Darren Collison is a must-start cash play with Rajon Rondo doubtful
Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay, and Seth Curry have all been ruled doubtful tonight with various injuries, and that makes Darren Collison a must-start in cash games. Collison is almost guaranteed to see 36+ minutes tonight as there is absolutely no depth at PG for the Kings, and at his price of $5,400 on DraftKings and $5,200 on FanDuel he is almost a lock to reach value. His usage gets a huge bump when Rondo is out and he has an extremely high floor for his price. Friday night when Rondo was out, Collison put up 33.75 DK points in 37 minutes vs. the Clippers and we expect to see that same production, if not more, tonight vs. the Thunder. This game has a super high over/under of 228, and both teams play at an extremely fast pace. You will want to have some exposure to this game tonight as there will be some fantasy gold produced, and there is no better place to start than with Collison in your cash lineups. There may be merit to fading him in GPPs because of his expected ownership percentage and the fact that this could turn into a blowout, but then again the Kings have no depth at the guard position so he could still see 30+ minutes even in a blowout. Go ahead and lock and load Collison into your lineups tonight.
Isaiah Canaan to start at SG on Monday
Canaan will draw the start at SG tonight with Nik Stauskas moving to the bench. He finished with 34 minutes of court time yesterday despite totaling 35 minutes in his previous two games combined, so it’s tough to figure out where he’ll land tonight as a starter. We’d expect somewhere around 25 minutes for Canaan which does put him in play as a GPP punt, but he’s not an option beyond that. All of the Sixers carry risk tonight in a game that is expected to get ugly, but Jerami Grant and Nerlens Noel have noteworthy ceilings with Okafor out.

Avery Bradley will play Monday as expected
Avery Bradley will play Monday vs. Utah, which was expected after he was able to finish Saturday’s game without incident. Bradley tweaked his ankle during that game but re-entered and was fine thereafter, so there isn’t any reason to expect him to be limited at all in this spot. The match-up with a slow paced Jazz team makes Bradley a GPP play at best, and he takes a back seat to guys like Will Barton, Bradley Beal and Jamal Crawford in our projections.

All three players were questionable coming into tonight’s game and now have been downgraded. Rajon Rondo is dealing with a hand issue while Rudy Gay is suffering from a shoulder injury. Seth Curry played well in Rondo’s absence on Friday but now has a foot injury. Darren Collison will now be a heavily owned player but is still an excellent option against the Thunder. Omri Casspi will likely start in Gay’s place and is a tournament option only.

Jerami Grant starting for Jahlil Okafor tonight
Jerami Grant will be starting tonight against the Wizards. Grant played 38 minutes last night and had 39 fantasy points on DraftKings. Grant should be considered an elite punt option but there is a blowout to take into consideration as well. Over his last nine games, Grant has been averaging 26.8 minutes while putting up 22.88 FPs on DK giving him a solid floor at a $4,300 price tag.
Hollis Thompson (illness) to play on Monday
Hollis Thompson will be playing today and will continue to come off the bench. Thompson is a low-end target tonight but could get minutes in a blowout scenario. Thompson is a tournament option only, having shown 25+ FPs upside with an 8.5 FPs floor over his last 10 games.

With Jahlil Okafor out tonight, Jerami Grant will get the start at PF and becomes a very strong value play across the industry. He’s playable in any format, while Nerlens Noel now also becomes a much stronger play at the PF spot. His minutes have been fluctuating greatly as of late, but he’ll be needed to shoulder at least 28-30 minutes (likely more) with Okafor inactive. Not that this has much effect on the Wizards front-court situation, but Okafor being out of the lineup does strengthen the Sixers defense slightly.

LeBron will return to the lineup tonight after sitting out yesterday against Washington in order to rest. While Kevin Durant is the more appealing play in all formats tonight, LeBron has some GPP value as always given his extremely high ceiling. It wouldn’t be crazy to see this OKC/SAC game get out of hand (especially if Rondo and Gay sit), so pivoting to LeBron in some spots has merit.

Tristan Thompson will be coming off the bench tonight as Timofey Mozgov is getting the start. Mozgov is now a viable punt option with his salary under $4k on both major sites. Mozgov played 25 minutes last night and was able to score 25 fantasy points on DK. Mozgov will likely see 25 minutes tonight against the Pacers and has a chance to exceed value again.

Alan Anderson will be resting on the second night of a back-to-back. Gary Neal has been ruled out with a sore leg but he was not DFS relevant. Ramon Sessions will benefit the most with Bradley Beal limited as well. The Wizards are double-digit favorites at home, which could lead to Session seeing over 20 minutes.

Kobe Bryant’s status has not been confirmed for tomorrow but Byron Scott did think he would play. Bryant missed Friday’s game against the Grizzlies with a sore shoulder. Bryant is terrific tournament target on DK for tomorrow’s game against the Nets. Bryant will probably be questionable throughout the day, with an update probably coming after lineups lock. If Bryant sits, Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell would be quality sleeper plays with upside.

Jerryd Bayless is probable to play tonight against the Rockets. He’s missed the past five contests due to a knee issue, but looks very likely to return tonight which eats into the value of Michael Carter-Williams. O.J. Mayo has been starting at the PG spot of late, but it’s MCW that gets most of the run at that spot, so we can assume some kind of three-way time share for now. Bayless isn’t likely to take on much of a role in his first game back, so expect somewhere between 14-20 minutes.

Anthony Davis is considered a game-time decision for Wednesday, but Alvin Gentry said that he believes Davis will suit up. We probably won’t have anything definitive on Davis until Wednesday, so we’ll update his status at that point. If he can’t go, Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday would become elite targets in any format.

Stephen Curry did not practice today and is listed as questionable for tomorrow’s game with the Hawks. Steve Kerr stated that they’d be cautious with Curry and given their league-leading record, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them give him a night off. If that happens, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green both become stronger targets (Klay gets the bigger bump), while Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala would enter the discussion as viable punt plays. We’ll update Curry’s status after tomorrow’s shootaround.
