Taj Gibson (rib) now ruled out for Saturday

According to a Bulls beat reporter, Taj Gibson will not be playing against the Pistons. Gibson is still on the active roster but has been ruled out by multiple sources. Bobby Portis will start regardless of Gibson’s status.

Bobby Portis starting with Taj Gibson active but unlikely to play

Bobby Portis will remain in the starting lineup on Saturday. Taj Gibson is active and will come off the bench if he plays. It is very unlikely that he will play against the Pistons. We have conflicting reports from the beat writers, so at this point we can only wait for updates closer to tip-off. The only thing that is guaranteed is that Portis is starting.

Derrick Rose (elbow) officially ruled out; E'Twaun Moore to start in his place

Rose has been ruled out of Saturday contest with the Pistons due to an elbow injury. E’Twaun Moore will start in his place and is a viable punt option on a short slate. Jimmy Butler and Pau Gasol will soak up the usage with Rose sidelined. Gasol has played 30+ minutes in his last four games but has yet to exceed value. Butler had 42.6 fpts against the Rockets on Thursday. With such a short slate, expect Butler to be heavily owned on Saturday.

Taj Gibson (rib) will try to play on Saturday

Gibson will try to play on Saturday with a fractured rib. Gibson will likely be limited and is a low-end option against the Pistons. Gibson has a really low floor and does not score enough to exceed value. Gibson is averaging only 6.6 shot attempts in his last give games. With Gibson expected back in the lineup, Bobby Portis will likely return to the bench. Nikola Mirotic will also lose value with Gibson back in the lineup.

Tony Parker

No Spurs resting on Saturday against the Raptors

The Spurs are expected to start Tony Parker and Danny Green in the backcourt. Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Tim Duncan will round out the starting five. The Raptors and Spurs game has the lowest projected point total and highest projected spread. Aldridge’s asking price has spiked considerably in the past month, not leaving a lot of room for upside.

Taj Gibson (rib) to warm up on Saturday, still listed as doubtful

Taj Gibson has returned from New York and will test his ribs in pre-game warmups. Gibson is still closer to doubtful but we will confirm his status once it is official. Bobby Portis or Nikola Mirotic could start once Gibson is ruled out.

E'Twaun Moore

Orlando Magic

E'Twaun Moore will start if Derrick Rose is ruled out on Saturday

Derrick Rose is most likely out for tonight’s contest but has not been confirmed yet. If Rose misses the game, E’Twaun will start in his place. Moore started 20 games earlier this season and averaged 22.18 fpts in those games. Moore’s season-high for fantasy points was 39, giving him tournament appeal. We should have a confirmation soon on Rose’s status.

Lavoy Allen

Washington Wizards
4/02/16, 6:17 PM ET

Lavoy Allen confirmed as the starter for Saturday

Allen will join the starting lineup on Saturday against the Sixers. Lavoy Allen is a viable punt option coming off 32.2 night Thursday. Myles Turner will go to the bench, losing all value. Jordan Hill is not in the rotation with Solomon Hill playing the backup PF.

Nerlens Noel

Sacramento Kings
4/02/16, 7:20 PM ET

Nerlens Noel (knee) and Richaun Holmes (Achilles) ruled out for Saturday

Noel will miss his sixth consecutive game but has not been ruled out for the season. Carl Landry has been starting in his place and been returning value on his salary. As we mentioned earlier, Landry has had three 30+ fantasy games in his last seven outings. Holmes will miss his third consecutive game but has not done much all season. Robert Covington is the first wing player off the bench for the Sixers. Covington finally had a subpar showing after four games of 30+ fpts. Jerami Grant was back in the lineup so Covington was not able to play more than 30 minutes. Jerami Grant is starting but is still limited to 25 minutes on Saturday.

Luis Scola

Brooklyn Nets
4/02/16, 5:36 PM ET

Luis Scola is questionable for Saturday

Scola has a sore left knee and is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Spurs. Jason Thompson has started the past two games and has not made much of an impact. With the possibility of Lowry or DeRozan resting, Thompson’s value could open up late. We should have an update soon regarding the Raptors.

Darren Collison

Los Angeles Lakers
4/02/16, 4:41 PM ET

Darren Collison is an elite option with Rondo, Cousins out

The Kings are resting Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins for the second time this week in their match-up with the Nuggets. Cousins and Rondo account for a lot of the Kings’ offense, so whenever either of them are out it is a great place to look for value. Darren Collison seems to be the guy to benefit the most from their absence as he looks to take more of a scoring role. Looking at the CourtIQ tool we can see that Collison’s usage bumps up to 28% without these guys on the floor and he scores at a clip of 1.08 fantasy point per minute. He is almost guaranteed 30+ minutes barring foul trouble, and should easily be able to at least hit 5x and hopefully more like 6x or 7x. He is in a great spot tonight and is in a situation you should take advantage of here towards the end of the season.

Nerlens Noel

Sacramento Kings
4/02/16, 4:23 PM ET

Nerlens Noel (knee) expected to miss Saturday's game

Noel is expected to miss his sixth consecutive game. Carl Landry has been starting in his place, averaging 25.08 fpts in his last seven games. Landry’s is near peak salary but he does have some upside left to consider. Landry has hit 30+ fantasy points on DraftKings in three out of those seven games.

Alec Burks (fibula) could return on Tuesday

Alec Burks has played this calendar year but is trying to make a return on Tuesday. The Jazz will be visiting Utah and if Burks plays against them he will be on a minutes restriction. He is not a viable DFS option but his return would diminish any value Trey Burke had.

Kobe Bryant

Los Angeles Lakers
4/02/16, 4:12 PM ET

Kobe Bryant (shoulder) expected to start on Sunday against the Celtics

Kobe Bryant is expected to start against the archrival Boston Celtics on Sunday at home. Bryant only played 8 minutes against the Heat on Wednesday, making him a high-risk option. Bryant had 28.7 fpts in Boston earlier this season, which is likely his ceiling for this game.

Festus Ezeli (knee) upgraded to doubtful for Sunday

Ezeli has been out of the lineup since late-January due to a knee injury. He has been upgraded to doubtful for Sunday’s contest with the Blazers. Ezeli is not an option until he can it’s proven he can secure over 15 minutes. The Warriors could ease him back into action with Andrew Bogut questionable for Sunday.
