Jameer Nelson (wrist) out again on Tuesday
Nelson has been ruled out due to his wrist injury which opens the door for rookie Emmanuel Mudiay to start again. Mudiay should definitely be used in tournaments tonight with his high upside and relatively cheap salary. With the Nuggets also in the game with the highest projected total, look for Mudiay to exceed value. Tyler Johnson of the Heat started opposite Westbrook on Sunday and was able to put up 16 points, six rebounds, and four assists in 39 minutes. Mudiay is expected to see around 32-35 minutes and should be able to put up a similar stat line. Westbrook has also given up huge games to Rondo and Lillard recently, making Mudiay a worthy target on a short slate.

Nik Stauskas probable for Wednesday
Nik Stauskas (shoulder) is probable to play against the Magic on Wednesday. He’s missed the Sixers past two games after playing 39 minutes back on 1/14 against Portland, which has allowed Isaiah Canaan to get back into the rotation with Robert Covington also seeing an uptick in playing time. Canaan will likely go back to having a very minor role, while Stauskas can be expected to see 25-30 minutes assuming he’s moved back into the starting lineup.

Ian Mahinmi will play Tuesday; George Hill (personal) still questionable
Ian Mahinmi will play tonight against the Suns, while George Hill, who has been away from the team for the last 3 days due to personal reasons, is still considered questionable. Mahinmi’s presence eats greatly into the value of Myles Turner, who isn’t a viable DFS target with Mahinmi healthy tonight. If George Hill isn’t able to suit up again, Monta Ellis becomes an elite play in all formats, and C.J. Miles may be afforded a little extra court time as well. Joseph Young would figure to back up Ellis at the point.

With Derrick Rose, Aaron Brooks and E’Twaun Moore healthy, this news doesn’t have any real DFS implications. Expect Brooks to continue to be Rose’s primary backup until Hinrich returns.

The questionable/doubtful designation seems to indicate that both players have less than a 50/50 shot at suiting up. If Nelson isn’t able to go, Emmanuel Mudiay becomes an especially strong GPP play considering his price has dropped off since his lengthy injury absence. The match-up with Russell Westbrook isn’t ideal on multiple levels, but Mudiay’s court time keeps his floor fairly high and the ceiling is very nice with 35+ minutes. Assuming Nurkic cant’ go, Nikola Jokic and Joffrey Lauvergne will eat up most of the minutes at the center spot when Kenneth Faried is off the floor (assuming Faried and Arthur start in the front-court).

The Wizards will be short-handed as usual on Wednesday with Porter, Gooden and Humphries all out of action. Porter’s role had been slightly diminished with the return of Bradley Beal, but Beal is still having his minutes monitored and hasn’t returned to a full-go just yet. Kelly Oubre, Jared Dudley, Garrett Temple and Gary Neal will help fill the void left by Porter, while Marcin Gortat will continue to see as much playing time as he can handle without any capable back-ups behind him.

Victor Oladipo has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game with the Sixers. He’ll miss a second straight game and his absence will once again lead to Elfrid Payton seeing huge minutes at the PG spot. Payton posted 16 points, 5 dimes and 2 boards in 27 minutes on Monday, although the limited court time was a product of the score (Tobias Harris’ 32 minutes were 5 more than any other starter played). Payton is an elite play tomorrow in all formats, while Evan Fournier, Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic will also be popular targets against the lowly Sixers.

The Knicks have released an injury report for their game tomorrow night against the Utah Jazz. The biggest name of the group is Kristaps Porzingis who is listed as questionable with a foot injury. Lance Thomas and Kevin Seraphin are also questionable. We’ll update the trio’s status tomorrow as more information becomes available.

Nikola Pekovic OUT tonight
The Timberwolves are giving Pekovic the night off to rest. The news isn’t significant for DFS purposes as Pekovic hasn’t topped 18 minutes since returning to action earlier this month. It could mean a slight uptick in minutes for Karl Anthony-Towns and Gorgui Dieng.

Rodney Stuckey continues to remain out with a foot sprain and Ian Mahinmi with a sore heel and George Hill (personal matters) are both considered questionable for the Pacers game tonight against the Phoenix Suns. Hill is a top option at PG if he is able to go as the Suns are 29th in PG DvP. If he isn’t able to go, cue up all the Monta Ellis you can handle – Ellis is still a DFS option if Hill doesn’t play but if he gets the start at PG he becomes an elite play. We’ll keep an eye on Mahinmi’s status as well – Myles Turner could be a sneaky value play if Mahinmi can’t go as he is coming off a 28 minute, 42.25 DraftKings fantasy point performance his last game out. The two top point guards for the Miami Heat will again not play as the team has ruled them out for tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Tyler Johnson would likely get the start and is in consideration as a value play for this small four game slate. Johnson played 38 minutes last game and put up 28.5 DraftKings fantasy points. However, his recent performances and playing time have seen his price rise to $5,100 on DK which makes him good for cash game consideration but not so much for GPP’s. At FanDuel, however, his price is $4,500 which makes him worthy of rostering in both cash games and GPP’s. Dwayne Wade had an MRI on his shoulder that came back clean and he’s an excellent option tonight against a Bucks team that is 22nd in fantasy points allowed per game.

Evans missed yesterday’s game against Memphis and is questionable for the Pelicans game tonight against the Timberwolves. If Evans can’t go, Norris Cole would likely get the start again but Jrue Holiday would be the preferred DFS target. Cole scored 19.25 DraftKings fantasy points in 30 minutes of playing time yesterday while Holiday put up 38 DraftKings fantasy points in 29 minutes of playing time. We’ll update you on Evans status for tonight when we learn more.

Pat Beverley missed the last game due to an ankle injury but is good enough to start tonight. Dwight Howard has been struggling with an oblique injury but he is also is good to go tonight. The Rockets and Clippers hate each other and it is safe to say we should see a ton of fantasy gold. James Harden is coming off a 31-point game last night and will look to continue his hot play tonight.

Patrick Beverley was questionable going into Monday’s game with his ankle injury but is ready to go now. Beverley is not much of a DFS but his return does kill any value Jason Terry or Ty Lawson would have had. Beverley should only be used for tournaments if at all due to his boom-or-bust nature of play.

Jordan will return to the starting lineup tonight after missing two games with an illness. Jordan’s return will likely end Cole Aldrich’s hot streak but Aldrich is still a DFS option against the Rockets front line. Jordan is an elite target tonight and should be in your lineups with Aldrich considered a good punt option. Jordan was probable going into the day so it is likely his ownership levels are not that low.
