Ian Mahinmi (knee) ruled out for tonight
Mahinmi will not play in tonight’s game against the Sacramento with soreness in his surgically repaired right knee after playing 14 minutes in his season debut Saturday. Jason Smith and Andrew Nicholson may see a few extra minutes but not enough to make them fantasy viable. If anything, Mahinmi’s absence just further solidifies the playing time of Marcin Gortat, assuming he can stay out of foul trouble against DeMarcus Cousins.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (ankle) listed as questionable for Tuesday
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has missed the past two games due to an ankle injury. He was not much of a fantasy option outside of the occasional outburst. Sean Kilpatrick has started the last two games in his place and exceeded his projected floor both times on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Kilpatrick was playing well earlier this season when he was not asked to be the PG. With Isaiah Whitehead running the show, Kilpatrick is able to get in spots that he likes. Expect him to start again and play 30 minutes against the Clippers tomorrow. He’s a risky option against a strong defensive team but can exceed expecations if his salary stays low.

Julius Randle was once again a participant in practice but was not able to practice in full. Randle is traveling with the team for their current road trip and Luke Walton is hopeful that their starting PF will play soon. Thomas Robinson started in place of Randle last night and played 15 minutes. Robinson has exceeded value in consecutive games and should be looked at as a viable option regardless if he starts or not. Luke Walton has been known to play the matchups and will likely start Robinson again vs a the big frontcourt of the Pelicans. Look for another update regarding this situation tomorrow.

Lance Thomas will continue to be out for the 8th consecutive game. Carmelo Anthony has seen a bump in minutes due to Thomas’ absence. Carmelo should be expected to play 34-38 minutes again tonight against the Thunder. Anthony has alternated hot and cold games over the last week but should be considered a strong tournament option at home with one of the top totals of the day. Kristaps Porzingis has also stepped up into more minutes since Thomas has been out and has been averaging 41.07 DKFP over his last 7 games. Porzingis is cheaper than Anthony and is the safer cash game option. Both have similar upsides but Anthony seems to have the better matchup based on DvP.

Jeff Green missed last night’s game due to a back injury and got the day off today. Aaron Gordon started in his place and was not able to make an impact. Gordon played 31 minutes and only had 16.5 DKFP. He was 0/12 from the field, so it was not for a lack of trying. If Green is out again on Tuesday, expect Gordon to start in his place. Gordon will be a risky option due to the fact that the Magic are facing the Spurs in San Antonio. Due to all their big man depth, Gordon is playing at SF, when he was at PF last season. The experiment is not going so well and we should keep our expectations in check for Gordon.

Draymond Green was able to go through shootaround today and is expected to play against the Hawks tonight. Green is a solid play that has been producing cash game value all season long. He does not have much tournament upside due to all the usage going to Curry, Durant, and Thompson. Expect Draymond to resume his normal allotment of minutes and if he is limited at all, Andre Iguodala or David West will likely see a slight bump in their time.

Zach Randolph continues to be out and JaMychal Green will continue to see heavy minutes. Green has seen 32+ minutes in three straight games and should be considered an elite punt option against the Hornets tonight. His salary has spiked to a season-high $5k on DraftKings but sits under $5k on FanDuel. He has double-double potential and has scored 10 or more points in five straight games. The Grizzlies are really banged up right now and will continue to rely on Green on the interior. Marc Gasol also gets a slight bump due to Randolph being out but he was already an elite option to begin with.

Willie Reed and Wayne Ellington are both expected to play tonight for the Heat. Reed has missed the past four games while Ellington will be making his season debut. Reed is a viable punt option tonight that would become an elite play if Hassan Whiteside were to sit. Ellington did well in preseason when he was starting but is not cash game viable until we see if he is starting or not tonight.

Tyler Johnson and Dion Waiters will not play tonight against the Celtics. Josh Richardson will continue to start on the perimeter and it’s possible the James Johnson will start due to his recent strong play. Since Goran Dragic has not been confirmed in the lineup, we can’t say for sure that Rodney McGruder will start again. It’s very likely that he will, but we do not have an official source from the team stating it. Hassan Whiteside is dealing with a knee injury and is being listed as questionable. If Whiteside misses, we can expect Willie Reed to start. Stay tuned for more Miami Heat updates.

Horford is being given the day off after his wife gave birth to a baby yesterday. Celtics Head Coach Brad Stevens stated he’ll be back and good to go for Tuesday’s practice. It’s a bump to the value of Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Zeller, both are value options tonight.

Thomas Robinson starting for injured Julius Randle tonight
Robinson will start at power forward in tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, sending Brandon Ingram back to the bench to resume his role with the second unit. Randle has already been ruled out with a hip pointer that has kept him sidelined for the Lakers previous two games. Nick Young will be reinserted in the starting lineup in his return from a toe injury, sending Jordan Clarkson back to the bench to resume his reserve role as well. Despite Robinson drawing the start, we should expect the Lakers second unit to soak up a majority of the playing time in Randle and Russell’s absence. The Lakers starting five of Jose Calderon, Nick Young, Luol Deng, Thomas Robinson, and Timofey Mozgov are really just starters in name only in order for Lakers coach Luke Walton to keep the second unit intact.

Lakers coach Luke Walton told reporters that he is still unsure who will start at power forward this evening, though Brandon Ingram is the leading candidate after drawing the start in their last two games. Nick Young will be reinserted in the starting lineup in his return from a toe injury, sending Jordan Clarkson back to the bench to resume his reserve role. Larry Nance Jr. has also been cleared to play, as expected, and is a candidate to start at power forward if Ingram does not. Either way, Nance Jr. and Ingram are certainly in consideration as value options on the two-game late slate.

Williams will play in tonight’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans and will be be inserted in the starting lineup. Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle told reporters that he expects Williams to play but is unsure about a minutes restriction for the point guard. Williams can easily be avoided in his return this evening. With Dirk Nowitzki ruled out, Dorian Finney-Smith will draw the start at small forward once again. Harrison Barnes does see a slight uptick in usage at the power forward position with Dirk off the court, as he owns a 30.8% usage rate that is 2.1% higher than his season average. Barnes is a high-floor, moderate-ceiling option in this plus matchup with the Pelicans defense.

In a surprise move, Magic coach Frank Vogel has decided to start Augustin and Biyombo over Payton and Vucevic in tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Both Augustin and Biyombo are worth a shot in tournaments in the off chance they see extended run in this contest, though Biyombo is certainly the safer of the two, as his role has been secure even off the bench. Aaron Gordon will likely draw the start at small forward in place of the injured Jeff Green, while Mario Hezonja could find his way into the Magic rotation as well. However, C.J. Watson (questionable) would need to be ruled out in order for Hezonja to secure a solid minute workload. Surprisingly, Hezonja has been the biggest beneficiary with Green off the court this season, as he owns a 33.5% usage rate that is 4.7% higher than his season average. The sample size isn’t enormous, but Hezonja could end up being a sneaky tournament punt this evening, if Watson is ultimately ruled out.
