Butler will give it a go but it’s something to keep an eye on as we head to game time. If both Butler and Wade are unable to play, then Nikola Mirotic and Cameron Payne would both be viable value options on tonight’s slate due to increased roles and usage. Rajon Rondo, if he plays, could also be in play.

The Rockets forward does not look as if he will play tonight after leaving Monday’s game with a back injury. Eric Gordon will get the start if he does not play but he faces the tough defense of the Utah Jazz making him a very high-risk (with some upside) DFS option.

Wade hasn’t seen the court since March 4th and is doubtful to play tonight after missing the team shootaround this morning. That said, he does plan to warm up tonight, and with Jimmy Butler ill and possibly unable to play, it wouldn’t be the biggest shock to see Wade try and tough it out. Stay tuned for late updates – we’ll provide them as soon as they come in.

Babbitt and Tyler Johnson were both questionable yesterday so they have both been upgraded and are likely to play. James Johnson, however. remains questionable and will be a game-time decision for the Heat tonight. If he sits again, Rodney McGruder and Okaro White will likely benefit the most in terms of playing time but neither are viable DFS options.

The Magic’s starting center will miss his third consecutive game with an Achilles injury and there is no set timetable for his return to action. Bismack Biyombo will continue to start and see significant playing time and despite a significant price increase of late due to back-to-back double-double’s with Vucevic out, is a viable DFS option tonight facing the Chicago Bulls.

Hill and Johnson have officially been listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Houston Rockets due to their respective ailments, while Derrick Favors and Shelvin have both been ruled out in advance of Wednesday’s contest. Dante Exum would likely draw the start point guard once again should Hill be ruled out, but it does remain unclear who will start at power forward in Favors’ place, though Trey Lyles or Boris Diaw would be the leading candidates. Given the pace up matchup Houston, the injury news out of Utah will be one of the key situations to monitor tomorrow as we approach Wednesday’s main slate.

Alex Len will start tonight, not Tyler Ulis, as was previously reported by a Wizards beat writer
Updating a previous report, Alex Len will indeed remain in the Suns starting lineup for tonight’s game against the Washington Wizards, meaning Tyler Ulis will continue coming off the bench in a reserve role. Unfortunately, a Wizards beat writer mistakenly tweeted out an incorrect Suns starting lineup just minutes prior to the lock time of the main slate. Ultimately, the incorrect report of Ulis starting would have done very little to alter his overall fantasy projection and he still remains a viable tournament option this evening, however, it’s certainly worth noting that Suns head coach Earl Watson may be looking to give the rookie a longer leash coming off two consecutive outstanding performances despite Ulis still coming off the bench.
