Darrell Arthur has been upgraded to questionable for tonight
According to coach Michael Malone, Arthur went through shootaround and could be available to play tonight versus Portland. Arthur had previously been ruled out after Friday’s practice as he recovers from offseason left knee surgery. In Arthur’s absence, Kenneth Faried played 14 of his 28 minutes at center, and Nikola Jokic was limited to just 21 minutes with early foul trouble.The rotation of Jokic, Faried, and Jusuf Nurkic will likely still split the lions’ share of the power forward and center minutes regardless of Arthur’s status.

Gary Harris (groin) ruled out for tonight
Harris has been ruled out of tonight’s game versus Portland. Will Barton is likely to draw the start at shooting guard for the second consecutive game. Contrary to popular opinion, Barton has actually performed relatively well when thrust into the Nuggets’ starting lineup. In fact, Barton averaged 30.9 DraftKings points and 29.1 FanDuel points per game, in the six games Harris missed last season, which would easily pay off his salary on both major sites tonight.

Lopez will be rested for the second leg of a back-to-back tonight versus Milwaukee. Luis Scola, who started the second half of the Nets’ season opener over Lopez, or Justin Hamilton will likely start in place of Lopez. Regardless of who draws the start, our primary interest should lie in Hamilton, as he is already averaging 27.0 MPG with Lopez active. We can only expect his minute totals to increase in this evening’s contest.

Baldwin is officially listed as questionable with a sore knee, but he confirmed with reporters that he will be good to go for tonight’s matchup with New York. With Tony Allen also questionable, and Mike Conley and Marc Gasol on tight minute restrictions heading into the weekend’s back-to-back set, Andrew Harrison will likely start at shooting guard if Allen is ruled out. Harrison played 38 minutes in the season opener, to lead the Grizzlies, but was largely ineffective. It’s unclear if Baldwin will also carry a minute restriction, but it will be difficult to fade Baldwin in cash at his price around the industry if there’s no reported minutes restriction before lock and Allen is indeed ruled out for a second consecutive game, as we expect.

With Nowitzki (illness) ruled out, J.J. Barea will start. Wesley Matthews and Harrison Barnes will slide over to small forward and power forward respectively. If playing on a late swap site or building lineups for the late slate, Barnes is quickly becoming an elite option in all formats at the small forward position.

Calderon will not play in tonight’s road matchup against the Utah Jazz. Calderon was able to practice yesterday, but apparently didn’t make enough progress to be active this evening. However, he believes he will be able to make his season debut on Sunday against Oklahoma City.

Baldwin has been added to the Grizzlies injury report and is now considered questionable for tomorrow’s game against New York. If Baldwin is unable to go, Andrew Harrison will likely remain the starting shooting guard with Vince Carter, Troy Williams, and Troy Daniels splitting the rest of the backcourt minutes. Carter played 28 minutes in the Grizzlies’ season opener, while Williams and Daniels did not play as coach’s decisions. This is a situation to monitor closely, as Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are already on a minute restriction so there could be plenty of minutes and added usage to go around.

Boris Diaw is expected to continue as the starter and Favors will be coming off the bench. This makes Trey Lyles the odd man out and should not be used in any GPPs. Favors is also a poor GPP option and Diaw will likely not see more than 22 minutes. Avoid this situation if you can.

Dirk Nowitzki (illness) ruled out
Nowitzki missed shootaround Friday morning with an illness, and it was apparently severe enough to rule him out entirely of tonight’s matchup with Houston. Justin Anderson or Quincy Acy will likely draw the start, but Harrison Barnes should also see extended minutes at the power forward position. Most of the beneficiaries with Nowitzki off the court are no longer on the roster, but Dwight Powell will likely see an increase in minutes at the five with the Mavericks forced to go small against the Rockets’ uptempo style of play.

Brooks was added to the inactive list for tonight’s game against Brooklyn with a sore right knee. He was active for the Pacers’ season opener, but never actually saw the court. Rodney Stuckey will continue to serve as the backup combo guard with Monta Ellis acting as the primary ball handler when Jeff Teague sits. This a slight bump to Ellis’ fantasy value this evening, as he will have the ball in his hands more often.

Tony Snell is expected to make his Bucks debut on Saturday against the Nets. Brooklyn will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back. He is priced at $3.4k on DraftKings and is a viable option at both guard and forward spots. He does not have much upside but could use this game against the lowly Bucks to establish him self as the starting SG.

Kaminsky will miss his second straight game with a foot injury. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist seemed to benefit the most from Kaminsky’s absence, sliding over to the power forward position at times, while Marvin Williams also saw extended run with the lack of frontcourt depth. Kidd-Gilchrist and Williams could provide some value on this slate, but they will most likely be more owned than they should be in this difficult matchup with a stout Miami squad.

Mike Scott and Tiago Splitter will not play on Saturday due to their injuries. They were not viable options to begin with and Mike Muscala will be the main backup big man. Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap should see over 30 minutes again on Saturday and are the elite options in the Atlanta frontcourt.

Derrick Favors expected to play tonight; on minutes limit
After missing the Jazz season opened, Favors is expected to return for the Jazz tonight when they host the Lakers. He’ll be on a minutes limitation, however, removing him from DFS consideration. It also removes Trey Lyles from consideration somewhat as a value option as this will cut into his minutes.
