DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Patterson questionable for Raptors tonight
The update comes from the game notes on nba.com via a Raptors beat writer so it’s hard to put too much weight into this designation for the two Raptors players. DeRozan has missed all but one game in the team’s last eight and his status is shaky at best for tonight. He did manage to practice in a limited fashion on Saturday so he should be nearing a return soon. We’ll continue to keep you updated on his and Patterson’s status heading into tonight. Norman Powell and Terrence Ross would continue to benefit the most if DeRozan sits but Powell’s recently inflated price tag makes it hard to roster him now.

Thabo Sefolosha OUT for Hawks tonight
He’s missed the past four games so this isn’t overly shocking news and will give Tim Hardaway Jr. another start. Hardaway has performed well in his absence and is a viable DFS option tonight.

Randle missed Friday’s game and only played sparsely the game before that. After a few days off, Lakers Head Coach Luke Walton stated he would play and start tonight but that they would monitor him throughout. Julius Randle (illness) will start on Monday vs. the Knicks. He’s a risky DFS option given his status and his return is a hit to any value Larry Nance or Tarik Black might have had.

Okafor missed the 76ers game on Saturday to soreness in his knee but will play today after practicing on Sunday. With Joel Embiid out, him and Nerlens Noel will split time at center. Neither are particularly attractive options squaring off against Andre Drummond and the Pistons.

Turner missed the team shootaround due to illness and is considered questionable for their game tonight against Oklahoma City. Al Jefferson would be the biggest beneficiary if he can’t go and would be a viable DFS option if he’d see anywhere near 25+ minutes. Kevin Seraphin would also get a boost and would also be in consideration, especially with Thad Young already ruled out.

Young will sit out his second straight game with swelling in his wrist and will be re-evaluated by the team in a few days. Lavoy Allen will likely get the start again and he’ll be a highly-owned value option after putting up a double-double last game out.

The Mavericks PG is still battling a toe injury and is listed as doubtful for their game against the Denver Nuggets. J.J. Barea and Andrew Bogut are already ruled out. If Williams can’t go it’ll be more picnic baskets for all as Yogi Ferrell will be in a great spot against a Denver team that is 29th in PG DvP. While his price has gone up that should only drive his ownership down which makes him a viable DFS target.

Mudiay has officially been listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Dallas Mavericks with lower back pain that had recently forced him to miss five games and be limited to just over 21 minutes per contest off the bench in the three games since returning to the lineup. Nelson will likely remain in the starting lineup regardless of Mudiay’s status, though his cash game viability will certainly increase exponentially if Mudiay is ruled out. Additionally, Jamal Murray has been listed as probable for Monday with a sore right groin, but the Nuggets are one of the most tedious teams in the NBA when it comes to their injury report, so we can fully expect Murray to play.

Joakim Noah (hamstring) ruled out for Monday; Derrick Rose (ankle) likely to play
Noah will not play in tomorrow’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after sustaining an injury to his left hamstring in Saturday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his absence, Kyle O’Quinn started the second half and is the leading candidate to draw the start at center if the Knicks decide to go big in the frontcourt. However, Guillermo Hernangomez will also firmly be in play regardless of starting status. It’s also certainly possible that the Knicks could go “small” by sliding Kristaps Porzingis over to center and inserting Mindaugas Kuzminskas at power forward, hurting both the viability of O’Quinn and Hernangomez in all formats. The Knicks starting lineup and rotation will be a key situation to monitor for Monday’s slate given their pristine matchup with the fast-paced, inefficient Lakers defense.

Abrines will be available to play off the bench in today’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers after previously being listed as questionable on the Thunder’s injury report with back spasms that had forced him to miss the past three games. His return to the lineup does very little to affect the Thunder rotation, as Abrines will likely just siphon minutes away from Anthony Morrow, leaving the remaining rotation regulars largely unaffected. Additionally, Abrines himself is not a viable daily fantasy option on Sunday’s slate.

Pierce will be inserted into the Clippers starting lineup for today’s game against the Boston Celtics, which is expected to be Pierce’s final game of his career at the TD Garden in Boston. It’s difficult to accurately project how much playing time Pierce will actually accumulate, but it likely won’t be much. Pierce will likely replace Raymond Felton in the starting unit, but Felton’s “demotion” to the bench does not decimate his fantasy value in any way, as he should still see his normal compliment of minutes off the bench. This lineup change is just ceremonial, classy move by Clippers head coach Doc Rivers and doesn’t need to be analyzed from a daily fantasy perspective considering it should not change much about the Clippers’ rotation this afternoon.

Bradley will not play in today’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers after previously being listed as doubtful on the Celtics’ injury report with a sore right Achilles that has now forced him to miss 14 of the last 15 games. Jaylen Brown will remain in the starting lineup at shooting guard once again and could be worth a look in tournaments, but he is still giving way to Marcus Smart down the stretch, increasing his already high volatility. According to our CourtIQ tool, Isaiah Thomas has a 2.3 % usage rate differential (38.0%) with Bradley off the court this season. Clearly, with Bradley unavailable, Thomas is just further cemented as an elite option in an exploitable matchup with the Clippers backcourt defense sans Chris Paul, but the inflated price tag will lower his potential ceiling.

Patterson will not play in today’s game against the Brooklyn Nets due to a left knee contusion he apparently sustained Friday’s loss to the Orlando Magic. In his absence, Pascal Siakam will be inserted into the Raptors starting lineup at power forward. With DeMar DeRozan also unavailable, Norman Powell will remain in the starting lineup at shooting guard for the fourth consecutive contest, which immediately vaults him into elite play territory on FanDuel, where his price inexplicably went down in a pristine matchup with Brooklyn. In addition, Powell has averaged just over 35 minutes per game in the six games DeRozan has been sidelined with this same ankle issue, providing him with a relatively safe floor and massive ceiling at $4.8K if this game remains competitive. Other than Powell, the primary player to target on Toronto is Kyle Lowry, as he sees a positive 3.0% usage rate differential (30.3%) with DeRozan and Patterson off the court this season and will need to shoulder the offensive load for this Raptors squad this afternoon. With that said, Lowry is battling an illness and does carry a bit more risk than usual, but ultimately the matchup and opportunity outweigh any potential negatives when considering him for all daily fantasy formats on Sunday.

LeVert will not play in today’s game against the Toronto Raptors due to a sore right knee. LeVert played a career-high 30 minutes against the Indiana Pacers on Friday, but the Nets have decided to hold him out of Sunday’s contest as a precaution after he experienced some minor knee soreness following the game. In LeVert’s absence, expect Bojan Bogdanovic, Sean Kilpatrick, and Joe Harris to see a boost in playing time with the first and second units, though none of the aforementioned Brooklyn wing players offer a safe enough floor for cash games. With that said, Bogdanovic and Kilpatrick should provide the highest upside for tournaments if taking that particular route.
