Mike Muscala (ankle) ruled out for Wednesday
Muscala will not play in tomorrow’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to a left ankle injury that forced him to miss Monday’s win over the New York Knicks. It remains to be seen how the backup center minutes will be distributed behind Dwight Howard, who rested on Monday, though Kris Humphries seems to be the odds on favorite considering he saw more minutes than Mike Scott in the previous game sans Muscala and Howard.

Evan Fournier (foot) and Bismack Biyombo (knee) questionable for Wednesday
Evan Fournier missed Monday’s game due to the injury and is being listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans. Jodie Meeks started in his place and made salary-based expectations in 33 minutes. If Meeks starts against the Pelicans, he should be able to return value once again. Bismack Biyombo is listed as questionable the Magic are hopeful he can play with a knee contusion. We should have another update after the Magic’s shootaround tomorrow.

Jeremy Lamb has missed the past two games due to a foot injury and will not play against the Blazers on Wednesday. His absence led to Nicolas Batum playing 37 minutes and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist playing the second most minutes he’s played all season at 35:11. Marco Belinelli did not crack18 minutes and is a low-end option with Batum and MKG playing extended minutes. Batum will face his former team for the third time since being traded from Portland. Last season he played well against them at home and struggled in Portland. This game is being held in the friendly confines of Charlotte, so Batum should be considered an elite play at the position with Lamb already ruled out.

Of course an Anthony Davis injury post includes two ailments. The Brow left Monday’s game and wasn’t able to return to the floor, which allowed Terrence Jones to see increased run off the bench. If Davis is unable to suit up tomorrow, Jones will become one of the premier plays on the slate across all formats. Tyreke Evans also stepped up in a big way in the game that Davis missed against the Nets back on the 12th, and he’d figure to take on a bigger offensive responsibility as well. A home draw with the Magic will bode well for both Jones and Evans. We’ll update this situation again after tomorrow’s shootaround.

Jordan Clarkson, Tarik Black participating in shootaround, likely to take the court Tuesday
The DEN/LAL tilt has a total of 227 with a one-point spread, so there should be plenty of fantasy goodness to be had here. Clarkson’s absence would have made D’Angelo Russell and Lou Williams more intriguing mid-range/value targets, but his presence does eat into the minutes load of both players to a degree. Williams becomes a tougher sell now that he’ll likely be held to 20-23 minutes of court time, but Russell should still see his normal allotment against a Denver defense that ranks 2nd to last against opposing PGs. Clarkson himself isn’t a recommended DFS target, but he does have some deep-GPP appeal on a short slate, namely on FanDuel where his price has fallen to $4,200, it’s just a shame he’s PG eligible instead of being utilized as a SG. Black should see his typical 13-18 minutes of run off the bench, but he’s not a DFS option unless we see some injuries occur in the front-court. The Nuggets rank 5th in pace on the year and second to last in defensive efficiency, while the Lakers rank 6th in pace and dead last in defensive efficiency.

Nerlens Noel did not play last night against the Bucks due to an ankle injury but is expected to play on Wednesday against the Raptors. Noel will come off the bench and split time with Jahlil Okafor and Dario Saric, making him a tournament option that should see about 20 minutes. His salary is still inflated and he’s not reliable since the Sixers have so many big men active.

T.J. McConnell was seen sporting a split in practice today and is officially listed by the team as doubtful. He was hopeful to play but said he would leave it in the hands of the team. Sergio Rodriguez will likely garner another start and should be a strong value option since he played 32 minutes last night. Joel Embiid (illness) and Jahlil Okafor (soreness) were both unable to participate in practice but are expected to play on Wednesday. Gerald Henderson is also listed as probable.

Danilo Gallinari and Will Barton are both dealing with minor issues and expected to play tonight. If anything changes regarding their status we’ll make sure to send out another update. Both players are viable options in all formats against the Lakers.

Darrell Arthur will not play against the Lakers tonight and Kenneth Faried has started at PF the last two games. Expect that to continue tonight against the Lakers. Gary Harris injured his ankle last night and is listed as doubtful for tonight’s game. Jameer Nelson or Will Barton could start in place of Harris but no official update has been given yet by the team.

Ryan Anderson is not expected to play tonight against the Heat due to an illness. The replacement starter has not been named at this time so look for another update from the Rockets later in the day. James Harden and Eric Gordon see the biggest bump in usage with Anderson off the court.

Nikola Mirotic will play against the Mavs tonight after missing four games due to an illness. Mirotic lost 8 lbs due to the illness and likely lost his conditioning for the game. He was playing well before the illness but now will simply be a GPP option against the Mavs. Mirotic ownership should be low since he’s missed some time but his minutes will likely stay in the 22-24 range tonight. Bobby Portis was a low-end DFS option when Mirotic was out but will lose all viability with Mirotic returning.

Willie Reed is expected to play against the Rockets tonight but is not a viable DFS option with Hassan Whiteside healthy. Reed rarely plays 20 minutes when Whiteside is healthy and would need for the starting big man to get into foul trouble to pave the way for a minutes bump. Since we can’t project foul trouble, Reed should be avoided in his contest.

Clint Capela is expected to start tonight against the Miami Heat. He does not have a minutes restriction but is averaging about 24.5 minutes on the season. We can expect him to play about that much if he can stay out of foul trouble against Hassan Whiteside. Montrezl Harrell and Nene will also see some time and the rotation will be based on matchups. Nene could play some more minutes than Harrell due to his size but no other updates have been provided by the team at this time.

Grant will be inserted into the starting lineup for tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers in place of the injured Steven Adams. This is a relatively surprising move by Thunder head coach Billy Donovan and it honestly makes almost zero sense. However, despite the starting nod, Grant should be expected to be a starter in name only and will likely see approximately his normal allotment of minutes. Enes Kanter should still remain the top target in the Oklahoma City front court, as he should play extended minutes off the bench. Otherwise, it would be difficult to imagine the Thunder not getting completely dominated on the glass by DeAndre Jordan.

Wesley Johnson (personal) ruled out tonight
Johnson will not play in tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to the birth of his child. Johnson is not a major factor in the Clippers’ rotation, but his allotment of minutes will likely be disbursed among Brandon Bass, Raymond Felton, and Alan Anderson. Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned players will see enough of a minutes boost to warrant daily fantasy consideration.
