Rodney Stuckey available to play Monday
Stuckey has been dealing with injuries for most of the year, but he’ll be available to play against the Thunder on Monday. He’s played in just one game since the start of the new year (14 mins against Orlando on February 1st), so it’s very unlikely he sees more than 15 minutes of court time against OKC. His presence does eat into the workloads of Monta Ellis/Aaron Brooks, but this news doesn’t have much impact on the starters.

Jahlil Okafor starting on Monday
Trade talks between the Pelicans and Sixers today involved Okafor, so it’s worth noting that he’s listed as a starter for Monday’s game with the Pistons. It doesn’t look like a trade is imminent despite earlier reports stating that the deal could possibly be finished today, although it’s not completely out of the question for something to happen as lineup lock approaches. Okafor probably isn’t worth taking a shot on given the situation surrounding him – pay up a bit more for the services of Guillermo Hernangomez (or even down to Kyle O’Quinn as a differentiation play) if you’re looking in that price range.

Building off of our last update, Sixers coach Brett Brown has stated that Covington will rejoin the starting lineup, which isn’t a surprise.

Covington has missed the Sixers past three games with a hand contusion, but is set to return tonight against the Pistons. His presence will cut into the minutes of Gerald Henderson, Nik Stauskas and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, all of whom are best left alone for DFS purposes on an eleven-game slate. As for Covington himself, he had been rolling before his injury, posting 44+ FD points in his previous two games. His rebounding numbers have picked up with Joel Embiid off the floor, as he’s racked up at least eight boards in four of his past six games. The match-up with Detroit isn’t a great one – the Pistons rank 11th or better against SGs, SFs and PFs – but Covington is still a viable tournament option given the upside he offers with Embiid out.

Reggie Bullock will not play against the Sixers tonight. He has not played over 10 minutes in his last four games and would not be a viable DFS option even if he were suiting up Monday. The Pistons use most of their starters for 30+ minutes and Ish Smith is the only bench player locked into a 20-minute role off the bench.

Caris LeVert (right knee soreness) and Quincy Acy (sprained left ankle) ruled out for Tuesday
LeVert and Acy will not play in tomorrow’s game against the Charlotte Hornets due to their respective ailments. This will be the second consecutive game LeVert has missed with a sore right knee, and in his absence, Sean Kilpatrick played nearly 32 minutes off the bench in Sunday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors. Expect Kilpatrick, Bojan Bogdanovic, and even Joe Harris to continue seeing boosts in playing time with the first and second units sans LeVert, though none of the aforementioned Brooklyn wing players offer a safe enough floor for cash games given the Nets fickle rotation. With that said, Kilpatrick and Bogdanovic should still provide the highest upside for tournaments if taking that particular route on Tuesday.

The Lakers will be using Timofey Mozgov off the bench tonight against the Knicks. Tarik Black will stay in the starting lineup but moves over to play C with Julius Randle playing. Considering the Lakers are healthy once again, Black is not considered an elite option at an extremely deep position today. Randle is also risky considering he is returning from a battle with pneumonia. Brandon Ingram, D’Angelo Russell, and Nick Young round out the starting five for the Lakers.

Turner will play in tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after previously being listed as questionable on the Pacers’ injury report due to an illness. The Pacers have already ruled out Thaddeus Young, meaning Lavoy Allen will draw a second consecutive start at power forward. Allen played 32 minutes in his previous start against Detroit, but it would be difficult to foresee him seeing similar run against the Thunder in a game that could potentially go small with Paul George playing some power forward against Domantas Sabonis. With that said, Allen still remains in play given his price tag, but he could make for an interesting ownership fade in tournaments hoping he is unable to replicate his fantasy output from the prior outing.

Rose will play and start in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, as expected, after being forced to miss the Knicks’ previous four games with a sprained left ankle. Rose will be joined in the starting lineup by Kyle O’Quinn, who will be replacing the injured Joakim Noah at center. His return also sends Brandon Jennings back to the bench to resume his reserve role and team up with Guillermo Hernangomez, who Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek believes has better chemistry with Jennings and is the reason for starting O’Quinn ahead of Hernangomez this evening. Unfortunately, neither big man is safe enough for cash games considering Hornacek’s fickle frontcourt rotation, but both have immense upside if given the minutes and opportunity, making them ideal tournament options.

Updating a previous report, Ingram has been confirmed as the starter in place of Deng. Ingram is expected to remain in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future and we’d expect his salary to rise accordingly. The Knicks rank 23rd in defensive efficiency and Carmelo Anthony owns a -1.73 DPRM, meaning there is some potential upside for Ingram tonight. Expect him to play 30+ minutes and the only thing that could keep him from exceeding value will be foul trouble. Since we can’t project foul trouble, Ingram should be considered an elite play in all formats.

David West and Zaza Pachulia have been out of the lineup for the Warriors and are expected to be absent again on Wednesday against the Bulls. JaVale McGee has started in place of Pachulia but has yet to play over 20 minutes in his starts. He’ll continue to be a low-upside option that produces well enough to hit his low salary-based floor. Since West has been coming off the bench this season, his absence has been mitigated by an increase in playing time for Andre Iguodala. Iggy is averaging about 29 minutes in his last five games and continues to provide serviceable lines. He’s not going a strong upside tournament option but the floor looks safe.

The youth movement looks to be starting for the Lakers and Luol Deng will likely come off the bench so that Brandon Ingram can start against the Knicks tonight. Ingram has only played under 30 minutes in 2 of his 14 starts this season so we should expect him to play 30+ minutes tonight. Due to the minutes, Ingram has a high floor and should be able to exceed value on this slate. He sits under $4k on both major sites and scored 23 DKFP in 32 minutes against the Celtics on Friday. Look for another update regarding the Lakers before lineups lock considering they play in New York.

After being a late scratch and shocking (and hurting) a majority of DFS players we at least have some indication today that Butler’s playing status is in jeopardy. It’s a situation to keep a close eye on and if you have any risk aversion he’s a player to avoid. Michael Carter-Williams would be an excellent value option if Butler can’t go and Dwyane Wade would get a bump in usage.

Kenneth Faried downgraded to questionable (personal reasons) for Nuggets tonight
Faried was downgraded to questionable for personal reasons – never a good sign heading into a game. It remains to be seen what will happen but it’s a situation we’ll have to keep a close eye on. Darrell Arthur and Juancho Hernangomez would benefit the most if Faried can’t go. Jamal Murray is probable and expected to play for Denver tonight – he should get substantial run with Emmanuel Mudiay looking as if he will not play.

Originally listed as questionable, the Nuggets point guard has been downgraded which is a strong sign that he will sit out tonight’s game against the Mavericks. Jameer Nelson would be a excellent DFS option if this happens – he thrived in that role when Mudiay was out recently. Danilo Gallinari remains out for Denver.
